A Show Cause Notice has been issued by GHMC for cancellation of Building Permission – also, No Occupancy Certificate issued. The company is owned by Pradeep Reddy Badvelu Where is the building- The Multi-Storied Group Housing Project (two towers with 2 cellars + stilt + 17 upper floors and club house) is constructed by Rajbhavan Road, Somajiguda, Hyderabad (near Park Hotel / Necklace Road), alleging that the land on which the building is constructed is seriously disputed. Based on the above reports, GHMC has issued a Show Cause Notice under Section 450 of the GHMC Act, 1955 to M/s. NHAI has established a Gaushala named “Gokuldham,” near Tunnel No. 4 at Malyawar on the Kiratpur–Manali corridor in #HimachalPradesh. This delightful clip, shared with me by Nagdev Pawar sir, perfectly captures the ongoing nightmare that is the Virar–Manor stretch of NH-48 as of June 2025. Once a smooth, asphalt-paved highway, it was tragically "upgraded" by NHAI to concrete. The result? A national highway that transforms into India's longest parking lot the moment a raindrop hits the ground. This particular traffic jam stretches roughly 22 kms from Manor to Sakawar village. And how can anyine miss that glorious "newly" laid concrete surface? Remember, the NHAI did this concretization work because cement roads supposedly last longer life and warrant lower maintenance. It's been not even a year since this surface was laid. Only in India can a brand-new road be objectively worse than the old one it replaced. This is a true feat of engineering incompetence, proudly brought to you by the NHAI and its contractor cartel. Shame on you NHAI Shame on you Nitin Gadkari

Tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major National Highway projects worth a combined cost of nearly Rs.11,000 crore. The projects — the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) — have been developed under the Government’s comprehensive plan to decongest the capital, with the objective of greatly improving connectivity, cutting travel time, and reducing traffic in Delhi and its surrounding areas. The 10.1 km long Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway has been developed at a cost of around Rs. 5,360 crore. Our Hon. CM M.K.Stalin has already given a befitting reply to the blatant lie spoken by Hon. PM Narendra Modi yesterday that DMK stalled the Maduravoyal elevated corridor project. I as Additional Solicitor General of India argued for the National Highways Authority of India on behalf of the Union Government in this dispute, so let me state some facts for the benefit of PM Modi. ➡️Chennai Port–Maduravoyal Elevated Corridor was conceived, sanctioned, and launched during the DMK government in Tamil Nadu in coordination with the UPA Government at the union. ➡️June 2007 - project sanction ➡️March 7, 2008 - Government Order was issued ➡️January 2009 - Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh & Dr. Kalaignar as CM laid the foundation stone. ➡️Work commenced in 2010. Environmental clearance was obtained. ➡️By 2012, nearly 30% of the project had already been completed. Pillars had been erected. Construction was underway. 🚫What stopped it? 🍃In April 2012, after change in Government, AIADMK & J Jayalalithaa stalled the project citing lame concerns. A stop-work order was issued. ⚖️I appeared before the Hon’ble Madras High Court on behalf of NHAI and fought the case to quash the stop work order. In February 2014, the High Court quashed the stop-work order! The AIADMK Government filed an appeal and got a stay before the Hon. Supreme Court. They claimed that entire city of Chennai will be inundated because of the project! After 2014, the NDA government at the centre took no proper steps to get the stay vacated! 👉Only after Selvi J. Jayalithaa passed away on 05.12.2016, barely 4 days later, the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu wrote to the NHAI requesting to resume the project. By then the contractor had sued NHAI for delay, project cost had more than doubled. 🌄It was only after Chief Minister Thiru. M.K. Stalin assumed office in 2021 that a comprehensive redesign was undertaken and life was given to the project again. 🌄On 16 May 2022, an MoU was signed between the Tamil Nadu Government, NHAI, Chennai Port Authority, and the Indian Navy. 🛣️The project was redesigned as a 20.6 km double-decker elevated corridor at a revised cost of ₹5,885 crore. ❌Yesterday, the PM stood before the Tamil people and uttered a baseless lie that DMK stopped this project. 💹The PM should ask his alliance partners AIADMK to bear the loss to the Government and public exchequer – ₹ 4805 crore difference between original project cost of ₹ 1800 cr to current cost of ₹ 5885 cr! The 118km reinforced concrete pavement section of the Abuja–Kaduna road project is now 95% completed and fully equipped with solar street lighting. Built to the same durable standard as the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, this phase of the project is valued at ₦252 billion, with over 80% of the cost already covered under the leadership of President Tinubu. The section is scheduled for full completion by the first week of May 2026. Work is also progressing steadily on the remaining 164km stretch in Kaduna State, which is being constructed using the same reinforced concrete pavement standard. This phase is valued at ₦502 billion, with 70% of the funding already disbursed. The entire Abuja–Kaduna road project is on track for full completion by December 2026, and will feature comprehensive solar lighting throughout. This milestone reflects a strong commitment to delivering durable road infrastructure and improving connectivity across the region.

