Tony Kornheiser & Michael Wilbon are consistently great on PTI, but their best work is when they eulogize a legendary sports figure and put that person's life in perspective... just as they did when they wrote award-winning columns in their newspaper days. Today on Mike Ditka:

What a moment during the Little League World Series Championship game. A well-deserved salute to Karl Ravech who has brought so much passion, knowledge and fun to ESPN/ABC's coverage of the #LLWS. Karl never wants it to be about himself, but he deserves the accolades.

Dave Flemming called his final game for ESPN this week. Jessica Mendoza & Eduardo Perez gave him this wonderful send-off. A consummate pro who never seeks attention, Dave's been a consistent voice at ESPN across college football, basketball, MLB & golf for 16 years. We'll miss him.

Thoughtful tribute about Mike Patrick from Tony Kornheiser & Michael Wilbon to close today's PTI. Like Tony & Mike, Patrick had strong DC ties. He attended college at GW, worked in the booth w/ a number of Washingtonians and lived in Northern Virginia.

ESPN's Rece Davis is widely praised for the show opens he writes and narrates for College GameDay. Here's his set-up for today's #Wimbledon Gentlemen's Final. And kudos to Rece on his first fortnight. Great to have him part of our ESPN Tennis coverage the past 2 weeks.

This is just a beautiful tribute to Cliff Drysdale who is retiring after US Open. Cliff has been part of ESPN since he called the network's first tennis telecast – USA vs Argentina in the Davis Cup on Sept 14, 1979, one week after ESPN debuted. A legend! ❤️🎾

12 years ago this week, the #USMNT also faced Belgium in the FIFA World Cup Rd of 16. This was our Wright Thompson-narrated tease open on ESPN (via Bluefoot Entertainment). Good luck to the U.S. Soccer Men's National Team tonight in Seattle. A monumental opportunity for U.S. Soccer.

Fans of Virginia Cavaliers have been waiting for a Virginia Football moment like this for such a long time. The memories of this one are going to live on for decades - just like the '95 upset of FSU. Wonderful job by our ESPN crew tonight, led by Bob Wischusen Louis Riddick & Kris Budden.
