Jet Patcher technology is suited for repairing smaller potholes without disrupting traffic, Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said. The technology was demonstrated on the Vidhana Soudha-MS Building road as part of a Rs 2-crore pilot by Central City Corporation. The machine uses cold-mix technology to repair potholes up to 50 mm deep by cleaning the damaged area, applying bitumen and wet mix, and compacting it. Traffic can resume within about 10 minutes, reducing the need for night-time repairs. If successful, the technology will be deployed across all five city corporations. The minister said different technologies would be used based on pothole depth & road damage.

Karnataka Transport Minister Byrathi Suresh travelled incognito on 10+ BMTC buses.across Bengaluru for 2 hours wearing a mask to inspect services firsthand. He suspended a driver and conductor after a bus failed to stop for passengers. In another bus, a conductor asked him to get down for not having change. Karnataka has launched One Karnataka Mobility App, bringing KSRTC, NWKRTC, KKRTC and BMTC services onto a single digital platform. The upgraded KSRTC AWATAR 2.0 app & WhatsApp ticketing facility were launched by CM DK Shivakumar on September 10. Passengers can book tickets via WhatsApp at +91 6364940880 for KSRTC, NWKRTC and KKRTC buses. Tickets can also be cancelled through WhatsApp. The app will enable grievance tracking & digital bus passes.

Karnataka: 18 passengers had a narrow escape after a KSRTC inter-city EV Power Plus electric bus caught fire near Mysuru on Saturday. The bus was travelling from Virajpet to Bengaluru when driver noticed flames from a tyre after the brakes jammed & stopped. All passengers were evacuated safely. The bus was destroyed in the blaze. Bengaluru: Five people have been taken into police custody after a group allegedly attacked GBA officials during Safe Footpath campaign in Shivaji Nagar. He suggested that people using tunnel systems should be able to access multiple points across the city, not just end-to-end routes. For example, commuters heading to areas like Rajajinagar or locations beyond Basavanagudi should have flexible connectivity options. He added that improving such multi-destination access would help attract more users and ensure optimal capacity utilisation of the tunnel system.
