Empathetic. Reassuring. Compassionate. Also flatly false. Per CBS News' 2020 Los Angeles survey, only ๐๐% of homeless individuals had done any work in the calendar quarter they became homeless. A 2017 San Francisco survey found ๐๐% working part-time or full-time. The reason is no mystery โ a substantial majority of street-homeless Americans are managing untreated severe mental illness, active substance abuse, or both. The "empathetic" policy that emerges from Porter's framing is to leave them on the street. The actually humane policy involves involuntary commitment, mandated treatment, and structured housing โ every one of which the empathy-coded liberal reflexively rejects as cruel. Nassim Taleb has the cleanest explanation. He calls it ๐ซ๐๐ง๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ณ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง. A family of four. One daughter โ ๐๐% of the household โ only eats organic. Mom faces a nightly choice: cook two meals or cook one all-organic meal. The all-organic meal is easier. The household renormalizes to the daughter's preference. The family then attends a barbecue with three other families. The host has the same choice: two menus, or one all-organic. The all-organic menu is easier. ๐๐% renormalizes ๐๐๐% of dinner. Now imagine the daughter's "preference" is not organic food. It is the belief that bank robbery is righteous, that Israel is a colonial regime which must be dismantled, that your health insurance executive should be eliminated by force, and that anyone who objects is a fascist. The mechanism is identical. The intransigent minority creates an asymmetric cost on resistance. The majority renormalizes for convenience. French physicist ๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฆ has modeled the threshold formally. In his work on opinion dynamics, an extreme view captures a population at roughly ๐๐% activated support โ provided the activists do three things consistently. They activate latent prejudices already present in the population. And they refuse, ever, to compromise on their core position. Pseudo-moderates then join โ not because they have been persuaded by the full activist position, but because the binary has been imposed and the alternative ("siding with the oppressor") has been made socially intolerable. ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ง ๐๐ข๐ค๐๐ซ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐๐๐ญ This is the most important paragraph in this post. Read it twice. Hasan Piker โ the Twitch streamer who endorses bank robberies, defends H-m-s, and lives in a $3 million Brentwood mansion โ is ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐๐๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐. He represents maybe 5-7% of the country. He does not move the needle by himself. The threat is the ๐ฉ๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐๐จ-๐ฆ๐จ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐๐ซ๐๐ฅ โ the ๐๐ฆ๐ธ ๐ ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฌ ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ด reporter who profiles him sympathetically, the Democratic congressman who appears on his stream, the Hollywood actor who shares his clips, the Brooklyn schoolteacher who attends his rallies, the empathetic college freshman who decides he is "๐ข ๐ญ๐ช๐ต๐ต๐ญ๐ฆ ๐ฆ๐น๐ต๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฆ, ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ต ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ด๐บ๐ด๐ต๐ฆ๐ฎ ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐บ ๐ช๐ด ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ซ๐ถ๐ด๐ต." That coalition โ Galam's ๐๐% โ is what flips the country. Hasan is just the visible 5%. This is also why Pratt's UCLA paper matters. Like physical sensitivity to heat, it can produce wisdom or it can produce hysteria, depending entirely on what is paired with it. What converts empathy into wisdom is ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ โ the willingness to evaluate consequences, to insist on results, to ask whether the policy that "feels compassionate" actually produces outcomes you would call humane in a year, a decade, or a lifetime. What converts empathy into tyranny is the ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ง๐๐ of judgment โ pure feeling, with no constraint, in service of a binary moral choice imposed by an activated 20%. ICE Watch "rapid responders" are following detailed operational playbooks that has them tracking federal agents, their movements and their vehicles in an AirTable database called "MN ICE PLATES." The deliberate strategy is to impede federal operations and force confrontations with federal authorities. Saturday morning, Jan. 24 This is what I saw in an encrypted ICE Watch group on Signal: ๐ง 7:15 AM CT/8:15 AM ET -- "Good Morning all. We are 7 days and 5 days into the federal occupation of our city." ๐ง 8:50 AM CT/9:50 ET -- "Willow" shares a video from inside Glam Doll Donuts on Nicollet Avenue of two federal agents trying to enter the donut shop, before quickly turning around and returning to their maroon Dodge