A crown jewel of cargo. We’re celebrating 20 years of heavy lifting as the converted #QueenoftheSkies reigns supreme starting with the Dreamlifter’s first flight. In the autumn of 2006, the first 747-400LCF #Dreamlifter took flight, built to haul oversized 787 Dreamliner parts to final assembly. During the pandemic, the fleet stepped up, delivering medical supplies when seconds mattered most. All four Dreamlifters still fly strong today, providing critical support for the 787 supply chain. A 777 Freighter. Two Very Important Pandas. One bear-y special delivery. We were excited to see our partners at FedEx transport two giant pandas from China to Zoo Atlanta. Leased to the zoo, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang traveled aboard a 777F dubbed the “Panda Express.” From takeoff to touchdown, they had all the bear necessities as they made their way around the globe, arriving safely at their new home. The pandas will be on display at ZooATL starting in early November.

First flight! ✈️ The first 777-9 airplane for Lufthansa flew ahead of certification testing. The airline is one of the 777X launch customers. Boeing pilots Capt. Ted Grady and Capt. Our flight test team found everything is bigger in Texas, including the wind. #TeamBoeing navigated strong crosswinds in Midland, Texas, to validate the 737-10’s autoland system, designed to land the airplane safely in low visibility and challenging wind conditions. Flight test, engineering, meteorology and ground support teams spent months planning to execute these flights to gather needed data to establish operational limits for the airlines.
