At a Q&A, John MacArthur is asked about Christian nationalism. The kingdom of God is not of this world. Jesus said that. He said, โ€œMy kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would [fight].โ€ His kingdom is not of this world. The kingdom of this world is a separate world; theyโ€™re not linked together. Let me say it another way: Nothing that happens in any nation, whether itโ€™s a Communist nation, a Muslim nation, or a โ€œquasi-Christianโ€ nation, or an atheistic nationโ€”nothing in that nation politically, socially has anything to do with the advancement of the kingdom of God, because the kingdom of God is separate from that system. God, in His sovereignty, is building His church, โ€œand the gates of Hades will not prevail against it,โ€ Jesus said. So the idea that you should link up some political effort, some political process, some social process, some gain of power or influence in a culture as part of the advance of Christianity is alien to Christianity. You never have our Lord approaching anything like that, nor the apostles, and particularly the apostle Paul. He sought to gain no favor with the Roman Empire whatsoever, or for that matter, with any other of the rulers that he ran into during his life. Now, that is not to say that we are indifferent to what happens in the nation. Weโ€™ve been talking about that the last couple of Sunday mornings. We have to be the people who uphold righteousness. When we come to vote, we want to vote for that which is the most righteous option. Obviously, we canโ€™t vote in righteousness, but we have to vote in a way that reflects our commitment to the righteousness of God. So we couldnโ€™t possibly elect somebody who was an abortionist, somebody who was LGBTQ or LGBTQ-affirming, or any other deviation from Godโ€™s righteous moral standard. So it gets harder, doesnโ€™t it, nowadays, because even sometimes when politicians are more conservative and anti-abortion, they may be sinful and wicked in some other categories, and itโ€™s very hard to find out who is really honest and who is simply dishonest and seeking power. But in the end, we do what we can with the understanding that the responsibility of the church is not to advance the kingdom of this world. Thatโ€™s a faulty viewpoint. Christian nationalism is usually tied to what is called post-millennialism, and that is the view that the church, somehow, by influencing the culture, can bring in the kingdom of Christ. In other words, itโ€™s the idea not that Christ returns and sets up His kingdom, but that the church establishes His kingdom and then hands it to Him. That is not what Scripture teaches. What Scripture teaches is what weโ€™re learning from the book of Revelation. Things are going to get worse and worse and worse. And the end of human history is not the church triumphant, reigning in the world and taking over the structures of human kingdoms; thatโ€™s not what happens. At the end of human history, the believers are persecuted and murdered, and thatโ€™s the very opposite of what Christian nationalism would anticipate. So we believe the Bible teaches that things get worse and worse, headed toward the wrath of God, which weโ€™re seeing in Revelation, and then our Lord returns, Himself, to establish His kingdom is clearly what we read in the book of Revelation. OK?

This is my facsimile copy of Codex Sinaiticus, the first few major codices like the original this is a photocopy of, are our very first versions of what we today would consider a Genesis to Revelation copy of the Bible. Codex Sinaiticus took upwards of nearly 400 sheep to make and would have cost the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of dollars in todayโ€™s currency. By the 4th century when this was made, the perspective would have been that this contained the scripture more than that it was scripture. All of these major early codices operated as mini ancient libraries. And all of our earliest examples of them: whether thatโ€™s Codex Sinaiticus, Alexandrinus, Vaticanus, Washingtonianus, etc., have Christian books included within the contents of their covers that we today donโ€™t consider scripture. So it is completely incorrect to claim that early church inclusion in a codex equates to scriptural reception. Thatโ€™s just not true unless youโ€™re willing to argue books like 4th Maccabees, The Shephered of Hermas, Epistle of Barnabas, and 1st Clement and 2nd Clement, that no church today accepts as scripture, should be included within your Bible. Likewise, the church recognizing books does not mean that their ability to do so gives them the authority. To say that the church gave us our Bible is like saying that the postal service gave you your mail. Your letter carrier is not the progenitor of the mail you receive. Those were written prior to, and even despite, your mail man or woman eventually getting them in your mailbox. The church is the servant and subsidiary of scripture, not the origin. This is why Iโ€™ve said in the past that the Bible made the church, the church didnโ€™t make the Bible. Watch the full video: See John Meadeโ€™s talk on canon lists:

This masterful clip from Mark A. Garcia is a MUST WATCH for all Protestants who engage with Roman Catholics. โ€œRoman Catholic is not ever to be confused with old, or patristic, or medieval, or even pre-Reformational. We need to be very careful to avoid falling prey to that mindset which suggests Roman Catholic is everything up to the Reformation, and Protestant is everything from the Reformation forward. That, in fact, gives away the whole argument to Roman Catholics in the very context at issue of the Reformation and post-Reformation assemblies, who really is teaching, professing, believing, and worshipping in terms of the one faith, one holy catholic and apostolic church, the one faith given through scripture to the church. Roman Catholicism, technically speaking, is an innovation which takes its historic point ofdeparture at the Council of Trent. Not until the 1540s and following, at the Council of Trent, when the church represented in that assembly definitively and publicly ruled out of its communion what we now, as a result, call Protestant churches, not until they had taken this ecclesiastical action, public and objective action, to rule out of the visible church, those we now call Protestants, was there even such a thing inmeaningful terms as a Roman Catholic Church? As a result of that action, you see, they not only created Protestantism as a side, as a byproduct, as a consequence of that action, theyalso created themselves as the Roman Catholic Church.โ€ Credits: Greystone Theological Institute - Rescuing Mary From Rome

