@nitin_gadkari @narendramodi @NHAI_Official @MORTHIndia @PIB_India This decision is very good, the government must be strict, otherwise quality work will not be done in India, it may be a little late but it should be done at the latest.

@nitin_gadkari @narendramodi @NHAI_Official @MORTHIndia @PIB_India why doesn't govt engineer checks the roads quality? I think its clear quality checks system and people handling this work seems ineffective, unqualified and incompetent. they must be removed.

Highway Hijacked by Goons? Family with Children Attacked on Mysuru Expressway Is the Mysuru Expressway safe anymore? The occupants of car KA 13 N 4610 allegedly attacked an entire family including a husband, wife, an elderly woman, and children in the middle of the busy Maddur stretch of the expressway at night.Beating up a family in the centre of a national highway is nothing short of highway hooliganism. If such brazen violence can happen on one of Karnataka's busiest roads, what safety can ordinary commuters expect? Our Hon. CM M.K.Stalin has already given a befitting reply to the blatant lie spoken by Hon. PM Narendra Modi yesterday that DMK stalled the Maduravoyal elevated corridor project. I as Additional Solicitor General of India argued for the National Highways Authority of India on behalf of the Union Government in this dispute, so let me state some facts for the benefit of PM Modi. โžก๏ธChennai Portโ€“Maduravoyal Elevated Corridor was conceived, sanctioned, and launched during the DMK government in Tamil Nadu in coordination with the UPA Government at the union. โžก๏ธJune 2007 - project sanction โžก๏ธMarch 7, 2008 - Government Order was issued โžก๏ธJanuary 2009 - Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh & Dr. Kalaignar as CM laid the foundation stone. โžก๏ธWork commenced in 2010. Environmental clearance was obtained. โžก๏ธBy 2012, nearly 30% of the project had already been completed. Pillars had been erected. Construction was underway. ๐ŸšซWhat stopped it? ๐ŸƒIn April 2012, after change in Government, AIADMK & J Jayalalithaa stalled the project citing lame concerns. A stop-work order was issued. โš–๏ธI appeared before the Honโ€™ble Madras High Court on behalf of NHAI and fought the case to quash the stop work order. In February 2014, the High Court quashed the stop-work order! The AIADMK Government filed an appeal and got a stay before the Hon. Supreme Court. They claimed that entire city of Chennai will be inundated because of the project! After 2014, the NDA government at the centre took no proper steps to get the stay vacated! ๐Ÿ‘‰Only after Selvi J. Jayalithaa passed away on 05.12.2016, barely 4 days later, the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu wrote to the NHAI requesting to resume the project. By then the contractor had sued NHAI for delay, project cost had more than doubled. ๐ŸŒ„It was only after Chief Minister Thiru. M.K. Stalin assumed office in 2021 that a comprehensive redesign was undertaken and life was given to the project again. ๐ŸŒ„On 16 May 2022, an MoU was signed between the Tamil Nadu Government, NHAI, Chennai Port Authority, and the Indian Navy. ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธThe project was redesigned as a 20.6 km double-decker elevated corridor at a revised cost of โ‚น5,885 crore. โŒYesterday, the PM stood before the Tamil people and uttered a baseless lie that DMK stopped this project. ๐Ÿ’นThe PM should ask his alliance partners AIADMK to bear the loss to the Government and public exchequer โ€“ โ‚น 4805 crore difference between original project cost of โ‚น 1800 cr to current cost of โ‚น 5885 cr! We tracked the Sokoto Badagry Super-Highway from both ends this month, the Lagos axis and Sokoto axis. On the Lagos end, the project is currently within Ogun State, stretching from Diya Gate, OPIC Estate, Agbara to Iyana Idoye, Lusada. Sparse work was observed at Odugbe in Lusada, Ado Odo/Ota LGA. The project terminated at Phase 4, Atan with only one side of the road under construction by Hitech Construction Company Limited. At the Sokoto end in Illela LGA, work was ongoing, bush clearing, sand filling, and site preparation. On the section towards Katami, Silame LGA, Sokoto and in Kebbi State, some portions have been completed with concrete paving and solar lighting installed. Progress is uneven and slow. Now here is what has been committed on paper, FEC has approved contracts worth N2.36tn for the highway since 2024, (N947bn for Kebbi single carriageway in August 2024, N456bn for Sokoto 120km section in October 2024 flagoff and N961bn for Kebbi second carriageway for August 2025). Just 3 days ago, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent a fresh request to the Senate for a $516.3m loan from Deutsche Bank, the largest single external injection into this project yet. But the Minister of Works, David Nweze Umahi admitted in February 2026 that only N210.31bn, 9.7% of expected 2025 capital releases have actually been paid to contractors. Contractors across Federal Ministry of Works projects are owed N2.2tn for advanced work. Commitments on paper. The total cost of this 1,068km highway alone is projected at over N6.5tn, borrowed money, at a time when Nigeria already spends substantial part of her total revenue servicing existing debt. We urgently call on the Federal Government of Nigeria and National Assembly to; - Properly scrutinize every new loan. - Release funds owed to contractors. - Publish quarterly disbursement reports for this highways. - Scrutinise the $516.3m Deutsche Bank loan terms transparently. Citizens deserve infrastructure and fiscal accountability, not one without the other. #Publicfundsmustforthegoodofthepeople #AskQuestions