Durango. Someone filming the video says: "Get out of here!" ๐ง 8:53 AM CT/9:53 AM ET -- A second Signal user, "Salacious B. Crumb," escalated the alert, summoning additional responders to Nicollet Avenue and citing the Dodge Durango and agents. "Backup needed at the Black Forest Inn parking lot on Nicollet Ave just south of 26th Street," the message read. "Multiple vehicles with many agents appear to be staging there," the alert continued. "One confirmed ICE vehicle seen was a maroon Dodge Durango [plate number], but it has driven away northbound on Nicollet." ๐ง 9:05 AM CT/10:05 AM ET -- Video of the scene shows that as Pretti stepped into the middle of Nicollet Avenue to direct traffic, fellow agitators could be heard blowing whistles to alert locals that ICE officers were around. Soon after, Pretti ended up in a street confrontation with CBP agents, across the street from Glam Doll Donuts. That's when bullets went off and Pretti was tragically killed. ๐ง 9:18 AM CT/10:18 AM ET -- The Signal network erupted. Using a red phone emoji to signal an all-points alert, a message blasted out: "โ๏ธ easy. URGENT: observers urgently requested at glam doll donuts @ 26th & nicollet [sic]. an observer has been shot by ice, unknown condition, emts [emergency medical technicians] present, please be safe. EDIT: medics requested to join perimeter in case agents start gassing. be aware there are many agents and mpd [Minneapolis Police Department] officers present." ๐ง According to these messages shared in the encrypted Signal chat, activists were already mobilized BEFORE any shots were firedโtracking, broadcasting and summoning people to Nicollet Avenue with one objective: to obstruct the work of federal agents. Encrypted Signal chats show โrapid respondersโ were dispatched to intercept ICE and Border Patrol agents during an active law enforcement operation. This wasnโt accidental. It was organized interferenceโdesigned to escalate confrontation. ๐ง A Gameplan to Create "Mayhem" This is the pattern. based on my reading of dozens of far-left protest manuals and strategies: 1๏ธโฃ Put bodies into volatile confrontations 2๏ธโฃ Film and amplify escalation 3๏ธโฃ Reframe tragedy as โexecutionโ 4๏ธโฃ Convert death to fuel rage 5โฃ Destroy Itโs a strategy. ๐ง Far-left groups mobilized protests within hours. 1โฃPeople's Forum 2๏ธโฃ Party for Socialism and Liberation 3๏ธโฃ Freedom Road Socialist Organization 4๏ธโฃ Democratic Socialists of America 5โฃBreakThrough News It's a well-funded network. One of the funders is Neville Roy Singham, an American-born billionaire living in China. He has financed a Marxist-Leninist network in America that is pro-China and foments chaos so that China can win in the "new Cold War." Calling this out does not dishonor Pretti or any victim of tragedy. What honors them is recognizing his death was avoidableโand asking why activists knowingly send people into a powder keg and walk away with political capital for their agenda. If we care about human life, we benefit from learning how people are mobilized, who benefits from escalation and why tragedy keeps being recycled into spectacle and political theater. Having multiple witnesses to alleged phenomena is important. And yes, people will think you're crazy but screw 'em. People have been experiencing this type of phenomena all over the world. At the time this was shot (2015 or 2016), their oldest of three daughters, Laurel, was 14, Aspen was 8, and the youngest, Cedar, was 6.) Caren: "My husband works for the Department of Defense and he travels a lot, so he's rarely here." (They bought the property in 2007 but the odd activity in the house didn't start until Cedar turned 3.) Caren: "Cedar has drawn pictures. This is the man with the brown arms. He lives in her room in her closet. This one she saw in my bathroom, it was a man covered with blood. And I have a book with over 40 drawings. She has become anxious and depressed." (Why didn't the family bring her to a psychiatrist or psychologist first before immediately seeking out a medium? What? They did? Why didn't hack Greenstreet tell us that? Because his goal is to make anybody connected to UFO disclosure look bad.) Caren: "We've seen psychiatrists, psychologists. They all say she's a normal little girl. But she says things that 5 and 6 year old children should not be saying. I love her with all my heart but, at times, I don't know who she is." How is Caren handling it? Caren: "Not very well. When I'm alone, I do a lot of crying. I feel isolated, I feel exhausted." (The kids fight and the older sisters blame Cedar for what's going on. That fighting may be related to the phenomena. (My take: It's obvious they were desperate for help in a situation where nobody else was offering up anything to fix the problem. So they turned to an alleged medium, Amy Allan, and former NYPD homicide investigator, Steve DiSchiavi, who were part of a TV show, "The Dead Files." I am NOT a fan of those types of shows and I would tell people to avoid them if they had a problem like what the Gallaudet's described. But I wasn't in their shoes so who knows what I might have done to get help for the