What We Just Witnessed At The Olympics Is Exactly What Happened At The Fall Of Rome โ€œWidespread immorality. โ€”Widespread acceptance of same sex relationships, in fact, it became preferred. โ€” All religions were accepted except one, Christianity.โ€ Itโ€™s the End of an Empire Shocking similarities between America today and the end of the Roman Empire โ€Œ โ€œThis is what happened in Rome & tell me if you see them going on in America: โ€Œ - At the fall of Rome, over half of Rome was living on doles or government assistance. In other words, over half of Rome was on welfare. โ€Œ - Number two, Rome began an open border policy. The Germanic tribes began pouring in, taking over the land and what jobs there were. They took over all the jobs, and then they eventually bankrupted the Roman financial system. โ€Œ - Number three, they built coliseums to distract people with sport. They didn't want you to see what they were doing. They didn't want you to see what was going on. So they built bigger and bigger and bigger arenas and coliseums and, and do you know who was speaking out against it? The Christians. So do you know who they put right in the middle of the Cossum? The Christians. โ€Œ - Here's the last one. Widespread immorality, including the widespread acceptance of same sex relationships. In fact, it became preferred and the acceptance of all gods, all religions were accepted except one Christianity. โ€Œ Could it be that America is on the same decline as the Roman Empire? Could it be, that's why America is not in Bible prophecy, or could it be that the rapture is going to take place and the Christians in America are gonna be taken out of here? And when you take the church out of America, this nation will crumble.โ€

Whilst you should never walk away from THE Church, sometimes you SHOULD walk away from A church. Just like before entering into a marriage covenant you must analyse the person, you should analyse a church before getting planted. You must find out where the Church stands on core doctrines. โžก๏ธ The Trinity. If they preach oneness, if they deny the trinity, donโ€™t go - this is heresy. โžก๏ธ Christology. What do they believe about the divinity of Christ? If you donโ€™t believe Jesus is God, like โ€œJehovahโ€™s Witnesses,โ€ if you believe Jesus was created, thatโ€™s not my Jesus and youโ€™re not a true Church of Christ. โžก๏ธ The authority of scripture. Bibliology โ€“ do they believe the Bible is the inspired word of God? โžก๏ธ Salvation. Do they believe in salvation through faith alone? Or do they believe in sacraments saving you? โžก๏ธ Heaven & Hell. Do they believe heaven and hell is a real place? Do they believe unless you believe in Jesus - you will be cast into hell? If not, donโ€™t go. This is heresy. They must preach the FULL COUNSEL of Godโ€™s Word. That means, not preaching about blessing and Godโ€™s love every single week without any mention of sin or repentance. A CHURCH THAT COMPROMISES THE TRUTH IS NOT A CHURCH AT ALL. AVOID CHURCHES THAT AVOID CONTROVERISAL TOPICS OR TOPICS CONSIDERED โ€œPOLITICALโ€ LIKE GAY MARRIAGE OR ABORTION. IF YOU SEE A RAINBOW FLAG, RUN. IF THEY DO NOT UPHOLD THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE, RUN. As Paul Washer said โ€œDonโ€™t go to Church closest to you, but closest to the Bible.โ€ Drive as far as you need to get to a Church that does not shy away from the truth of Godโ€™s word.

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง In 51 AD, the biggest kingdom in Britain was ruled by a queen named Cartimandua. ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง When a fugitive British king came to her hall asking for sanctuary, she put him in chains and gave him to Rome. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Her name was Cartimandua. Queen of the Brigantes. The largest tribal kingdom in pre-Roman Britain. Her land stretched from the Humber to the Tyne. Sea to sea across northern England. Her capital sat at Stanwick. The largest Iron Age earthwork in northern Britain. And at its centre stood a queen. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ When Rome invaded Britain in 43 AD, most of the tribes fought. Cartimandua did not. She made a treaty. She would be a client queen. Her kingdom would keep itself. Rome would not invade her land. In return, she would deliver Rome what Rome asked for. In 51 AD, the fugitive Caratacus came to her hall. The Catuvellaunian king who had fought Rome for 9 years. He asked for sanctuary. She had a treaty with Rome. And a kingdom to protect. She put him in chains and gave him to Rome. Her own warriors did not forgive her. Her husband Venutius did not forgive her. He led a rebellion against her. She divorced him and took his armour-bearer as her new partner. The kingdom split. The civil war began. โš”๏ธ Rome saved her. In 69 AD, she lost her throne. Venutius took the kingdom. And in 71 AD, Rome took the kingdom from him. The largest kingdom in Britain became a Roman province. But the people did not vanish. They became Britons. Their descendants became the British. And Yorkshire still calls itself God's own country. Britain has been politically complex for 2,000 years. Queens have ruled here. Choices have been made here. The land remembers. โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ” Our mission is to put our history back in our books. Most Britons have never heard her name. Our work is made in Britain, for Britain. Teach your kids her name. ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ‘‰ ๐Ÿ‘ˆ Be part of us. โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Be Proud Of Us. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง
