It’s amazing what a well-executed vision for a community golf course can become. The Park strived to be a gathering place for golfers and families. Here it is at 6:15 on a Wednesday night. This is an example of what public golf can be for a community.

This is why needs either more width or less penalizing rough. Rose hits a high cut that lands on the right half of the fairway and bounds to left rough. It’s a crapshoot on hitting fairways, reducing skill. Furthermore, the ball goes into rough without real recovery options.

Powerful message about the golf ball rollback from USGA President Fred Perpall today. The further the ball goes, the more time it takes and the more it costs to build and maintain golf courses.

Just like Portrush, the way the ball hits the green and of course the walk down through the neighborhood to the next tee.

Given the direction of the rollback and the fact that courses such as Pebble and Riv have become wedgefests. I think it's time to start "retiring" golf courses from pro golf until there is a significant change in equipment. The skill and margins in pro golf get minimized when longer irons are not hit into par 4s. Pebble Beach we will see you in Valhalla.

I had been wanting to ask Rory this since the Masters and loved the answer. His answer gets to the spirit of the game and getting your mind to a place where you feel free.

Is this the shot of the year? For me it’s this or Brooks on 16 at the PGA. Wyndham on 18 at the end of round 3 at USO could be considered too.

Golf has had a torpedo bat problem for 30 years, the issue is very few influential people have spoken out about it over the years the way so many baseball folks have in one week.

If the PGA Tour wants to make a world tour after raising $5-6 billion. They should purchase the PGA and Ryder Cup and turn the PGA into a worldwide major They would own 2 of the 5 most valuable golf events (up from 0) and could create a cohesive schedule
