Clarification: this is the last penalty for France. Penalty called by TMO / awarded 2 phases later. (The tackle was on Josh Brennan too!!!)

New laws around the rugby tackle is going to take some time to bed in. Ball carrier has to present a target area to be tackled. A few of these yesterday. Coaches beware !

this is a great piece of play by McCarthy. Watch the back lift by Genge - releases Itoje causing the gap that McCarthy goes through. #ENGvIRE (power lift disadvantages?)

This very smart by Bordeaux! Was waiting for a team to do it. Getting the edge winger to catch the box kicks but makes them very vulnerable to been counter-rucked with their back to the defence. #RugbyAnalysis

Another example of the New #Rugby Tackle laws in action. The tackle "assist" must also be low. Had a few of these on Friday. Coaches beware !

a 6 v 6 situation before O’Brien’s try. England’s Edge Defence continues to be a problem for them. But the “Overs” line by Doris is exceptional - Dingwall completely falls for it. #ENGVIRE

Selection conversation must have been funny this week for Garry Ringrose - “you play on the wing” - “ya”. “oh & can you jump at 2 on a 5m lineout”...... #LEIvBAT

These late switch lineouts have become very popular in this year’s #SixNationsRugby - But are the switches now happening too late? One for the next referee meeting? - missed offside too!!!

Some good thinking around using your Scrum-half off strike plays. Munster used Ben O’Donovan very well. Getting him attacking in midfield. #MUNvGLA #URCGO

So how do you fit 2 world class 10s into a starting XV - some of the interplay was so good, especially in the 2nd half. #AUSFRA #RugbyAnalysis 🧵1/4

This is very good by Russell & Freeman. They spotted how slow Australia were getting back into their restart shape. No Gold jersey in the 22m . #AUSvBIL #Lions2025

4 yellows and a red card - a if honest were lucky not to get another 3 cards especially on the penalty try. Anyone know what the record for most cards in international rugby game is? #IREvRSA

asked a few times about this one - if you throw over the 15m lineout, the lineout is over/offside line is gone/open play. Players are allowed to flood through. Good awareness by players. #RugbyAnalysis

Really liked how Northampton set up their attack. Very smart to Split the defence/Avoid the "smash zone”/flat passes/create 6v4s - play a smaller game. Great coaching plan & execution #LEIvNOR
