Speaking at the Georgia State University Andrew Young School in the United States, during the MandelaWshFellowship, I carried with me the weight of responsibility and generational urgency for Africa’s future — 𝗮 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲... 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁. ◼️𝗧𝗼 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀: The real ROI lies in co-creation. But let’s ask ourselves, should a nation of 1.4 billion still be this unprepared against disasters we know are coming? Why are we still 𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 such tragedies? Why is 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in fragile Himalayan zones allowed to continue despite repeated scientific warnings? Why is 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗻𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆, 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 about the scale of the climate crisis? ------------------------------------ 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁 has been warning us: “Climate change is assaulting us right within our homes. It is just that, the 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗱 are bearing the brunt right now and 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 are able to afford negligence. Not that they don't know the facts, but they are able to 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 them for now. The problem, therefore, is not education but honesty. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗺. From the little girl whose smile could brighten any room, to the young woman who continues to inspire through her 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁—you have grown into someone 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗼𝗳. Recently, pictures of Jyothi Yarraji receiving her gold medal went viral. Not because of the race. Not because she became India’s fastest woman in the 100m hurdles. But because of 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿. An almost empty stadium. No roaring crowd. No packed stands. No national celebration. Just silence. And that silence says far more about us than it does about her. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴? We’ve seen this pattern again and again. In India, sports 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, even when Indian athletes perform at the highest level. That is why, just days earlier, massive crowds had gathered simply to catch a 𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗽𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶. But ask those same people about the state of Indian football, or 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀, and most would have no idea. The same holds true for hockey, archery, athletics, and dozens of other sports in India. ------------------------ This is what 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁 often points out: everything ultimately 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹. As individuals, we don’t know where to put our money, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻,or what is truly worth celebrating. There are 470 in China. We've already won the AI war. My grandfather was a computer science major at Florida Atlantic University about 30 minutes south of here in Boca. And he would tell you that in the 1970s and 80s, computers were the size of Costco warehouses and now those same computers fit in our pocket. Why are we building an AI data center that in five years is going to be obsolete, is going to be one one hundredth of the size. And so I fear it's because a lot of the big land developers want to buy up cheap land, flip it for the next AI data center. So it's a greedy thing. It's a greed thing. And I don't want that to happen in our state because you know what? If you buy something and you screw up, you can return it. You could sell it. If you pave over citrus groves or the Everglades or a wetlands to build the data center, you cannot easily undo that. And so I don't want our farmers, I don't want our rural towns to be run roughshod over. My opponent, Byron Donalds, will say, well, what about the AI data center? Don't they have property rights? And I would say to him, what about the property rights of the people who live a hundred feet from the data center? What a powerful and refreshing experience it was at the University of Lagos with Mr. Peter Obi and the vibrant nursing students during the 28th NUNSA Annual General Assembly. The energy in the room was electric. The theme, “Empowering Nurses: A Catalyst for Sustainable Health Care in Africa,” wasn’t just a topic, it was a call to action. The conversation was deep, honest, and necessary. Mr. Peter Obi didn’t just speak, Mr Peter Obi connected. He highlighted something we must all pay attention to: why is nursing, such a critical profession, not advancing at the same pace as its counterparts? Where is the legislative support? Where is the investment in those who carry so much of the health burden of our people? The students responded with sharp, thoughtful questions. I watched the light in their eyes. I felt their hunger to contribute, to lead, to change the system. And I thought, this is it. This is what gives me hope. These young people, these nurses, are the backbone of our future health systems. To every nursing student and young leader out there: don’t wait for permission to lead. Own your space. Demand more. Create solutions. You are not just part of the system, you are the heartbeat of transformation. This moment at UNILAG wasn’t just an event. It was a spark. It was their CTO standing on stage, telling investors that humanoid R&D season is over. 2026, he said, is "Deployment Year One." Not research. Not demos. Deployment into real factories, real warehouses, real stores. The manufacturing ramp is getting faster. 1,000 humanoid robots in the first 2 years. Another 4,000 in the next 12 months. Another 5,000 in just 3 months after that. AGIBOT is now shipping more humanoids per quarter than most US robotics companies have built in their entire existence. Then came the announcements the industry will spend the rest of the year reacting to. AIMA. The first full-stack open architecture for embodied AI. A unified robot operating system called Link-U, three dev platforms for motion, interaction, and task creation, plus an open agent framework. Any developer can build on top of it. This is the Android play for humanoids. GO-2. A vision-language-action foundation model with Action Chain-of-Thought reasoning. Planning and execution collapsed into one model. GE-2. A world model for simulation, strategy testing, and sim-to-real transfer. AGIBOT WORLD 2026. An open-source, production-grade real-world dataset pulled from actual industrial, logistics, hotel, and commercial sites. Seven standardized "productivity packages" covering logistics sorting, retail service, security patrol, commercial cleaning, and more. Plug, deploy, bill. A 5-year, $280 million commitment to seed a global developer and partner ecosystem. Now look at the competition. Boston Dynamics has been building humanoids since 1992. Tesla's Optimus is still climbing its own hype curve. Apptronik and Agility are well-funded but pre-scale on real deployments. AGIBOT has pulled all of this off in three years, with no acquisitions, no legacy platform, and no IPO distractions. While the West is still asking when humanoids will scale, China is already shipping them by the thousand.

