When the season began, many doubted Arteta's ability to win a trophy. His tactics and decisions faced staunch criticism, and even I questioned if he was right for the job. Critics even questioned how he dresses, walks and behaves on the touchline. He is too emotional, some said. Why is he always agitated? He is too animated. He doesn't inspire his players enough. The role is too big for him, others loudly bleated. Then came the 4-match blip, during which Arsenal were knocked out of two tournaments, and the 10-point gap was closed. The epitaphs on Arteta's grave were already erected. He has bottled it again. He must be sacked. He is not fit for the job. They described Pep and others as perfect and how much better they were than Arteta. Last Monday, we all saw Arsenal place one hand on the Premiership trophy, and I watched from the Emirates as Arsenal qualified for our first Champions League final in 20 years. Even in this moment of clear history unfolding before our eyes, some still maintain that Arsenal should have scored 5 goals, not just the solitary goal at the Emirates. Arteta is still not good enough. They say oh he will still lose the final and bottle the league with 3 games to go. In all this, Arteta has remained focused. He knows that the only opinion that truly matters is the Board's. They set his KPIs. They get briefings from him on the endgame. His tunnel vision will see him challenge for the trophy and possibly win the Champions League for the first time in Arsenal's 139-year history in Budapest. He will most likely end a 22-year Premier League drought as well. That will be his legacy. They can hate him and find all the faults, but one day, a statue of Arteta will be erected at the Emirates Stadium, and all the naysayers will have is the bitter aftertaste of their bile and hate in their mouths. This post is NOT about football, Arteta, or Arsenal, but about posterity and for those discerning enough to see its true message. Eyes Fixed On The Prize! ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ญ

๐ŸšจBreaking News Arsenal Club Statement via Mikel Arteta. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธArteta: On squad planning for 2026/27 As we head into the new season, weโ€™ve been working closely with every player to plan for what comes next. We are delighted that Ethan Nwaneri will be staying with us. He will play an important role in the upcoming season. Ethan has shown tremendous growth, maturity and quality, and we believe he is ready to contribute at the highest level. We are also very excited about Myles Skelly. Based on the quality he has shown in training and in matches, we believe he has the attributes to compete as a full starter for us next season. Regarding Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira. we have huge respect for their professionalism and for everything they have given to Arsenal. However, as part of our ambition to compete for the Premier League and Champions League, we must ensure every position meets the standard required. After careful discussions, we feel it is in the best interests of both the club and the players to explore opportunities where they can play regularly and be central to a project. We will support them fully through that process. In terms of recruitment, we are working to bring in players who can elevate the squad further. Out of respect to other clubs and players, we will not comment on any direct names at this stage. We are building a squad we believe in, and with the group we hope to walk with this season, we are really excited for whatโ€™s ahead.

UPDATE: The deal is sealed! This afternoon, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab (Tokunbo Wahab), met with Adetokunbo Ogunnoiki (tokunbo), a young innovator, who gained viral attention last Saturday for his daring proposal published on X, detailing how his startup can deploy technology to create seamless access to the newly-installed public toilets in strategic locations in Lagos. The viral post was brought to the Commissionerโ€™s attention, prompting him to invite the whiz kid. Adetokunbo, in company of his startup partner, Ademola Gbadero, presented his idea to the Commissioner in about 30mins. They duo demonstrated how they developed a tech solution to solve similar challenges on their university campus, the University of Ibadan; the platform, the said, has successfully helped students locate clean and available toilets within the school. The Commissioner interviewed the young innovators in company of his cabinet colleague, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Electronic Geographic Information Systems (e-GIS), Dr. Olajide Babatunde, and the Director of Sanitation Services in the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Dr. Sanuth. In their PowerPoint presentation, Adetokunbo and Ademola outlined their proposal for the development of an advanced model of their tech platform, which would enable commuters in Lagos to easily find clean and available public toilets in real-time using geo-mapping. They explained how their platform would provide users with information about toilet availability at every location, cleanliness ratings, walking directions and estimated time to walk to toilet. The Government team engaged the young innovators on their presentation, identifying areas for improvement and also highlighting potential limitations that could be addressed after the launch. Fascinated by the idea, the Commissioner approved Adetokunboโ€™s proposal. He also requested a comprehensive budget for the project be submitted in the next meeting coming in a few days. This project will further bolster the drive for a โ€œCleaner Lagosโ€ being championed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Adetokunbo Ogunnoiki, 24, is a fresh graduate of Mathematics from the University of Ibadan. His colleague, Ademola Gbadero, is a 24-year-old final year student of Mechanical Engineering, at the same school. Caption: Adetokunbo in White native, Ademola in carton colour shirt.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธRemembering Michael Coleman, R.I.P ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Galway GAA are deeply saddened at the sudden and untimely passing of the former Galway Hurling Captain Michael Coleman of the Abbeyknockmoy HC Club. Michael represented Galway with distinction at Minor, Intermediate and Senior levels. He won an All-Ireland Under 21 Hurling title with Galway in 1983. He went on to play a starring role at midfield when Galway retained the All-Ireland Senior title against Tipperary in 1988. In an Intercounty career spanning over 10 years, Michael also won three National League Titles including captaining the winning Galway team in 1996. His contribution on the National stage was recognised by his selection on three All-Star hurling teams in 1989, 1990 and 1995. Michael also represented University College Galway in the Fitzgibbon Cup as well as being the star of the St. Jarlath's College team that narrowly lost the Connacht Senior B Post Primary Hurling Final in 1981. Michael took great pride in his club and was an important part of the Abbeyknockmoy team which won the Galway Senior Hurling Championship in 1988. When his playing days were over his commitment to the club was unwavering: serving as mentor, coach and officer over the years. Michael was also active within Bรกireoirรญ Na Gaillimhe, a group consisting of former Galway hurlers. Michael was coach with the Leitrim Senior Hurlers when they claimed the Lory Meagher Cup in 2019. Outside of the GAA, Michael was a committed community activist involving himself in many activities within the locality. He will be sorely missed by the Galway GAA community. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his wife Mary, daughter Sinead and son Dara, his extended family, the Abbeyknockmoy Hurling club and community at this incredibly difficult time. Ar dheis Dรฉ go raibh a anam dรญlis Funeral arrangements as follows: Grant me O Lord, a hurlerโ€™s skill, With strength of arm and speed of limb Unerring eye for the flying ball And courage to match whateโ€™er befall May my stroke be steady, and my aim be true My actions manly and my misses few No matter what way the game may go May I rest in friendship with every foe When the final whistle for me has blown And I stand at last before Godโ€™s judgement throne May the great referee when he calls my name Say, you hurled like a man; you played the game.

