Mamdani’s mayoral victory speech was one of the clearest expressions of the Left’s view of America as little more than an economic zone. There is no love for the United States, no loyalty to its people, and no desire to assimilate. Watch this full episode of my podcast here:

The Golden Age is a choice. America's future depends on our ability to choose well. Today at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, I saw America's future in a room full of young patriots—and challenged them to join us. Heritage Foundation is fighting for policies to support the family, focus on the dignity of work and free enterprise, defend our national security, and answer the crucial question: What does it mean to be an American citizen? This work must be powered by a generation willing to take Charlie Kirk’s advice and choose to seek the eternal. America's Golden Age is a choice. Let's choose well.

🎯 JD Vance nails it in this response about the rise of socialism. “Our response can’t be to ignore the economic concerns that are feeding this rising interest in socialism.” “If we don’t get this right, don’t blame young people for being sympathetic to socialism, we’ve got to blame ourselves.” “You don’t stop socialism by throwing slogans at people about the free market.” As I explained last week, if conservatives in power don’t deliver the bold reforms we know will lower the cost of living, we cannot be surprised if young Americans—priced out of the American Dream by decades of quasi-socialist policies they don’t even recognize as such—take their chances on the Left’s false promises of socialism.

Yesterday at National Conservatism Jerusalem, I remarked that Israel and America’s shared fight against the Islamification of the West is not abstract. Today, on the third anniversary of October 7, I joined Israeli friends at the site of the Nova Music Festival to remember the nearly 1,200 victims of that Islamic terrorist attack.

I shared my thoughts on “burrito-gate” about a week before the controversy erupted. If the Right cannot offer a suitable alternative to the empty but effective messaging of the socialist Left, we are going to get our clocks cleaned in upcoming elections. A recent Harvard Youth poll found support for capitalism at 39% and for socialism at 21%. Young voters are rejecting the labels and backing whoever they think will take bold action on the real affordability crisis they face—not gaslight them that their financial struggles don’t exist. Obviously, electing socialists makes affordability infinitely worse, but with a public education system that teaches socialism and communism can work, it should come as no surprise that young Americans are not appalled by these ideas. Not to mention the fact that even when the Right has held majorities in Congress, the spending cuts we know are necessary to lower the cost of living do not happen. We’ve lived under quasi-socialism in federal spending for decades—backed by both parties—while calling it capitalism. Now that this system is failing, as socialism always does, and Republican majorities have not delivered meaningful reform, socialists are exploiting the opportunity to present their “alternative.” Bold, audacious agendas to tackle inflation and housing affordability will win the day, regardless of what label the politician wears. The challenge for the Right is that we hold power NOW. Heritage has repeatedly offered a menu of bold policies to Congress throughout the last year and a half, but thanks to a handful of liberals with an R next to their name who wield outsized power in such thin majorities, few have come to fruition. We’re running out of time to make a strong enough case for why Americans should continue to trust conservative majorities in Congress.

Much of the political Right is not prepared for the growing threat of the socialist Left.