After regrouping with our investors and the team, I’ve made the difficult decision to wind down Hike completely. Our US business, launched just nine months ago, is off to a strong start. But scaling globally would require a full recap, a reset that is not the best use of capital or time. The Big Question → We could raise the capital, but the real question is: is it worth it? Is this a climb worth pivoting for? For the first time in 13 years, my answer is no. Not for me, not for my team, and not for our investors. Why? 1. RMG was never the destination. It was a way to test unit economics and traction in India while working toward a bigger vision. In hindsight, starting in India locked us into the model and regulatory headwinds, turning a temporary path into a more permanent one. 2. The Gaming Nation vision is real, but we may be too early. The world will eventually move toward a Nation-type model in gaming and Web3 - Company 2.0. But crypto regulation is still developing globally, and we don’t want to repeat India, where we hoped for clarity that never came. 3. And most importantly, if doing a full reset, is this where I’d put my own capital and energy today? For the first time, the answer is no. The world has changed in the last decade - and so have I. There are more important problems to solve and bigger opportunities to deploy brilliant talent and capital. Looking Back & Lessons The last 13 years have been immense. Hike Messenger reached 40M MAUs and became the 35th most loved consumer brand in India at its peak. With Rush, we built a brand new kind of Casual PvP gaming platform and scaled it to 10M users and $500M+ in gross revenue in just 4 years. Our execution was super, but we could never quite make it stick. There are clear lessons to carry forward, especially on market selection: 1. Be careful with winner-take-all markets. To win, you need to go global. 2. Don’t build for today’s tech constraints. Build on the spring/summer of new technologies. 3. Regulatory clarity matters. Risk is fine; uncertainty is not. More importantly momentum is everything. And build what your heart and mind are deeply excited about. It’s the conviction that carries you through. This is both a disappointment and a hard outcome. But I choose to look on the bright side: the learnings are invaluable, and my conviction for what’s next is even stronger. To everyone who has been part of this journey - our users, our team, our investors, and our community - thank you. As a CEO, you’re only as strong as your team, and I want to give a special shout-out to mine - an incredible group of people who gave this everything. Hike This chapter ends, but the climb continues. Looking Forward I’ve always thrived at building at the forefront of technology. Over the last decade, in the little time I had to explore outside of Hike, I kept returning to the same three frontiers. And now, they feel like the great canvases for decades to come → 1. AI → For the first time, technology has both intelligence and memory. Imagine products that don’t just serve us functionally but truly know us - systems that adapt, grow, and partner with us. As a UX-first builder, this is the most exciting time to be building software. 2. Breakthroughs in Energy → Human progress has always been bound by energy. The world’s demand for energy is rising faster than ever. Breakthrough approaches, especially in physics are needed to power the future. The last century gave us mastery of fine matters and electricity, the next will move deeper, at the intersection of science and spirituality - into what yogis call divine magnetism and physicists call the quantum world or electromagnetism. From there will come technologies that today feel impossible to imagine. 3. Mastery of the Self → As AI takes on more of our work, a deeper question will rise: what now defines us? When productivity is no longer the measure of worth, humanity will turn inward. Man’s evolution will move from the intellect to intuitive attunement - a deeper connection with ourselves and the divine (which we’ll realise are one and the same). The tools, spaces, and guides that help us explore this inner world will be as transformative as any innovation in the outer one - unlocking the next level of humanity’s potential. If you put these together, a picture emerges: → the cost of intelligence trending to zero → the cost of energy trending to zero → and the cost of willpower falling lower and lower. Just imagine a future where willpower is infinite, energy is abundant, and intelligence is at our fingertips.