Cracks Tearing Through Totaghati, Major Geological Threat Looms in #Uttarakhand: Before you start reading this post, here are a few important points to set some context. A. Totaghati is a critical stretch on the #Rishikeshโ€“#Badrinath National Highway (NH-7) in Uttarakhand. It is considered one of the most challenging and sensitive parts of the #CharDhamYatra route and lies about 40 Kilometers from Rishikesh. B. The expert explaining the Totaghti situation in the video is one of the most well respected geologists of our state. His name is Prof. MPS Bisht and he is in conversation with Shri Ramesh Bhatt of Devbhoomi Dialogue. C. The video is recent, recorded in the aftermath of the August 5, 2025 #Dharali tragedy in #Uttarkashi. Now let's talk about the issue: A significant geological threat is looming over Totaghati,. Known for its narrow roads, sharp curves, and rocky terrain for decades, Totaghati is now emerging as a major challenge for the national highway due to the appearance of large cracks and fractures on the mountain rocks. Experts warn that if these cracks continue to widen, an entire section of the mountain may collapse, potentially cutting off access to Badrinath, #Kedarnath, and large parts of the #Garhwal region from Rishikesh. Senior geologist Prof. MPS Bisht, who has been studying the hills and internal structures of Uttarakhand for the past three/four decades has informed us all that multiple significant fractures have been discovered during the past few months of monitoring the rock formations in Totaghati. According to Prof. Bisht, the rocks in this area are made of limestone, which naturally develop fractures and clints (deep fissures) over time. He has issued a warning that the situation in Totaghati could pose a devastating blow, not just for Char Dham pilgrims, but also for the local economy and military transport. His team has been regularly identifying such critical locations and notifying departments including the National Highways Authority of India. Prof. Bisht explained that these cracks are hundreds of meters deep, cutting through the entire mountain, not just the surface. This indicates that the threat lies deep within the internal structure of the mountain. The formation of these cracks at Totaghati is such that if these cracks widen or break, an entire section of the mountain could slide down. Dear John, @akwakwaofrealestate Thank you for the update. We are aware that the contractor is still actively working on the site; Mobil - Ikota drainage construction. I understand that work had to slow down over the past few weeks due to increased water levels from recent heavy rainfall. This is a common challenge in coastal and water-based infrastructure projects, and we commend the contractor for prioritizing safety and site management under these conditions. Morso, the portion the contractors are working on now cannot be dammed hence the water backlog in some areas. While we apologize for this inconveniences experienced, we also implore residents to be patient and show understanding with the Government in the provision of the resilient infrastructure. Our team remains in close communication with the contractor to monitor progress and ensure the project stays on track. The commitment to completing this critical drainage infrastructure is unwavering, and we are confident that the contractor will resume full operations as soon as the water levels permit. We urge residents to remain patient as we work through these natural challenges. The completion of this project remains a top priority for the Lagos State Government. Thank you! MP Dr Amol Kolhe, who was on his way to Moshi for an event, faced a traffic jam on the old Pune Mumbai highway. On Saturday evening, he was heading towards Moshi when he was stranded in a traffic jam at Somatne Phata. So, Dr. Kolhe got down from the vehicle and himself tried to smoothen the traffic jam at Somatne Phata Chowk. Tried to smooth the traffic by giving instructions to the drivers. He has posted this video on X handle. Meanwhile, he has also mentioned in this post the content that takes a jibe at Nitin Gadkari and the government. In this post, Dr. Kolhe said, 'Bypass on Pune-Nashik highway has started due to collective efforts. However, since the elevated corridor between Khed and Nashik Phata and between Wagholi and Shirur on the Pune-Nagar highway has not yet been completed, the people are facing the daily traffic jams. We are constantly raising our voice in the Parliament to make this elevated corridor. Along with that, we are continuously following up with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and National Highway Authority. 9 thousand crores and 11 thousand crores respectively have been sanctioned through their efforts. But the work has not actually started yet. I am constantly drawing the attention of the Central Government to this daily suffering of the people. But these projects are not getting the speed they should from the central government, he has mentioned in the post. #pune #punecity #Punecitynews #news #Punenews #MPamolkolhe #amolkolhe