Strategic infrastructure is laying the foundation for economic growth in Kogi State. During the Renewed Hope National Media Tour, the delegation inspected the ongoing flyover bridge at Kabba Junction on the Lokoja–Benin Expressway. Beyond easing congestion, the project will improve the movement of people and goods, reduce travel delays, and support trade and economic activities along one of Nigeria’s key interstate highways. The Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Barrister Salami Ozigi Dedaat, explained that the Abuja-Lokoja highway had been in a very deplorable condition due to being abandoned by past administrations but has now been earmarked for completion by President Bola Tinubu. The road has been divided into five different sections, each awarded to a different contractor to speed up its early completion. During the Renewed Hope National Media Tour, the delegation inspected the ongoing flyover bridge at Kabba Junction on the Lokoja–Benin Expressway. Beyond easing congestion, the project will improve the movement of people and goods, reduce travel delays, and support trade and economic activities along one of Nigeria’s key interstate highways. The Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Barrister Salami Ozigi Dedaat, explained that the Abuja-Lokoja highway had been in a very deplorable condition due to being abandoned by past administrations but has now been earmarked for completion by President Bola Tinubu. The road has been divided into five different sections, each awarded to a different contractor to speed up its early completion. We tracked the Sokoto Badagry Super-Highway from both ends this month, the Lagos axis and Sokoto axis. On the Lagos end, the project is currently within Ogun State, stretching from Diya Gate, OPIC Estate, Agbara to Iyana Idoye, Lusada. Sparse work was observed at Odugbe in Lusada, Ado Odo/Ota LGA. The project terminated at Phase 4, Atan with only one side of the road under construction by Hitech Construction Company Limited. At the Sokoto end in Illela LGA, work was ongoing, bush clearing, sand filling, and site preparation. On the section towards Katami, Silame LGA, Sokoto and in Kebbi State, some portions have been completed with concrete paving and solar lighting installed. Progress is uneven and slow. Now here is what has been committed on paper, FEC has approved contracts worth N2.36tn for the highway since 2024, (N947bn for Kebbi single carriageway in August 2024, N456bn for Sokoto 120km section in October 2024 flagoff and N961bn for Kebbi second carriageway for August 2025). Just 3 days ago, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent a fresh request to the Senate for a $516.3m loan from Deutsche Bank, the largest single external injection into this project yet. But the Minister of Works, David Nweze Umahi admitted in February 2026 that only N210.31bn, 9.7% of expected 2025 capital releases have actually been paid to contractors. Contractors across Federal Ministry of Works projects are owed N2.2tn for advanced work. Commitments on paper. The total cost of this 1,068km highway alone is projected at over N6.5tn, borrowed money, at a time when Nigeria already spends substantial part of her total revenue servicing existing debt. We urgently call on the Federal Government of Nigeria and National Assembly to; - Properly scrutinize every new loan. - Release funds owed to contractors. - Publish quarterly disbursement reports for this highways. - Scrutinise the $516.3m Deutsche Bank loan terms transparently. When the Federal Government of Nigeria commissioned parts of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway particularly Section One it did not commission the entire stretch. Section One spans about 47.7 kilometres, but only completed portions were opened at the time, while other segments were still in early construction stages due to swampy terrain, soil stabilization, and ongoing sandfilling works. Today, most of Section One has been fully covered, and pavement works have commenced, gradually transforming it into a continuous corridor from Victoria Island to the Lekki Free Trade Zone. This project is steadily taking shape. I’ll be sharing a comprehensive update soon, showing what’s happening across the previously disjointed sections. I understand that work had to slow down over the past few weeks due to increased water levels from recent heavy rainfall. Morso, the portion the contractors are working on now cannot be dammed hence the water backlog in some areas.