people I love? Luckily, I've never had to deal with a situation like that.) Caren: "I was in the kitchen, and I opened the cupboard. And before doing anything, all the dishes and the bowls fell on top of me." (Sounds like poltergeist activity. And when I say poltergeist, I don't necessarily mean a ghost, spirit, etc. If you read Dr. Barry Taff's book, "Aliens Above, Ghosts Below," he talks about something called Recurrent Spontaneous Psychokinesis, or RSPK. The term was coined by parapsychologist, the late Dr. William Roll. The theory is that the paranormal activity taking place is originating from one of the people in the house. Usually, a young, adolescent boy or girl. Unfortunately, Allan (the alleged medium) didn't offer up any alternative explanations for the paranormal activity in the home and focused solely on the alleged spirts of dead people as the answer. She thought Cedar was a physical medium who could cause that type of activity to occur, but again, 100% related it to the spirits of dead people, without offering any other explanation. I've never been that scared in my life." (This is very similar to what happened to people who visited Skinwalker Ranch (and other locations) and reported taking "something" home with them. Also known as the hitchhiker effect. ) Caren: "I was asleep and I felt a hand grab my hair and yank me up. It was a very aggressive pull. I screamed, and I did not go back to sleep after that. There was no one around. Tim wasn't here. It was not a nightmare. I don't sleep most nights, but I'm glad that I had the experience because I understand what Cedar's going through. If I saw that every night, I think I'd act like her, too." Caren's mother, Jan: "Something's going on with Cedar. She's changed dramatically in the last year, year and a half. To do this to my grandchildren makes me angry. My husband and I were babysitting here and we heard Cedar cry out, yelling and screaming, 'Stop it, stop it. Leave me alone!' So I rubbed her back and she went back into her sleep. And then I heard a low voice (that sounded male) say, 'It's gonna be alright. It's alright.'" (From the investigation, Jan wants, "peace among the girls. They don't tend to get along. It's more than just sibling rivalry. It's something else." She thinks the girls are in physical danger. As Taff noted, intense interactions among people in the house could be the cause of all of this. Why did it take a few years for the activity in the house to start? Did anything change in the family dynamic? Cedar is interviewed and she tells the investigator what she's experienced, which includes a scary dream with blood on the floor and dead people. She says she sees the man with brown arms and brown skin who yells at her, "Get out of here, this is not your room. This is my room." Later on, the medium says that this man was there to protect Cedar. Based on what he allegedly said, that makes zero sense. I'm not a fan of this medium (Allan), to put it mildly. Aspen, eight years old, says she sees a shadow man in her room who sits near her dresser. She also saw a little girl who was wet. "I felt a thumb press on my neck really hard." During the nighttime walkthrough of the house, the medium says that one of the spirits looks wet. Is this confirmation or was the medium fed information about what the children experienced? Impossible to know as it's an edited TV show.) Caren says Cedar has seen over a hundred spirits. "It's every night." Medium Allan says this one spirit is tormenting the kids because she's jealous of them and wants Caren to be her mother.) Tim Gallaudet (TG): "You see a sort of grouping of UAP and paranormal and how does it intersect. And the answer is: I don't know." TG: "We were all grown up in traditional, kind of, religion. But at some point in our lives, my youngest daughter had real serious behavior issues. And to sum it all up, she is like many of these mediums that you see. To me, the part about them acquiring information they have no way of knowing through means other than their five senses has been proven. Maybe there's some storehouse of information that they're accessing, like an Akashic Records type of thing? Or, maybe they're really communicating with the dead or some other entities? Again, I don't know where the information is coming from. As TG said, there are lots of ways to explain it.) TG: "She had real experiences, it was affecting her. And through a lot of therapy, we were able to basically have her - now she's thirteen - she became adjusted and has kind of dealt with that. She's sort of suppressed it, actually, which is okay. While Trump threatens to seize Greenland by force, a quieter takeover is already underway. And it's happening through the same billionaire who planted the idea in Trump's head Ronald Lauder. The same Lauder who convinced Trump to buy Greenland back in 2017, isn't just talking anymore. He's buying his way in, through a Delaware registered company called Greenland Development Partners. Lauder has quietly purchased stakes in strategic Greenlandic companies. But here's what nobody's reporting. His business partners in Greenland are some of