Every Nigerian deserves to be found. Every business deserves the chance to reach its customers. And every community deserves to be within reach of opportunity. Today, we are launching the National Digital Alphanumeric Postcode System by Nigerian Postal Service , a significant step towards a Nigeria where your location connects you to more possibilities. Think of the small business ready to deliver beyond its neighbourhood, the family waiting for emergency help and the community that government needs to reach with essential services. An accurate postcode can make a meaningful difference in each of these lives. As we work towards H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ambition for a $1 trillion economy, we must build the foundations that allow more Nigerians to participate, trade and prosper. This is one of those foundations, and I am deeply excited about what we can build with it. Please find your postcode here - and start using it. Share this video, encourage your family and friends to find theirs, and help us take this message into every community. I also want to hear from you: Was finding your postcode easy? Have you started sharing and using it? What would you like it to make possible for you, your business or your community? Share your experience in the comments because your feedback will help us make this work better for everyone. Let’s put our communities on the map and bring opportunity closer to every Nigerian.

FROM CORRUPTION TO PROTECTION: A NEW HOME FOR THE NDPC Two days ago, we commissioned the new headquarters of the NDPC Nigeria in Abuja. The building was recovered by the EFCC through its work on corruption cases and approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for use as the Commission’s permanent headquarters. The President’s support for the NDPC has been consistent. He signed the Nigeria Data Protection Act into law in 2023, provided intervention funding to sustain the Commission until it could rely on its own income, directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to comply with the NDPC’s data protection framework, and approved this recovered asset for its use. That support has helped the NDPC become one of Africa’s leading data protection authorities, increasingly respected globally for its work. It also reflects the President’s wider commitment to our digital economy, whose contribution to GDP has grown from about 16–18% when we assumed office to approximately 21% today. A property recovered from corruption is now being used to protect Nigerians and their personal data. This is what it means to return public assets to productive public service.

It was an honour to speak at the Ai updates 2023 in the UK earlier today alongside other ministers of ICT. The summit is a gathering of global stakeholders including governments, leading AI companies, experts in research and civil society groups. As a nation of innovators and entrepreneurs, Nigeria must recognise the significance of Artificial Intelligence and the urgent need to explore and use it for the good of humanity. I would also like to thank the UK Government for inviting us to be part of the UK AI for Development Programme which will support our efforts to improve AI research and inclusive datasets. This partnership is a recognition of our commitment to the growth of AI in Nigeria as outlined in our Strategic Blueprint and evidenced by our initial launch of the National AI Research Scheme. #NigerianExcellence

It is encouraging to see the National Digital Alphanumeric Postcode System moving steadily from planning to implementation, with the commencement of the postcode delineation model validation exercise across the country. As field mappers begin engaging communities and validating the digital postcode model, we are taking another important step towards delivering a smarter, more secure, and digitally enabled addressing system for every Nigerian. I commend the Postmaster General/CEO of Nigerian Postal Service, Tola Odeyemi, and the entire NIPOST team for the dedication and professionalism they continue to demonstrate in driving this important national initiative. Every validated address brings us closer to a future where emergency response is faster, public services are more efficient, businesses can operate with greater confidence, and innovation is powered by trusted location intelligence. I look forward to the successful launch of the Postcode System in October and to the transformational impact it will have as another critical layer of Nigeria's Digital Public Infrastructure.

I am always interested in getting your input on our plans. We have this fantastic space in Abuja, one of many we are optimising to deepen our innovation ecosystem and increase access to collaborative spaces across the country. What would you do with a space like this in Abuja?

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Nollywood Icon, Sola Sobowale to reflect on the 2nd anniversary of my appointment as Minister by H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Aunty Sola came prepared and I was happy to chat through some of the work we’ve done at the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy in the last 2 years. We’ve put that conversation together in a 7-part series touching on our journey so far from Connectivity to Talent, AI to Innovation, as well as policy initiatives, as we shape a more inclusive digital future for our people. This conversation with Aunty Sola was equal parts inspiring and fun, and I can’t wait for you all to watch all 7 episodes! #NigerianExcellence #Nollywood

Yesterday, I returned to my roots — Anglican High School, Quarry Road, Abeokuta — the place that shaped my earliest dreams. It was an emotional journey down memory lane, but more importantly, a chance to give back meaningfully to the next generation. To honour my alma mater, I launched the Bosun Tijani Fellowship — an annual programme that will support 17 students with: - ₦100,000 each towards their tuition - A brand-new laptop - New school uniforms But that’s just the beginning. I also adopted a one-storey classroom block housing four classes — which will be fully renovated, equipped with modern furniture and smart boards, to create an environment worthy of 21st-century learning. In addition, I have adopted the school’s science laboratory, which is currently empty, and will be transforming it into a well-equipped space for practical science learning. This is more than a gesture of gratitude. It is a belief that greatness can emerge from anywhere — and that with the right support, today’s students can build a future even brighter than our past. To every young person out there: your story matters, your dreams are valid, and we are counting on you.

NCC Digital Innovation Park , Kano - From Setback to Strength No setback can stop our mission to take His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s message of Digital Transformation to every corner of Nigeria. The restoration of the ncc.gov.ng Digital Innovation Park in Kano to an even better state, after last year’s vandalism, is a reminder that our commitment to creating opportunity, especially for young people, remains unshaken. My deepest thanks to IHS Towers for standing with us and supporting our vision to empower, uplift, and ensure every Nigerian can benefit from the Digital Economy. #NigerianExcellence
