Your 66 book canon is a 19th century invention, it was not apostolic at all. So when you say to appeal to “Scripture alone” i say which Scripture? and who had the authority to determine it? I’ll tell you who, The British & Foreign Bible Society in 1830, for money saving purposes. Sad. Sola Scriptura is not taught in Scripture. No verse states “Scripture alone” or “all souls are subject to the scriptures alone” no verbiage like this exists in the Bible. Protestants cannot produce a single biblical passage that clearly teaches Sola Scriptura alone excluding oral tradition. In fact the Bible repeatedly teaches to hold fast to oral apostolic tradition.

Baptised Catholics who walk away from the true Church often claim they have “seen the light.” But let’s be clear, that is not the light. No failure of a priest. No scandal of a bishop. Not even the weakness of a Pope is ever a justification to abandon the Catholic Church. The truth is this: you don’t leave Christ because of Judas. The Catholic Church is not built on the perfection of men. it is built on Christ Himself and sustained by the Eucharist. Those who truly understand and value the Eucharist do not walk away from it. Call it what it is, not “seeing the light,” but turning away from it. Leaving the Catholic Church is synonymous with turning away from the Light.

If you are a Christian and not a Catholic, then that is a big problem, and I genuinely feel sad for you. One of the things I love Fr. Beard for is how he says things with authority. He doesn't mince his words, especially when it comes to the doctrines of the church. Anyone who rejects the Eucharist has rejected Jesus and will not go to Heaven. Jesus said this himself in simple words.

The Christian kvetching over this clip is pathetic. Here is the full context. In the interview Spielberg is not calling for the abolition or subversion of Christianity or the Church. The film literally includes a cardinal, a nun quoting scripture, and believers wrestling with what alien life would mean for their faith. Spielberg's conclusion is not that Christianity is false, but that god would still have dominion over alien life just as he does over humanity. This is directly out of mainstream Catholic theology. His point is the opposite of what people are claiming. He is suggesting that the creator god shared by Jews and Christians rules the entire universe, and that aliens or other unexplained phenomena would ultimately fall under that god's authority and reinforce it. That is the psyop, not "Christianity is being destroyed/subverted." Jews are not trying to destroy Christianity. Enough of this insecurity and persecution complex. Even by arguing this it shows that you have no idea what is going on.

This is my facsimile copy of Codex Sinaiticus, the first few major codices like the original this is a photocopy of, are our very first versions of what we today would consider a Genesis to Revelation copy of the Bible. Codex Sinaiticus took upwards of nearly 400 sheep to make and would have cost the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of dollars in today’s currency. By the 4th century when this was made, the perspective would have been that this contained the scripture more than that it was scripture. All of these major early codices operated as mini ancient libraries. And all of our earliest examples of them: whether that’s Codex Sinaiticus, Alexandrinus, Vaticanus, Washingtonianus, etc., have Christian books included within the contents of their covers that we today don’t consider scripture. So it is completely incorrect to claim that early church inclusion in a codex equates to scriptural reception. That’s just not true unless you’re willing to argue books like 4th Maccabees, The Shephered of Hermas, Epistle of Barnabas, and 1st Clement and 2nd Clement, that no church today accepts as scripture, should be included within your Bible. Likewise, the church recognizing books does not mean that their ability to do so gives them the authority. To say that the church gave us our Bible is like saying that the postal service gave you your mail. Your letter carrier is not the progenitor of the mail you receive. Those were written prior to, and even despite, your mail man or woman eventually getting them in your mailbox. The church is the servant and subsidiary of scripture, not the origin. I was up 650k, I thought it was gonna go down another 50, 100 bucks, and then it just reversed back higher and I gave back most of that profit. But then I re-nailed it, and that was a big one. You really gotta believe it will do what you think it will do.

If Christ founded one Church, where was your church before Luther? And if the Catholic Church was not the Church founded by Christ, then where was the true Church for 1,500 years? Christ promised the gates of Hades would not prevail against His Church. So what happened? Did the Church vanish? Did Christianity completely collapse into error until the 1500s? Many appeal to “corruption” or “creeping heresy,” but cannot answer the basic historical questions: Who specifically corrupted the Church? What doctrines were changed? When did it happen? Why is there no identifiable historic ‘true church’ separate from Catholicism before the Reformation? A visible Church existed before Luther. The question is whether it was Catholic.

