The black smoke from petrol in this video is mainly because petrol is being burned in an open container, where fuelโair mixing is poor and oxygen is not supplied sufficiently to the burning fuel. Petrol has a high carbon content, so incomplete combustion produces soot. That is why petrol engines are designed with a proper airโfuel ratio and controlled mixing. Comparing open burning of petrol with ethanol and using it to claim that E20 gives โsignificantly cleaner combustionโ is misleading. This experiment does not represent combustion inside a properly designed vehicle engine.
This is a BS video โ in real life inside the high temperature and high pressure environment of a car engine, the fuel is precisely released as a mist by the fuel injector and 99% of the petrol burns cleanly. Only 0.9% is released as Carbon Monoxide and even smaller 0.1% as soot. Sure, Ethanol is even cleaner but with 0.1% soot with Petrol, the improvement is minuscule. This video is HIGHLY misleading since the fuel is burned under very low pressure and temperature which results in a large amount of unturned fuel (soot).
Forget all this justification. Just publish all test and research reports with methodology

The issue isn't petrol itself,it's the pricing and lack of choices. Since ethanol is cheaper, blending it should lower the price of fuel (say, โน80 or โน90). On top of that, consumers should still have the option to buy 100% pure petrol at the standard โน110 rate if they prefer.
