David Sinclair (David Sinclair) on the Joe Rogan podcast said that GLP-1s (such as Ozempic) have double sudden blindness rates It's difficult not to get irritated with this poor science communication. That alarm comes from 37 patients at one eye clinic. NAION is still about 1 in 10,000 a year. Full explanation here, and in the attached video: Crémieux referenced in the video and article

As a frontline healthcare worker, I chose to get both the influenza and Omicron booster vaccines for two crucial reasons: 1) To minimize the likelihood of needing sick leave, ensuring I'm available to care for my patients when they need me most. 2) To decrease my risk of contracting and therefore passing on either virus to my young family and to the vulnerable individuals in my care, such as infants and the elderly. (and remember, just because I do a particular health strategy does not in any way mean that you should as well. Always discuss with your own doctor)

What is the ‘best’ diet to prevent disease and live a long, healthy life? (hint: it’s not keto, or vegan, or carnivore, or Mediterranean) Video shout-out to Kevin Hall, PhD Kevin Hall The ‘best’ diet is the one that you can stick to over the long term One that makes you feel energized, and decreases your cancer risk and heart disease risk factors Here are the fundamentals of a great diet: - Reduce (and ideally no) refined carbs and sugar - Emphasis on whole foods, particularly non-starchy vegetables and fruits - Replace fizzy drinks and juices (including fruit juice), with water - High, lean protein intake (1.6 grams per kg of body weight) - Replace saturated fats with unsaturated fats - Low salt intake (watch out for sauces and pre-packaged foods) - Early dinner, then immediately brush teeth
