UV unwrapping isn't hard. Blender's default UV tools just make it feel hard. That's the honest reason so many people avoid it, put it off, or let auto-unwrap ruin a good model. UniV is an open-source add-on that adds the small quality-of-life UV tools that should probably have shipped by default. It's free. Is UV work genuinely your least favourite part of modeling, or is that just a meme at this point? #b3d #Blender3d

Impact frames — are why anime fight scenes land so hard. There's a Blueprint asset for Unreal Engine 5 that adds them to your game's attacks. Combat feel is 90% timing and 10% particles, and most projects get that ratio backwards. What's the best-feeling attack in any game you've played, and why? #UE5 #gamedev

You don’t need complex 3D modeling or hours of sculpting to build detailed environment assets in Blender. In fact, Ian Hubert's Ian Hubert iconic "Lazy Tutorial" technique shows how simple photo projection onto basic geometry lets you block out, extrude, and build realistic custom buildings in under a minute. By mapping real-world photos onto simple cubes and using basic knife cuts and extrusions, you let the photo texture do 90% of the visual heavy lifting. Do you prefer building environments procedurally with geometry nodes, or sticking to fast, photographic projection techniques like this? #b3d #Blender3D #GameDev

Everyone's posting that Cascadeur just "killed token-based billing" for AI animation. It never had token billing. It's been local desktop software since 2019. What they missed is the actual news — 2026.2 shipped this month: → Animation layers (finally — non-destructive adjustment) → Easing controls for interpolation → Updated AI inbetweening + motion generation → BVH import And the catch nobody mentions: the free tier only exports .casc. No FBX. No DAE. So you can't get your animation into Blender, Maya, Unity or Unreal without paying. Unlimited ≠ free. Still worth it? I think yes — Indie is $19/mo and yearly plans are rent-to-own, so after 12 months you keep a perpetual licence even if you cancel. That's rare. Am I being too harsh on the free tier?

There's one brush in Blender that makes cloth simulate itself while you sculpt it. Most people scrolled right past it when 2.83 went stable in 2020. Six years later it's still the fastest way to get believable folds without touching a sim, a modifier, or a single weight paint. It's the Cloth Brush. Which Blender feature do you think is still the most underused? #b3d

This Studio Ghibli AI trend is an utter insult to the studio and anime/cinema in general. the real issue is that the AI is clearly trained on copyrighted material without permission in order to recreate like that. this is what the discussion should be about. It's especially disgusting considering Miyazaki is an artist whose profoundly against AI. Kind of reveals that people care far more about aesthetics than the artist...

POV: you nail the front view, then rotate the camera 😭 bird chen recreated the viral Frieren angle meme in 3D using Blender — and the breakdown actually shows WHY this happens with camera angles and face topology. Funny AND educational. This is why I love the Blender community 😭🔥 #Blender3D #B3D #Frieren #AnimeArt #3DAnimation #BlenderMeme #CharacterArt

You don't need a multi-camera studio setup, expensive suits, or cloud subscription software to do performance motion capture anymore. A single video file inside Blender is all it takes. Arcomade just released BlendCap—a 100% local, offline Blender add-on that extracts full-body, hand, and facial tracking directly from video footage. It maps performance straight onto Rigify, Auto-Rig Pro, Mixamo, or CloudRig setups and includes instant FK-to-IK conversion for fast keyframe cleanup. For solo animators and indie game devs: would you use video mocap for primary animation, or just for blocking out initial poses? #b3d #mocap #indiegamedev

This is such a clever little Blender trick 🐟🔥 Love seeing how simple ideas can create such lively motion. Big props to Ian Hubert for making 3D feel way less intimidating. If you’re into stylized animation or fun workflow hacks, this is worth checking out. What other “lazy tutorials” should more artists know about? 👀 #Blender #b3d #3DArt #Animation #CGI #Fish #GameDev
