Users are reverse engineering and porting software across platforms with Perplexity Computer. This user's mechanical keyboard app was Windows only, with no Linux support and no documentation. Computer downloaded the binary in its cloud sandbox, decompiled it with headless Ghidra, and ported it to a native Rust app for Linux. Computer read the decompiled code to learn how the app drives the keyboard, then rebuilt it piece by piece, complete with keyboard lighting that syncs to music over PipeWire, a 3D view, key remapping, macros and profiles.

We're introducing hybrid compute for all users of the Perplexity Mac app. This will allow Computer to orchestrate local models that can run locally on Mac, particularly for agent steps involving sensitive and private files (eg your bloodwork, tax returns, litigation, etc).

Perplexity Computer (in Standard Mode with Opus 5.5) is capable of designing and building an end-to-end, browser-based open-world game by renting its own GPUs, running headless Blender, doing procedural design, downloading assets online, and designing audio. Done with ~$2000 worth of credits. Play here:

We got Computer playing StarCraft against Computer, in real time. No pausing. The game keeps running while each agent thinks. Blue 2 – Red 5 Final match. Blue builds up safely, reaches 41 Dragoons, and moves out. Red is waiting with High Templar and hits the army with Psionic Storm. Blue hadn’t scouted what Red was building. Computer assembled the whole setup: an OpenBW-based Brood War runtime on a VPS, a C++ bridge, and four gameplay tools per agent. Each agent receives its own fog-of-war-limited game state. Recording and camera control run separately; the agents aren’t given video input.
