#OperationSagarBandhu #CycloneDitwah #HADR After successfully launching critical dual carriage way Bailey bridge at Kilinochchi, Jaffna, the Indian Army Engineers have commenced improving site for the construction of a 100 ft Bailey Bridge at KM-21, Kandy, to restore connectivity on B-492 Highway. Major General Rohan Medagoda, GOC 11 Division & Brigadier CD Wikramanayaka, Field Chief Engineer of Sri Lankan Army visited the bridge site, commending the efforts of troops for their assistance to Sri Lanka & the jointmanship displayed by Indian Army Engineers and Sri Lankan Road Development Authority in undertaking this challenging task of bridging. Simultaneously, the Engineer Task Force is also assisting the Sri Lankan Road Development Authorities for undertaking preparatory works for launch of Hybrid Bailey bridge at Chilaw, 60 km North of Colombo. Update: Flood Relief Operations The #IndianArmy in response to the massive floods in parts of Punjab, has deployed Army Aviation Helicopters for flood relief and rescue operations as part of its #HADR efforts . Displaying selfless commitment and extraordinary flying skills, the Army Aviation units are tirelessly working round the clock in inclement weather to save lives. In one such incident on 27 August 25 at around 4 PM, on receiving word of rising floodwaters threatening lives in general area of Lassian, Gurdaspur, #Punjab, a dare devil rescue effort was undertaken which consisted of multiple shuttles by three Cheetah helicopters of the Army Aviation Units. Their heroic and timely action in the most extreme flying conditions led to the successful evacuation of 27 persons. The #IndianArmy remains committed to providing all necessary assistance and support to ensure the safety of all citizens during this time of crisis. #MudslideReliefOperations #HADR Update: 📍 Landslide at Dharali, Uttarakhand 05 August 2025 A landslide struck near Dharali village, approximately 4 km from the Indian Army Camp at Harshil, at around 1:45 PM today. Responding with urgency, the #IndianArmy swiftly mobilised 150 personnel, who reached the site within 10 minutes and immediately launched rescue operations. So far, more than 20 civilians have been safely evacuated. The injured are receiving timely and effective medical attention at the Indian Army's medical facility in Harshil. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, with all available resources deployed to locate and assist any remaining stranded individuals. Inputs from the CO have been received reassuring the citizens of Army’s continued efforts to rescue all survivors. Additional Army columns along with Army tracker dogs, drones, logistic drones, earthmoving equipment, etc have been moved ahead to supplement the resources at Harsil to hasten the efforts. Army and Airforce helicopters for essential supplies, medicines and evacuation of the marooned are also being coordinated.
