AOC: The Republican Party’s brand is fear. And they have to constantly churn out what they want people to be afraid of—to be afraid of socialists, to be afraid of immigrants, to be afraid of women. They constantly want Americans in fear of somebody because, if you are not afraid of someone who is your neighbor, you’re going to realize who’s actually pickpocketing you. And that is the large corporations that are engaged in profiteering and jacking up your prices for no good reason. It’s going to be this administration that is engaged in record levels of swindling, theft, tariffs, and attacks on your housing. And so this is kind of their new thing of the day. But I think that people are feared out. I think everyone’s nerves are shot from constantly being taught and told what country, person, or community to be afraid of. And they just want a solution. They want their groceries to be more affordable. They want to figure out how we’re going to get health care. They want our housing to get under control. And I think that we’re ready for an affirmative vision, and we’re ready for an affirmative agenda.

I’ve seen a lot of negative comments from people out of state during these floods in Texas. This woman nails it right here. “This is not about politics. One thing about a Texan, we’re gonna’ pick up and we’re gonna’ help our neighbors. We don’t give a damn who they voted for in this time of need. What needs to be done is we need to find these babies. That’s what we are worried about. No politics, no nothing….. We all pull our boots up and help each other. We don’t give a damn- blue, yellow, orange, white, brown, we all are gonna’ help each other…..Texas Strong.” She speaks the gospel truth. Sad she had to say it but that’s how we roll in Texas. That’s the difference between us. We don’t care what party you belong to. We don’t care what race you are. We don’t care if you dislike us, dislike our politics. #JACKSON's ment at #GOT7_NESTFESTinBKK_Day1 👑 since i can’t speak much thai, i'll speak in korean. first of all, what i want to say is, this has been a dream for all 7 of us. and i want to say thank you for waiting for us. because realistically, as time passes, you never really know what will happen. but the fact that we’re still here, that means everything to us. of course, we’re now in different companies, but what i want to say is, everyone here is struggling in some way. honestly, there’s not a single person who isn’t. if the seven of us can bring you even just a moment of happiness, that’s something we always talk about when we’re together. of course, business is business, that’s reality. but what makes us a bit different is… we don’t really care about that. the 7 of us grew up together, since i was 17. that's what "brothers" means to us. we don’t know how long we’ll be able to have moments like this. but in life, for the rest of our lives, we’ll keep giving it everything we’ve got. there’s one thing that hasn’t changed and never will. no matter what, even when we’re in our 40s, 50s, 60s… even if we can’t dance anymore, even if dancing breaks our bones, we’ll still do it. even sitting might break our bones at that point. but happiness… everyone has a different standard for it. and that’s our standard of happiness. thank you.

Shuler: If you think about every industrial revolution we’ve been through, working people have helped us make that transition. It’s really because we’ve helped tame the technology and figured out how to use it in the most effective way. So I think your question about augmentation versus replacement is the big question we have. If we can all agree that this is about making our jobs better, safer, easier, and more productive, then we’re all in. But if you’re looking to de-skill, dehumanize, and replace workers, to put people out on the street with no path forward, then absolutely you’re going to have a revolution. So I think that’s something we all need to be very real about and think seriously about. If we’re going to have productivity gains, working people—the ones who make these industries happen—need to share in that. There hasn’t been a lot of discussion about that here. Of course, in terms of how we create policies, how we create tax infrastructure, whether or not we are redistributing—yes, that word is a dirty word around here—we need to talk about it and confront how we’re going to make sure working people share in the gains of these technologies. And if you look at the numbers of jobs, let’s talk about job quality. Yes, maybe there are a lot of jobs created, but what kind of jobs are we talking about? Are they jobs that can sustain a family? Is it a job where people can actually work one job? One job should be enough.

Recently asked Coach Roberts about being a “win now” team while still developing younger talent, like Sania Feagin and Ta’Niya Latson: Essentially, the Sparks are focused on pursuing a championship and not development. “I think every team in the league wants to win now,” said Roberts. “But we also recognize we’re in LA and we’re one of the original franchises. I didn’t come to LA to rebuild or do some slow thing. I know KP [Kelsey Plum] didn’t, and Nneka [Ogwumike] didn’t. Our front office has that in mind as well in terms of getting players that will help us win now, but are also the right fit for what we’re trying to do and how we’re trying to play.
