The Nigeria Police Force is aware of the allegation regarding this supposed police officer purportedly involved in ballot snatching at the Amakohia Ikeduru Collation Centre in Imo State. We do not take this issue lightly as it bothers on the integrity of the force and the capability of its members to maintain election integrity. We therefore assure the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted, and we will update you asap. It requires a thorough investigation. Thanks

In reply, please quote; Ref No. CZ.5300/FPRD/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.6/225 Date: September 3rd, 2024 The Director of News ……………………………. PRESS RELEASE NIGERIA POLICE UNCOVERS CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, SEDITIOUS ACTIVITIES. As NPF-NCCC Apprehends Anonymous Hacker In an effort to protect national security, maintain public order, identify and apprehend those engaged in criminal activities threatening the stability of our nation, the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC) have apprehended an Anonymous hacker in connection with alleged criminal conspiracy, offences against the Official Secrets Act, leakage of classified 'restricted' documents, acts likely to cause breach of public peace, sedition, fraud, and tax evasion. The complaint, filed by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (OSGF), alleged that an anonymous blogger using the Twitter handle 99% OPPRESSED. published and distributed a restricted document on a sensitive matter of national security. A discrete investigation was initiated to identify those responsible for the leakage, which led to the identification of Bristol Isaac Tamunobifiri, Michael Temidayo Alade, and David Hundeyin, as suspects in connection with the alleged crimes. The principal suspect, Bristol Isaac Tamunobifiri was apprehended at a hotel in Port Harcourt on Saturday, 5th August 2024, by NPF-NCCC detectives, and in an attempt to resist arrest, the suspect locked himself in a hotel room, smashed his phone, and flushed it down the toilet in an effort to destroy evidence. He also refused to surrender his phone's password, claiming he had forgotten it, thereby concealing information. Subsequent investigations, after his arrest, revealed several suspicious activities between the principal suspect and his accomplices. Investigations also revealed that the suspect was responsible for leaking a sensitive restricted document generated from the office of the President to the Secretary of the Government of the Federation. The suspect had also illegally accessed police-restricted data and posted directives from the office of the Inspector-General of Police, and many other restricted documents with the aim of jeopardizing the security network in Nigeria. It has also been established that the suspect also raised funds through anonymous means to sponsor cyberterrorism and other related crimes. Evidence of this was derived after critical forensic analysis of the suspect’s crypto wallet transactions. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD. NPM., has reaffirmed the commitment of the Force to maintaining peace and also reiterated that the Nigeria Police Force remains vigilant to take swift and severe action against any individual or group threatening the country's stability, ensuring they face the full force of the law. The IGP assures members of the public that further investigations will continue to uncover all facets of this conspiracy. The suspect has however been charged to court and remanded in prison custody. This man no be police oo. Ire oo PUBLIC NOTICE WARNING AGAINST ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS. The Office of the Director General Security Matters is not unaware of the current tension in parts of the State following the unfortunate incident involving the death of Mr Oghenemine Ogidi in Effurun. We acknowledge the pain and concerns of citizens, and investigations into the matter are in full swing to ensure justice is served. 2.However, it has become necessary to address a disturbing trend arising from this incident. During a recent routine patrol by officers of Operation Delta Sweep, an individual accosted by them became unruly, questioned the lawful stop, and physically assaulted an officer by grabbing and dragging the officer's uniform. Contrary to what was being circulated, the officer involved is a member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on official duty, not a Police Officer. 3.The State Government and all security agencies strongly condemn this act. While we understand public anger over the Oghenemine Ogidi’s incident, it must be emphasised that no citizen is permitted to take the law into their own hands, insult, or assault officers discharging their lawful duties. 4. In view of the above, we therefore warn the general public as follows: i. Desist from any form of assault, obstruction, or disrespect toward law enforcement officers. Such actions are criminal and will be met with the full weight of the law. not resort to self-help or mob action. Two wrongs do not make a right. all complaints of misconduct, brutality, or unlawful behaviour by any law enforcement agent to the appropriate authorities: the Police Complaints Response Unit, or the Office of the Director General, Security Matters. 5.We appeal for calm and urge citizens to allow the law to take its course in the Mene case. The security of lives and property requires the cooperation of all. Attacking officers makes policing difficult and endangers the entire community. The State Government remains committed to justice, accountability, and the protection of all residents. Hon. David Tonwe Director General, Security Matters/Coordinator Operation Sweep Delta Police NG, Complaint Response Unit (CRU) Delta State Police Command POLICE COMPLAINT Nigeria Police Force Aliyu Giwa
