TIL that GTA III has an unused but fully functional feature that gives the player $1 for every second a passenger sits in their taxi (like in GTA2). The Taxi mission even has this script command present, but commented out. Vice City kept the code, but cut the script command.

Vigilante in GTA III has a unique bonus that doesn't quite work: if you catch 10 criminals in a row, the game grants a "get out of jail free card". With it, you keep your money after you are busted (once), but at some point you kept your weapons too. The final game takes them.

Around 2 years ago, I *tried* to play through Acclaim Juiced, but I couldn't tame its handling model. Turns out back then I had a half-finished Xbox gamepad layout mod for the PS2 prototype, so now I came back and finished it! With proper throttle control, it'll be nicer.

In San Andreas, Maccer appears outside of the cutscenes in Don Peyote, and neither him or Kent Paul have voices beyond the scripted dialogue lines. However, Maccer actually has a set of lines that went unused, since they were not assigned to his model name!

It's cool that Old School Rally pays homage to the Colin McRae Rally's UFO abduction easter egg, but it's unfortunate that it's "cheapened": in CMR you respawned with a "jelly" car, in OSR the stage simply resets. Not even turning the car green, like another CMR cheat did.

Steve here plays on the PS5, I tried another hypercar on the PC *for the first time* right now and... I am not struggling at all. I wonder if the review PC build is slightly newer then, or maybe gamepad steering on PC is better tuned?? A little puzzling.

Gang generation in GTA III was quite broken, especially on PC - some VC code made it in and broke things. On PS2, a code to spawn formations of gangs existed, but was disabled due to glitches. SilentPatch restores and fixes the PS2 code. I recreated this beta clip to demonstrate.

The 'Coach Driver' mission from GTA LCS May 2005 prototype is fully usable and coded like a GTA III mission - because of this, it ports to that game 1-to-1. In GTA III, we can play through it exactly how it was in that prototype. It's pretty glitchy, but playable.

This is likely the last audio-related addition for the next release of SilentPatch: Passenger dialogue lines for running over people were fixed in SP as early as 2018, but those lines never worked for civilians. They have them in a separate "taxi" context, which SP now uses too.
