Physio 25 years! Likes getting people stronger and sometimes using stronger language! Dislikes hypocrites and silly BS. Views my own! #CantGoWrongGettingStrong

I’ve seen some dumb things done in the name of therapy, but this is the dumbest 🤦‍♂️ If your therapist pushes their foot into your face or throat… call the police! 😖

Two years ago this week I suffered a bad disc herniation that I caught on camera as I was deadlifting! This caused me months of severe left leg nerve pain and a significant loss of muscle power, which properly sucked big time! However, I decided to use this as an opportunity to demonstrate how I as a physio would manage these kinds of injuries using myself as the case subject I wanted to show how many can fully recover from these horrible debilitating injuries without any specific, specialist, fancy or expensive treatments or methods And how you definitely don’t need any massage, manipulations, dry needling, cupping, or any other silly gadgets or exercises either! Instead my recovery simply revolved around having faith and trust in my bodies ability to heal itself, trying to remain positive and calm through the set backs and flare ups, keeping as active as possible, and slowly and gradually returning back to all my activities… including deadlifting! This caused a lot of discussion, disagreement, angst and anger on social media within the physio community! With many accusing me of incompetence and ignorance due to their own insecurities and vested interests in their so called specialist methods and treatments! Many physios simply could not accept that a simple, straight forward, honest and evidence based approach would work… let alone be better than theirs! Many physios did not like me highlighting to the world that physiotherapy for these kinds of issues isnt some magical cure, fix or treatment, but rather a profession that simply helps assist and support people as they recover with time and graded return back to activity!
