Please watch. This is a fully custom wasm + wgpu custom engine I'm having a ton of fun building with Astra. It can create amazing scene, the drawing distance is endless, like the world. Can't wait to have an actual game in it.

You might think this is not technically impressive but it is. It's literally built from scratch. With a defined art style, a low internal rendering rez that output at an high rez with crisp lighting, materials and UI. And in the browser.

Open sourced this yet?

seems like a great base for a survival/crafting game

this looks promising

Awesome work Thomas love to see it. Can you comment on why are you using your specific stack instead of Babylon JS or threejs? it is my understanding that AI is best at web development so I’ve been focusing on using Babylon JS. My results are good but always curious to learn

@DazKins your kinda stuff

I have a hard time believing this was all done with one Pro subscription, when the rest of us can barely make get meaningful code fixes with the limits as they are on Astra. I use Astra only as a manager and I still struggle with limits running out. Unlimited tokens must be nice.

This is just one Astra thread on Ultra. Not using fast. Used 40% today tho.

I’ve used Astra Light to manage Terra medium sub agents and yet I’ve still used up almost 80% just today. So I dunno about Astra Ultra, but it would have killed my usage in an hour. And I’m not building a sophisticated game.

That sunset makes me want to walk toward the horizon. A few distant landmarks to aim for and you’ve already got a pretty compelling exploration demo.

Bruh

PLEASE WATCH

Wow really cool, cant want to see more!

crazy!

Yeah, looks really cool!

Engine->game . This is the way 👍 for demos, so others can build on top of that engine too.

What’s the gameplay loop idea? Also please more evergrow tidbits, building a similar style game (different theme / genre) and I love looking at what you’re achieving as an inspiration for my game.

Imagine Daggerfall/TES + life skills type of game. + super lively world full of stuff

Thomas, how do you switch between your corporate and personal ChatGPT accounts? Please don’t just say you run a dev build for work 😭😭

No I run 2 phones lol. Sorry.

lol

excelente. no se porque me hizo acordar al "carnivoros" un juego de pc donde tenias que cazar dinosaurios jeje

wow - this is amazing, how long did it take to crank this?

Do you think that the browser environment is going to limit what you can accomplish when you move beyond tech demos? I haven’t looked into the state of browser game dev in ages when it was extremely limited in comparison to the consoles my games ran on.

Wasm plus wgpu is such an exciting stack for this. Curious where your streaming boundary lands once gameplay systems arrive, because that draw distance already looks wild.

Very impressive

Looks really cool! I want to try doing a "single player" MMO like Lineage 2 at some point.

is astra looking at screenshots as it builds this, or are you giving it the visual feedback?

Giving visual feedbacks, mostly no ref on this one not even concept arts

When you vibe code any game from scratch it’s a custom engine

Im really curious to know your coding workflow, most used skills and do you use voice mode or still prefer typing?

This looks great but one issue that’s so annoying is very low dense foliage with Astra.

is it based on three.js or even the rendering engine is new? btw infinite draw distance is really cool!! love the demo
