A new experiment with Seedance 2.0 on mitte.ai : FACS. For this videos, I only used FACS codes in the prompt. I didn’t describe the facial expressions in plain language at all. FACS (Facial Action Coding System) is a system for describing facial expressions using individual muscle movements called Action Units (AUs), instead of general emotion labels like “happy” or “sad.” It breaks the face into controllable components such as brow movement, eyelid tension, lip movement and cheek activation. Even though it didn’t follow all 14 Action Units perfectly, it still interpreted most of them surprisingly well. I think this could become especially useful for subtle facial acting, forced smiles, uncanny expressions, mixed emotions and micro-performance details during close-up dialogue shots. You can check the prompt for first 15s, a list of FACS codes generated with GPT Image 2 in the replies.

GPT Image 2 - Character Reference Sheet Prompt You can create a character reference sheet in any style you want for use in your Seedance 2.0 videos. All you need to do is either provide a reference image or describe your character. You can also input random values to generate completely random characters. This reference sheet provides a clear, structured, and highly readable visual breakdown of the character, helping the model maintain strong identity consistency across different outputs. The layout ensures the model focuses on essential visual information rather than stylistic noise, while the inclusion of expressions, head angles, and performance cues improves the model’s ability to generate believable acting and varied poses without losing character integrity. All clips in the demonstration video were generated using the reference sheet image and the same Seedance 2.0 prompt. You can find the prompts in the replies. 👇 GPT Image 2 and Seedance 2.0 are both available on mitte.ai

Seedance 2.5 First Test Something feels a little off but I'm not entirely sure what it is. Seedance 2.0 wasn't like this. It seems to morph a bit during fast action scenes. It’s a really expensive model to test, so we'll see how many attempts we can make. Being able to generate a full 30-second video in one go is nice. In this video, one of the guns disappears and then comes back.

Seedance 2.5 Test 480p - 720p I created a fight scene in a Chinese donghua style. For my prompt tests, I usually generate 5-second clips at 480p just to see how the style and overall look turn out. Interestingly, action scenes look cleaner at 480p. At 720p, they become noticeably blurrier or noisier, even though both were generated with the exact same prompt. The timing also seems much more consistent across generations now. Seedance 2.0 wasn't following timestamps reliably, so I rarely used them back then. With 2.5, I have started using timestamps again. I upscaled the 480p with Topaz. What do you think? Also you can check the prompt below.

Seedance 2.5 Prompt Share - 720p, 30s Optimized the scene from the quoted post for Seedance 2.5, extended it to 30 seconds and adapted it into a live-action style. This time, I went with a Chinese prompt. You can find the prompt in the replies. Which do you prefer, the anime version or the live-action one? Created with Seedance 2.5 on Astorie AI

Kōdaverse Tried 30 character references with Seedance 2.5 with a family dinner scene. Picked 30 characters out of the 150 I shared before and tried generating a family dinner scene with a simple prompt. This one was a 25s generation. Prompt: [all char refs], a big family dinner, cinematic footage, multiple cuts, dynamic camera angels. show all characters, 20 cuts. You can find character sheets in the quoted post.

Seedance 2.5: Some Tips / Thoughts & Prompt Share I knew from the start that the story in this video was a little too ambitious for 30 seconds. Normally, it could easily have been a 2+ minute sequence but I wanted to squeeze it into 30 seconds because there were a few specific things I wanted to test. I used six different character references for this video and wrote the final prompt in Chinese. The council members were actually supposed to speak in an alien language but I think because I asked for English subtitles and wrote the dialogue itself in English, Seedance decided to make them speak English too. Seedance 2.5 follows prompts extremely well. Actually, "extremely strictly" might be a better way to describe it. You need to be very careful with timing. If you ask for too many actions within a very short time window, you may get what feels like a sped-up version of the scene. On the other hand, if you assign too much time to an action that should happen quickly, the result can feel unnaturally slow or almost like slow motion. At least, these are both things I've run into during my tests. The same applies when you use a shot list without timestamps. Depending on how much you ask the model to fit into each shot, the pacing can still end up too fast or too slow. Finding the right balance between the amount of action and the time available is very important. Another thing I noticed is that Seedance 2.5 can be very literal about motion and state transitions. For example, if a character is facing the camera and you want to see their back in the next moment, simply describing the next shot from behind may not be enough. If you don't explicitly say that the character turns around, the model can sometimes morph or transition directly into the rear view without performing the actual turn. Seedance 2.0 would usually handle these things on its own. So it helps to think not only about what you want to see but also how the scene gets there. Once you identify these kinds of issues and explicitly correct them in the prompt, you can usually get a much cleaner result. For scenes with multiple characters, dialogue and a lot of specific details, the 5,000-character prompt limit can also become restrictive in English. Sometimes there simply isn't enough room to describe everything properly. That's where Chinese prompts become useful. My original English prompt clearly needed much more detail, so I rewrote it in Chinese and used the extra space to describe the scene more precisely. You can see the result in the video. Prompt in the replies.

Tried fitting 50 cuts into 30 seconds with Seedance 2.5. I let codex count the cuts. Including flashes, explosion/splash effects and the final fade-out as transitions, the video has 42 cuts/transitions in total. Technically, it contains 36 actual editorial cuts. You can check the prompt below. Created with Seedance 2.5 on Astorie AI

Seedance 2.0 Emotional Coordinates Meet Valence-Arousal. I’ve been experimenting with valence-arousal prompting in Seedance 2.0 on mitte.ai, and surprisingly, a lot of it actually works. Most likely this should transfer to many other video/image models too. Before we start, I should mention that a lot of attempts can hit safety/violence filters depending on how extreme the emotional state becomes. My test prompts were also intentionally very simple and open-ended, which probably increased that. Valence measures how positive or negative an emotional state is. Arousal measures how calm or activated it is. So instead of writing: “sad, anxious, emotionally overwhelmed” you can try things like: valence: low arousal: high I tested mostly numeric values at first, but honestly I’ve been getting much better and more stable results with transition-based prompting like this: “The emotional state gradually shifts from high valence and low arousal to low valence and high arousal.” That feels much more model-friendly right now. I think this could become really useful for subtle acting, emotional transitions, cinematic dialogue scenes, uncanny performances and mood-driven storytelling. Leaving example Seedance 2.0 prompts, the Valence-Arousal infographic and a GPT Image 2 prompt below.

Seedance 2.5 on Astorie AI Let's try typography with Seedance 2.5. 30s, 720p generation. I did a few tests and it can sometimes get the text wrong. I think using reference images would be a more reliable way to get all the text right. Otherwise, you'll need a lucky generation. Since this one is a bit more detailed, I used a Chinese prompt again. I'll leave the prompt below.

How to Create Music That Matches Your Video's Sound with Suno Studio I made a quick video showing how I use Suno Studio to generate background music that fits the audio and mood of a video, similar to the example in the quoted post. This is the method I use at the moment but if you have a better approach, feel free to share it. Before starting, export the original audio from your video. I usually do this in CapCut. After generating a track you like in Suno Studio, you can import it back into CapCut and add it to your video. *This is not a paid partnership.
