And the moment carries real weight, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron came together to launch this platform as part of the India-France Year of Innovation, with PM Narendra Modi in France around the G7. The success of India’s energy diplomacy under the leadership of PM Sh Narendra Modi Ji bears positive results even as the world is faced with serious geopolitical crises. Our energy imports continue uninterrupted even as supply chains choke. We are able to ensure easy availability of fuel for our citizens even as countries worldwide struggle to make energy ends meet. We are able to do this because India has diversified its import basket to 41 sources from the basket of 27 that existed in 2014. India not only secured its energy needs, but emerged stronger, more resilient, and better prepared for the future. While many countries struggled with shortages and soaring prices, India protected its citizens because we planned ahead, diversified supply chains, strengthened strategic reserves, expanded sourcing options, and took difficult decisions when required. PM Modi Ji’s vision has never been limited to managing crises. His vision is to use every crisis as an opportunity to build the future. India’s ethanol blending programme has grown from approximately 1.5% to the threshold of a 20% blending economy. Flex-fuel technology is creating new opportunities for consumers and farmers. 🇹🇼 SPACEX JUST LAUNCHED TAIWAN’S FIRST HOME-BUILT SATELLITE SpaceX fired up its Falcon 9 rocket from California and gave Taiwan’s brand-new Formosat-8 satellite a ride to space. This isn’t just some shiny tech toy. It’s the first fully built-in-Taiwan satellite meant for serious business: watching Earth, tracking disasters, and showing the world that Taiwan’s space game is no joke. The satellite, named “Chi Po-lin” after a famous Taiwanese aerial photographer, is the first in a planned constellation of eight. It’ll orbit at 561 kilometers above the Earth and snap high-res images for everything from urban planning to spotting deforestation. And no, it’s not just science class stuff. This thing helps with disaster response, climate monitoring, and yes, national security. About 84% to 86% of the satellite was built using Taiwanese-made tech, a huge leap for a country trying to grow its space independence. While we've cleaned up so much in the United States, there is a censorship class in exile who are not out of jobs. They've simply gotten jobs in Europe with the EU, and that remains the main theater of battle. And on that note, I'm honored to announce that this week I've actually begun to work with the administration on a transparency drive about the nature of those NGOs so that the American people can have more visibility about what they've been paying for to create it in the first place.” These people are still very much working for censorship and right now it’s only the Trump Admin stopping them in America

If we want to protect Ukraine, we need something thats sustainable. Enter Gravehawk: A Game-Changing, Affordable Solution Purpose-Built for Ukraine. The British-developed Gravehawk air defence system which is quite literally 1,100 times cheaper that a Patriot air defence system. The Gravehawk air defense system has been specifically designed for Ukraine, prioritising both mobility and flexibility. This is one-shot assembly: you show examples of what to build, and the robot just does it. (see original post: To share more on how this works, the robot is controlled in real time by a neural network that takes in video pixels and outputs 100Hz actions. The video below is part of the raw input passed directly into the model. I also like this view (at 1x speed) because it shows more of the (I think very cool) subtle moments of dexterity near the fingertips 👌 One-shot assembly seemed like a dream even just a year ago — it's not easy. It requires both the high-level reasoning of "what to build" (recognizing the geometry of the structures presented by the human), and the low-level visuomotor control of "how to build it" (purposefully re-orienting individual pieces and nudging them together in place). While possible to manually engineer a complex system for this (e.g. w/ hierarchical control, or explicit state representations), we were curious if our own Foundation model could do it all end-to-end with just some post-training data. Surprisingly, it just worked. Nothing about the recipe is substantially different than any other demo we’ve run in the past, and we’re excited about its implications on model capabilities: • On contextual reasoning, these models can (i) attend to task-related pixels in the peripheral view of the video inputs, and (ii) retain this knowledge in-context while ignoring irrelevant background. This is useful for generalizing to a wide range of real workflows: e.g. paying attention to what’s coming down the conveyor line, or glancing at the instructions displayed on a nearby monitor. • On dexterity, these models can produce contact-rich "commonsense" behaviors that can be difficult to pre-program or write language instructions for e.g. rolling a brick slightly to align its studs against the bottom of another, re-grasping to get a better grip or to move out of the way before a forceful press, or gently pushing the corners of a brick against the mat to rotate it in hand and stand it up vertically (i.e. extrinsic dexterity). These aspects work together to form a capability that resembles fast adaptation — a hallmark of intelligence, relevant for real use cases. This has also expanded my own perspective on what's possible with robot learning, using a recipe that's repeatable for many more skills. This milestone stands on top of the solid technical foundations we’ve built here at Generalist: hardcore controls & hardware, all in-house built models, and a data engine that "just works." We're a small group of hyper-focused engineers, and hands-down the highest talent-density team I’ve ever worked with. We're accelerating and scaling aggressively towards unlocking next-generation robot intelligence. Building Legos is just one example, and it's clear to me that we're headed towards a future where robots can do just about anything we want them to. Its coming, and we're going to make it happen.

