On 19 July 2025, he embraced Shahadat in an M-IED attack by BLA terrorists near Jabal-e-Noor, Quetta, while serving the nation with unwavering courage. Wali Tangi, Quetta, witnessed an extremely unfortunate incident of barbarism last night as a group of miscreants belonging to the BLA opened fire at a check post, resulting in the martyrdom of Subedar Qaiser Raheem. While the security forces managed to counter the terrorist attack and kill three terrorists, the fact that one innocent life was lost will remain a tragic memory. This is because Subedar Qaiser, like millions of other soldiers of the Pakistan Army, pledged to serve the country by putting the territorial integrity and safety of the nation before his life. He was the proud son of the nation who took up the job of maintaining the peace in Balochistan despite knowing the complex security dynamics of the province. Today, his funeral was attended by his family members and Corps Commander Balochistan, Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor, along with prominent officers of the Pakistan Army at Quetta Garrison. This illuminates the fact that no matter what happens, the Pakistan Army always owns its soldiers and officers alike, and even if they die in the line of duty, their family members are never left alone to suffer with the loss of their loved ones. Hence, when a soldier lays down his life for the safety and security of the country, it is the Pakistan Army that owns that soldier and his family forever. This is one of the reasons why a soldier is at ease whenever he is posted to tough and challenging terrain. The Immortal Tale of Major Adnan Aslam Shaheed’s Courage and Sepoy Muhammad Asim’s Bravery The history of #Pakistan Army is filled with stories of valor and gallantry —from Major Shabbir Sharif NH to Colonel Sher Khan NH, From Mahfooz NH to Lalak Jan NH. On 2nd September, the #Bannu Operation carved out a new chapter of sacrifice and heroism. The entire nation came to know Major Adnan, but few are aware of the bravery of Haider-e-Karrar’s Sepoy Muhammad Asim. During the FC Complex Bannu clearance operation, the khawarij (terrorists) hid inside a building and continued firing at security forces from cover. On one side, Sepoy Muhammad Asim was eliminating the enemy from behind a strong cover, and on the other, Major Adnan was advancing. Four terrorists had already been sent to hell. As Major Adnan moved forward to clear the area, a terrorist’s bullet struck his leg, and he fell to the ground. When Sepoy Muhammad Asim saw this, he rushed through a hail of bullets to rescue Major Adnan, disregarding his own life. Just as he was about to lift him up, a terrorist seized the moment and opened fire on Asim. The instant Major Adnan saw this, he pulled Asim behind him and took the bullet meant for him. As the terrorist advanced while firing, Asim pushed his benefactor behind him once more. Major Adnan later described it in these words: “He embraced me, I embraced him.” In the meantime, the forces fired back and dispatched the terrorist to hell. But in that exchange, both Major Adnan and Sepoy Muhammad Asim had taken multiple more bullets. Major Adnan and Sepoy Muhammad Asim shielded each other from death, each taking bullets meant for the other — setting an unparalleled example of comradeship. Rarely, if ever, has human history witnessed such a moment. That is why Allama Iqbal said of such lion-hearted men: “These warriors, these mysterious men of yours, whom You have blessed with the taste of divinity. Our Baba He would make the joke and join us in the laughter. That was our Baba Buhari. Behind the image of a firm and disciplined leader was a man of warmth, humility and quiet humour. He took us not just as aides, but as his children. He guided us with a fatherly hand. Baba didn’t need to raise his voice to command respect, his character did that on its own. We will miss his presence. We will miss his words , which are always measured, wise and rooted in truth. We will miss his leadership — calm in chaos, firm in storms and always anchored in principle. For those of us who walked closely with him, who learned at his feet, who saw the man beyond the title, his memory is a personal treasure.