Greenland's most influential people with very, very close ties to Greenland's foreign minister. That's the same person negotiating Greenland's response to Trump's threats. This is economic infiltration disguised as investment and I'm going to show you exactly how it works... This is the story the media isn't telling. Let me introduce you to Greenland Development Partners. It's a Delaware registered investment consortium. And if that sounds deliberately obscure, that's because it is. Delaware corporations are famous for one thing and that's opacity. Delaware is the shell company's capital of America where you can hide ownership structures and avoid scrutiny. According to Danish newspaper Politken's investigation, Lauder is a key participant in this consortium. And the consortium has bought stakes in two Greenlandic companies. One of these companies is called Greenland Water Bank: and it's owned by two Greenlandic businessmen, Svend Hardenberg and Jรธrgen Wรฆver Johansen. Hardenberg is a former top civil servant and top adviser to the prime minister of Greenland until he got fired recently. He was also the director of Greenland's National Energy Company. In other words, he knows the system inside and out. But Johansen is far more interesting. Johansen is a former minister in several Greenlandic governments and he currently chairs the governing Siumut party in Nuuk, Greenland's capital. Siumut is one of the four parties in Greenland's current coalition government. But that's not the real kicker. His wife is Vivian Motzfeldt, the foreign minister of Greenland. That's the person responsible for handling foreign relations, including relations with the United States. Just take a moment and think about what that means. Ronald Lauder, Trump's friend and adviser on Greenland, is now in business with the husband of Greenland's foreign minister. This isn't just investment. This is influence buying at the very highest level. And I will explain why that is the case. The company Greenland Water Bank, it sounds small and innocent, and it really is. In fact, in 2024, the company's accounts showed minimum staffing costs of only $5,500 and a modest financial loss. In other words, this is a very small company. Greenland Water Bank bottles water from the Lyngmark Spring [near the town of Qeqertarsuaq on Disko Island]โฆThey sell the water locally in the brand name. Until 2024, the company was fully owned by Hardenberg and Wรฆver Hansen. Then they sold part of their shares to Lauderโs investor group. Now here's what Hardenberg told the Danish newspaper Politiken about why they took Lauderโs investment. The investment is not the most important thing for us, but rather gaining better access to the luxury market where our water should be a natural part. When they tested the water, the conclusion was that our water was the best in the world. It is on the basis of that that they became interested in participating in the development of our company. So you could say Lauder's pitch is very simple. We'll help you sell premium Greenlandic water to the American luxury market. But what did Lauder get in return? Why would one of the world's richest men invest in this tiny company in Greenland? Is it the pure water in bottles that he is interested in or is it something else? The two founders of the company weren't able to attract any other investors since the company started in 2016 until Lauder showed up. Personally, I can only see one thing Lauder gets out of this and that's a conflict of Interest pressure point and a foothold into Greenland's top elite. Direct business relationships with politically connected Greenlanders. Think about it. Sums of invested funds can now flow very easily to Svend and Jรธrgen through Greenland Water Bank. It could flow directly as large salaries or bonuses or it can be in the form of a business trip, a fancy office, luxury boats or cars. All of course in the name of the company paid by invested money from Lauder. The possibilities for enriching Svend and Jรธrgen are endless and so is the money that Lauder has at his disposal. $10 million is nothing for Lauder who is good for 5 billion USD. But being in business together can also be a pressure point. An investor can sue you and make your life a living hell, especially if the pockets are very deep and you can buy every lawyer and PR person to spin stories and drag people through the mud. That's the negative pressure angle that this co-operation can also lead to. But the most controversial part is still the connection to the active foreign minister of Greenland, Vivian Motzfeldt. The foreign minister previously served on the board of Greenland Water Bank, but she must have felt that that would have been too obvious a conflict of interest. But the problem is still there. It's the family connection to her husband that makes up the problem in the company that's now partially owned by Trump's friend, who also happens to be the brain behind Trump's acquisition plans. In other words, if Ronald Lauder decides to invest a large sum in Greenland water bank and also pay out a huge bonus to Yan, this money will also enrich Vivian.
