5.6 Sol on Codex one-shotted a second-screen experience for Project Diablo 2. It did a fork of GameNative and added a new native Kotlin extension. Compiled it, installed it, ran and tested it. Never ceases to amaze me.

Extremely important, and I believe in it strongly. I still do the things I love. Building and improving apps while taking great care of the experience. Codex just makes it much faster.

If you update to the latest ChatGPT iOS app version, we have a very cool new feature from Philipp Spiess. Codex visualisation now also works on iOS; you can ask for all kinds of graphs and custom content to be built on the fly!

Here is a walkable demo of the scene in Blender. Without lighting, but this is still amazing what 5.6 Sol did in two passes. It took less than 45 minutes on Ultra.

Do you use our Build iOS Apps plugin for Codex? I use it often to build new apps and help me on various iOS projects. It also comes with a skill to open server-sim right into the app in the app browser! Probably the feature I use the most!

With 5.6 out, I hope you'll all enjoy it as much as I do! I can finally start talking about all the things I've been building with it. It's so much better at building games and making 3D models; Here is a small demo of one of the games I built with this!

Another boat demo from Astra today. Asked for a sailboat in Blender, then to make it a browser experience, then to implement good water simulation and weather system. Still impressed!

I don’t know if you noticed, but the last few versions of Codex Remote went from jumpy scrolling to smooth streaming. I really like how it turned out. And also, the best way to test and debug that? Ask Codex for an endless wall of text.

Codex can algo get better at SwiftUI animations with the right skills, like the one available in the Build iOS Apps plugin. For example, ask for a scroll reveal animation!

I was about to work (Codex was about to work) on thread/resume optimisation, but I got sidetracked by adding a zoom transition on the plan card. It sounded much more important.

Evergrow, barely a weekend project. Astra now got it running on the AYN Thor wrapped into an APK with a second screen experience. This is insane.

So now I can self-improve the iOS app from my computer to my iPhone and deploy it. I can ask for changes and test them live. Without touching my computer. Can you believe that?

One of the best things about this Codex app update is how good it is to work with other things than code! The app can now preview all kinds of documents natively, including spreadsheets!

Astra is very good at 3D modeling, and I can't wait for all of you to experience it, for now here is a little walkthrough on how I built the demo house for our launch blog post. From a Blender scene to a Unreal Engine 5 walkable experience. 🧵

Welcome to GPT-6.1 Sol ultrafast! Here is a small demo of me making very quick changes in a native SwiftUI iOS app using ultrafast. It's is up to 8X faster than standard mode and open many workflows with the right agentic setup. 🧵

Playing with real time meshes destruction/fully destructible enemies, and it's quite fun. Everything you see is using physics simulation. Probably need to swap to full voxels for performance tho.

Here is a little timelapse of Astra making a V1 (before the plan above) in Blender. You can't see much of the process itself because what Astra like to do is use the Blender headless/CLI and write the 3D models in Python.

Welcome to Astra! Astra is so good at translating intent into good gameplay and getting the art style right! Here is Void Explorer! You can explore a beautiful universe full of Earth-sized planets and star systems! Everything you see exist, and you can fly directly to it. 🧵

My Codex /goal that has been running for like 40 hours that is now 100K+ lines of code now is a pure Swift Doom source port. It'll be the first, source accurate, software renderer for Doom that is fully in Swift. No OpenGL, Metal, SceneKit, no nothing. Just Swift.

Everyone keeps asking me how I generated the sprites, my assets, etc., for Evergrow. Astra made a custom drawing engine, and everything is drawn procedurally in code! I also built a lot of tools to browse and refine all the art in the game!

So this game is real now, fully built with GPT-5.5. I told Codex to use the imagegen skill to generate a reference UI and sprites, and used the Build macOS Apps plugin to build the app for a native retro fantasy labyrinth game! Adjusted the UI in a few prompts and here we are!

New project, no skills, nothing, new install on my MacBook Air. I wanted to try to start the game I want with Astra on Ultra. This is like an hour of building/prompting and 5% of my weekly. Already feeling great!

I wanted to test Astra on a 2D game with fluids/water effects, and it did extremely well on the art style, fluid dynamics, and the combat feedback itself. It created Hollowflux, an extremely fun and fast-paced hack ’n’ slash with beautiful simulated water and lighting effects.

So I asked for 5.6 for good "combat feedback". Bro this is way too intense omg. I feel back for the little critters too now. But the story is that Sol is really good at translating an intent into actual gameplay!

Used Astra to rework the Chain Lightning skill in Evergrow. It added a cool animation, aligned damage with the animations and collisions, and added a better lighting effect. Looking awesome now!

Let's break it down. This time, I started with an empty Xcode project. Claude 4 one-shotted a fully working iOS app that can list and create posts (with a good UX) and read/write to a database. It compiled the app and took a screenshot to confirm that it's working. One prompt.

Here is one of my favourite games created with Astra: Sunwake. Many impressive things here, from the 3D model of the boat to the beautiful lighting and the water simulation and physics. There are also two rendering modes, stylised and realistic!

Telemetry is a very important concept when working with agents; it allows them to work autonomously for longer. Watch Codex build an iOS onboarding and checkout flow, drive it using XcodeBuildMCP and debug analytics events using telemetry the agent added itself.

I think you need to understand how cool and good the Codex sub-agent feature is. For example, here is the perfect task for parallel agents: cleaning and refactoring components based on a skill. So I ask Codex to split the work to speed things up.

Please watch. This is a fully custom wasm + wgpu custom engine I'm having a ton of fun building with Astra. It can create amazing scene, the drawing distance is endless, like the world. Can't wait to have an actual game in it.

I've decided to let 5.6 run a few more turns with my game while steering into the art style and gameplay I wanted, and I'm very impressed. It got my shader right, the parallax background, the skybox. Everything is just fitting so well together!