After regrouping with our investors and the team, I’ve made the difficult decision to wind down Hike completely. Our US business, launched just nine months ago, is off to a strong start. But scaling globally would require a full recap, a reset that is not the best use of capital or time. The Big Question → We could raise the capital, but the real question is: is it worth it? Is this a climb worth pivoting for? For the first time in 13 years, my answer is no. Not for me, not for my team, and not for our investors. Why? 1. RMG was never the destination. It was a way to test unit economics and traction in India while working toward a bigger vision. In hindsight, starting in India locked us into the model and regulatory headwinds, turning a temporary path into a more permanent one. 2. The Gaming Nation vision is real, but we may be too early. The world will eventually move toward a Nation-type model in gaming and Web3 - Company 2.0. But crypto regulation is still developing globally, and we don’t want to repeat India, where we hoped for clarity that never came. 3. And most importantly, if doing a full reset, is this where I’d put my own capital and energy today? For the first time, the answer is no. The world has changed in the last decade - and so have I. There are more important problems to solve and bigger opportunities to deploy brilliant talent and capital. Looking Back & Lessons The last 13 years have been immense. Hike Messenger reached 40M MAUs and became the 35th most loved consumer brand in India at its peak. With Rush, we built a brand new kind of Casual PvP gaming platform and scaled it to 10M users and $500M+ in gross revenue in just 4 years. Our execution was super, but we could never quite make it stick. There are clear lessons to carry forward, especially on market selection: 1. Be careful with winner-take-all markets. To win, you need to go global. 2. Don’t build for today’s tech constraints. Build on the spring/summer of new technologies. 3. Regulatory clarity matters. Risk is fine; uncertainty is not. More importantly momentum is everything. And build what your heart and mind are deeply excited about. It’s the conviction that carries you through. This is both a disappointment and a hard outcome. But I choose to look on the bright side: the learnings are invaluable, and my conviction for what’s next is even stronger. To everyone who has been part of this journey - our users, our team, our investors, and our community - thank you. As a CEO, you’re only as strong as your team, and I want to give a special shout-out to mine - an incredible group of people who gave this everything. Hike This chapter ends, but the climb continues. Looking Forward I’ve always thrived at building at the forefront of technology. Over the last decade, in the little time I had to explore outside of Hike, I kept returning to the same three frontiers. And now, they feel like the great canvases for decades to come → 1. AI → For the first time, technology has both intelligence and memory. Imagine products that don’t just serve us functionally but truly know us - systems that adapt, grow, and partner with us. As a UX-first builder, this is the most exciting time to be building software. 2. Breakthroughs in Energy → Human progress has always been bound by energy. The world’s demand for energy is rising faster than ever. Breakthrough approaches, especially in physics are needed to power the future. The last century gave us mastery of fine matters and electricity, the next will move deeper, at the intersection of science and spirituality - into what yogis call divine magnetism and physicists call the quantum world or electromagnetism. From there will come technologies that today feel impossible to imagine. 3. Mastery of the Self → As AI takes on more of our work, a deeper question will rise: what now defines us? When productivity is no longer the measure of worth, humanity will turn inward. Man’s evolution will move from the intellect to intuitive attunement - a deeper connection with ourselves and the divine (which we’ll realise are one and the same). The tools, spaces, and guides that help us explore this inner world will be as transformative as any innovation in the outer one - unlocking the next level of humanity’s potential. If you put these together, a picture emerges: → the cost of intelligence trending to zero → the cost of energy trending to zero → and the cost of willpower falling lower and lower. Just imagine a future where willpower is infinite, energy is abundant, and intelligence is at our fingertips. We request the government of Bangladesh to please take care of their minorities and control the radical elements that ransacking your own country and its image. Bangladesh has been known as a very liberal and progressive country. Do you want to take the country backwards? It's a very sorry state of affairs. I hope the government of India also puts pressure and I call for the international community to not let this go the way it is going and put pressure to bring security and safety to the minorities and make people safe there." Job postings are a leading indicator that typically show up before a formal data center announcement, not after. Now here is the actual fundamental news from this week and it matters. Nebius announced a brand new business model, asset light infrastructure partnerships. Instead of financing every data center itself, outside partners will finance, own and operate the physical facilities. Nebius supplies the systems architecture, hardware design, software stack and its global sales organization. This is the same playbook major cloud providers and chipmakers have used for years, outsource the capital heavy physical layer, keep the high margin design and customer relationship layer. This directly addresses Nebius's biggest historical risk, the capital intensity of building GPU data centers fast enough to keep pace with demand. Nebius has already signed initial partnership deals under the new structure, meaning capacity can now scale globally without spending its own capital on land, steel, and power. None of this guarantees the stock stops falling in the short term, momentum is negative and the stock sits roughly 40% below its June all time high. The stock may keep falling but the thesis just got stronger and I am buying the company Nebius is becoming. Extremely bullish on Nebius and make sure to follow me Melvin for more underrated gems.

I had to read it twice to make sure it was real! Canada’s Department of National Defence has signed a 10-year lease for a so-called “spaceport” in tiny Canso, Nova Scotia. Sounds impressive — but wait until you see what’s actually there. The “spaceport” is little more than a concrete slab on a gravel lot. That means taxpayers are paying $54,000 a day for land that appears to be a fictitious launch facility. I flew to Halifax and drove three hours to Canso to see for myself. And the more you look into it, the stranger this whole thing gets. So who exactly is Maritime Launch Services? It’s the company behind this proposed Nova Scotia “spaceport” project — a company that, according to public reporting, had little visible infrastructure on site and a stock price that traded at just pennies before this federal deal was announced. Now, thanks to a $200 million, 10-year lease from the Department of National Defence, the company stands to receive roughly $20 million a year from taxpayers. And — this part is so weird — the lease payments are backdated a year. So the Liberals have agreed to pay $20 million for last year too, even though the lease was just signed a few weeks ago. $20 million a year for the “spaceport” — even though Maritime Launch Services itself only pays $13,500 a year to lease the land from the province! If the governments can call a slab of concrete a strategic national asset, what else are they hoping no one checks? Sometimes the biggest scandals aren’t hidden at all; they’re sitting in plain sight, wrapped up in official language by politicians. The problem is not just one bad deal, but a crooked system that's gotten comfortable with sweetheart deals like this.