RYAN GARCIA WINS FIGHT AGAINST DIDDY PAL DEVIN HANEY & STATED IN HIS VICTORY SPEECH HE PUT HIS REPUTATION ON THE LINE FOR THE KIDS WHILE EVERYONE ELSE STAYED SILENT! Ryan Garcia defeated Diddy pal Devin Haney in their much-anticipated fight Saturday night in New York. Garcia dedicated this fight to children sex trafficked by elites, and he stated in his post-fight victory interview that he put his reputation on the line for the kids. โ€œAll I do is love God and try to help the children and you guys straight hated on me โ€” you guys donโ€™t love the truth,โ€ Garcia said. โ€œIโ€™m putting my fucking reputation on the line for all the kids in the world and everyoneโ€™s staying fucking quiet โ€” but me.โ€ Garcia vowed in March to dedicate his fight against Haney to unnamed children abused by shadowy elites in a video he posted on social media. Garcia has trolled Haney by wearing a T-shirt of Haney in a pool with Diddy, at one of his alleged โ€œfreak partiesโ€, during preparation training for their fight. Diddy is currently under federal investigation for child sex trafficking and several other crimes. Just an FYI in case anyone who is reading this has been living under a rock these past few months. Haney talked on the record recently about how he used to work for Diddyโ€™s water company AquaHydrate. Earlier this month, Haney also addressed attending Diddy parties claiming there were โ€œhoesโ€ everywhere. "Diddy had a bunch of hoes at his house. I made my way to the house, and shit, the fuck?" he said. "I mean, there's hoes everywhere, and Diddy had some parties, whatever." I hope that Garciaโ€™s final knockout punch that took down Haney wakes him up to the fucking reality that many of those โ€œhoesโ€ he referred to at Diddyโ€™s parties were most likely sex trafficking victims. And thereโ€™s nothing โ€œwhateverโ€ about child sex trafficking. Congrats to RYAN GARCIA โ€” God always wins and Christ is King! Pass it on.

Today the 65th SEC Tournament tips off at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., and while Alabama Menโ€™s Basketball is second in the conference with eight tournament championships, a former Crimson Tide head coach considers a game that didnโ€™t result in a title as the greatest in tournament history. Wimp Sanderson, who won five SEC Tournaments and played in the championship game nine of 12 years, still considers the 90-89 semifinal victory over Arkansas on March 14, 1992, at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center as the greatest tournament game heโ€™s ever seen. Elliot Washington, who Sanderson signed after watching him play half-court only, hit a three-pointer as time dwindled down to 1.5 seconds to give the Crimson Tide its one-point victory. Washington only scored six points against the Razorbacks, but the last three were the biggest of the game. โ€œA knock-down, drag-out game with athletes like youโ€™ve never seen,โ€ Sanderson said. โ€œ(Latrell) Sprewell hits a shot to cut it two and we go back down the floor and we knew the right guy to foul. He missed the shot and we called timeout. โ€œWhen we broke the huddle, the ball ends up in (James) Hollywood Robinsonโ€™s hands. Hollywood wouldnโ€™t throw it to his mother if she was open. He ended up with the ball around the top of the circle and took it on the dribble drive to the goal. Arkansas was going after the ball and he kicked it in the corner to Elliot. When he shot it, Iโ€™m running down the bench saying I believe the cotton-picking ball is going in.โ€ In the 1991-92 academic year, expansion actually started with basketball as newcomers Arkansas and South Carolina joined the SEC. With the addition of the Razorbacks, a Final Four team in 1990, a new hardwood rivalry started between Alabama and Arkansas. During the regular season, the teams held serve on their home courts, Alabama winning 65-63 in Tuscaloosa and Arkansas 90-87 in Fayetteville. When the semifinals of the SEC Tournament created the pivotal third meeting, fans on that afternoon were treated to one of the most thrilling games in tournament history. However, the emotionally and physically drained Crimson Tide had little energy left in the championship game as it lost to Kentucky the next day. โ€œWe were dead tired,โ€ Sanderson admitted. โ€œIt wore us out.โ€
