Rape of minor boys as old as 5 , by Ethiopian Military Forces in Gondar, Amhara Region: In the midst of Gondar, Amhara region, a dark cloud of horror looms as reports emerge of heinous acts perpetrated by Ethiopian military forces. Among the victims, age offers no protection, as minor boys as old as 5 are subjected to unimaginable violence of rape. One particularly harrowing account comes from a mother, her voice trembling with anguish as she recounts the unspeakable ordeal of her 5-year-old son. Rushed to the hospital, medical examinations confirm the grim reality: her son has become a victim of rape and sodomy at the hands of Ethiopian military personnel. Desperate to shield her son from further harm, she consents to post-exposure prophylaxis, a grim reminder of the irreversible trauma inflicted upon him. Tragically, he is not alone. Disturbing reports continue to surface, revealing a pattern of assaults targeting children as young as 5 year old , 9 and 11 year old , all falling victim to the brutal actions of those in power. These atrocities unfold against a backdrop of attack , marked by the recent onslaught launched by government forces led by Abiy Ahmed. Gondar bears witness to a reign of terror, with rape emerging as a sinister weapon of war, systematically employed to terrorize and subjugate the populace. The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission corroborates these grim realities, documenting the relentless campaign of violence against ethnic Amharas. Yet, the world remains largely indifferent, turning a blind eye to the suffering of a community besieged by unspeakable horrors. The mother's anguished testimony reverberates through the silence, a stark reminder of the pain and suffering endured by countless others. In a society bound by cultural norms, speaking out against such atrocities remains a daunting task, compounded by fear and stigma. Once more, ethnic Amharas find themselves abandoned to their fate, victims of a relentless onslaught that spares neither age nor innocence. As the cries of the oppressed echo through the corridors of history, the world stands at a crossroads - will it continue to avert its gaze, or will it rise in solidarity against the tide of injustice threatening to engulf us all?