Whilst you should never walk away from THE Church, sometimes you SHOULD walk away from A church. Just like before entering into a marriage covenant you must analyse the person, you should analyse a church before getting planted. You must find out where the Church stands on core doctrines. ➡️ The Trinity. If they preach oneness, if they deny the trinity, don’t go - this is heresy. ➡️ Christology. What do they believe about the divinity of Christ? If you don’t believe Jesus is God, like “Jehovah’s Witnesses,” if you believe Jesus was created, that’s not my Jesus and you’re not a true Church of Christ. ➡️ The authority of scripture. Bibliology – do they believe the Bible is the inspired word of God? ➡️ Salvation. Do they believe in salvation through faith alone? Or do they believe in sacraments saving you? ➡️ Heaven & Hell. Do they believe heaven and hell is a real place? Do they believe unless you believe in Jesus - you will be cast into hell? If not, don’t go. This is heresy. They must preach the FULL COUNSEL of God’s Word. That means, not preaching about blessing and God’s love every single week without any mention of sin or repentance. A CHURCH THAT COMPROMISES THE TRUTH IS NOT A CHURCH AT ALL. AVOID CHURCHES THAT AVOID CONTROVERISAL TOPICS OR TOPICS CONSIDERED “POLITICAL” LIKE GAY MARRIAGE OR ABORTION. Followers have asked me to comment on this video about Christian Nationalism from the perspective of a Catholic-Christian sympathetic to Orthodox Christianity. This X Post is exclusively & only about the pastors interviewed below, no one else. We should avoid the ideology of both Christian Nationalism interpreted by the far-right & radical feminism on the far-left. Men of the book (Christians, Muslims & the Jewish People) should walk together shoulder to shoulder in the name of synodality. We should support & promote traditional Christianity that is practiced voluntarily, patriarchy in the household, a true respect for women, and a respect for American culture. 1) Women must have and maintain the right to vote. We men should respect and defend this right, and we must protect the 19th Amendment. 2) Wives should voluntarily choose to submit to their husbands, and husbands should lead their wives and family. 3) We must have patriarchal households to maintain basic societal order, but not an exclusively patriarchal society. Two parties in a household who are partners will more likely than not constantly argue and eventually divorce. 4) Women who first serve their families as traditional homemakers absolutely deserve to be societal leaders, just as Our Lady reigns queen of heaven (Revelation 12:1-2). Christ turned to his disciple and said, "Woman, behold your son... Behold, your mother." (John 19:26-27). The Catholic and Orthodox Churches are both approximately 2,000 years old, tracing their origins back to the apostles. They tragically separated formally in 1054 CE. Catholics and Orthodox follow a tradition that includes not only Scripture but also Sacred Tradition and the authority of the Church. This tradition is seen as an essential guide for interpreting the Bible. Our 3rd wave feminist friends who attempt to claim the title of Christian while also practicing mysticism, Neo-Paganism, astrology, and worshipping the divine feminine often cite the doctrine of sola scriptura (Scripture alone). Separately, Reformed Protestant Christians also follow the doctrine of sola scriptura. Sola scriptura means they view the Bible as the sole infallible source of Christian teaching, which often leads to varied interpretations.(Anglicans and Episcopalians are slightly different in their view of tradition.) People interpret the Bible through their own lens, and some do so wrongly. This is why church authority, a Patriarch devoted to God alone, and his subordinate Patriarchs, are essential to guide us on our spiritual journey. The issue with Christian Nationalism is that its followers are typically Protestants who hold a co-equal authority with other Protestants: Sola Scriptura. For example, both Orthodox Christians and Catholics understand that wives must submit to their husbands because church tradition and its patriarchal leadership reinforce the Bible's teachings on the matter. The consequence is that Catholic nations often remain Catholic, and Orthodox nations remain Orthodox. Sola Scriptura gives radical feminism fertile ground for growth. When feminism takes root in Non-Denominational Protestantism, as seen in nations like Sweden, the UK, and Norway, men may feel they have no other choice but to turn to masculine, patriarchal religions such as Catholicism (Christianity) or Islam, just so they can find a wifeable bride that isn't subject to extremist feminism. For example, in Protestant Christianity, when a Protestant reads Ephesians 5:21, "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ," progressive feminists might use this verse to argue that husbands should submit to wives. They often ignore the fact that Eve was made for and from Adam as a helpmate. Since Catholics and Orthodox have church authority to enforce the correct interpretation of Scripture, Protestant Christian Nationalists, who lack that church authority, are vulnerable to such misinterpretations. Catholics and Orthodox are not. Catholics and Orthodox have Patriarchs; our Protestant friends do not. We should promote Christian patriarchy exclusively in households, embrace classical liberalism, reject political extremism, say no to populism, and respect American exceptionalism. Since Catholics and Orthodox have church authority to enforce the correct interpretation of Scripture, Protestant Christian Nationalists, who lack that church authority, are vulnerable to such misinterpretations. Catholics and Orthodox are not. Catholics and Orthodox have Patriarchs; our Protestant friends do not. We should promote Christian patriarchy exclusively in households, embrace classical liberalism, reject political extremism, say no to populism, and respect American exceptionalism. These are my opinions alone and are only directed towards the pastors in the below video, no one else and no other organization. The last thing a Protestant Calvinist pastor wants is a "New Crusade."
