Inputs from the CO have been received reassuring the citizens of Army’s continued efforts to... rescue all survivors. Additional Army columns along with Army tracker dogs, drones, logistic drones, earthmoving equipment, etc have been moved ahead to supplement the resources at Harsil to hasten the efforts. Army and Airforce helicopters for essential supplies, medicines and evacuation of the marooned are also being coordinated. The rescue columns, in coordination with civilian agencies evacuated 80–90 civilians, including children, to safety. Among those rescued included two persons in critical condition. Violence Against Soldier at Meerut Toll Plaza On 17 August 2025, at around 2000 hrs, at Bhuni toll plaza, Meerut, a soldier posted in Srinagar while returning to duty, was beaten by workers of the Toll Plaza. #IndianArmy strongly condemns such incident against a serving soldier. Displaying selfless commitment and extraordinary flying skills, the Army Aviation units are tirelessly working round the clock in inclement weather to save lives. Under the close supervision and proactive guidance of Commander, #VictoryForCertain Bde, a swift and synergised firefighting response was launched, involving troops of the #VictoryForCertain Bde, Air Force Station Kasauli, Cantonment Board Kasauli and Civil Fire Tenders. For over 16 hours, ground columns battled the flames along Gilbert Trail, Shourya Marg and adjoining areas, preventing further spread and safeguarding critical heritage zones. The air effort by #IndianAirForce Mi-17 helicopters, through effective Bambi Bucket sorties, proved decisive in containing the blaze. All personnel and equipment are safe. No loss of civilian or combatant life has been reported.
