Critical Disengagement on FSD v14.3.7. Context: The car needed to leave the parking garage and go to HEB. It started from the second floor, made its way to the top floor, and I believe it tried to find a path through this metal wire fence. If it had gone through that, it was a 6 story drop to the ground. In the dashcam clip, it is clearly visible. You can see the car is at 4 mph throughout the whole turn and is not slowing down. It wasn't trying to park because the route was set to leave the parking garage, not park in it. Either way, driving at 4 mph inches from the fencing is not okay. I have an interior GoPro recording of the whole situation. It actually tried to drive into the fencing again after I restarted FSD. In thread 👇 Obviously since I disengaged, we don't know what it truly would have done. Maybe it would have made contact and stopped. This was as far as I was going to take it as someone responsible for the vehicle, so I believe this disengagement was fair. I was not expecting something like this as the latest versions of FSD are exceptionally safe. Tesla AI Tesla Ashok Elluswamy Elon Musk

UPDATE: FSD v14.3.8 still attempts to drive off the 6th floor of my parking garage. 😅 Interior camera is in thread, along with original critical disengagement from v14.3.7. It appears to perform the same maneuver. Same conditions, same time of day, same destination in the navigation (HEB). Also, no I didn't make contact, it was close though.

This is TOO much of a coincidence! I just spotted a Cybercab in my college apartment parking garage in College Station,TX exactly where the critical disengagement in the quote below occured... (FSD v14.3.7 attempted to drive off the 6th floor of a parking garage). I first saw it outside my apartment, then I saw it INSIDE the apartment on the 6th floor of the garage. That is exactly where the incident occured, and it was parked a couple parking spots away from where I disengaged. 👀 I can only assume this is Tesla AI investigating this situation closely as it could be dangerous. It is also really impressive that they are on the case within 2 days of it happening, in a college town a couple hours from Houston and Austin. I am super happy to see this Tesla, thank you. Even if it is a coincidence, I like to see testing in College Station, the home of the Aggies! 👍 The Cybercab is shown in the aparment garage and outside the apartment when I first spotted it:

Tesla @Robotaxi just got an update where the turn signals and hazard lights are completely silent! I took a ride 2 days ago and can confirm turn signals were still active. Is this a sign of FSD v15 in Robotaxi? It is the only physical difference I have noticed. Nice touch.

On the 100th day after Tesla Robotaxi rides starting in Houston, I am able to book a ride after 8PM for the first time! Before today, it stopped taking rides at 8PM and all robotaxis returned to homebase. Today they are actually leaving homebase after 8PM! This is crazy because even in Ausin, night rides are supervised. Will keep looking to see how long they stay up!

Something is going down today in Houston with Cybercabs. Just saw these 3 and a Model Y head down from the hub to the service center. Minutes before that I saw 6 more Cybercabs head down there as well (couldn't record). When I got the service center minutes after them, not a single one in sight. The service door was open so I assume they all went inside. I have never seen this before, and this many Cybercabs don't usually head to the service center at once.

First in depth review of FSD v15 on Robotaxi. This video highlights key moments, uncut video in comments. After hearing Ashok Elluswamy mention Robotaxi was running FSD v15, I immediately went on a ride! There are definitely parts of the drive that behave different than the current customer version of FSD. At the very beginning of the drive, the Robotaxi encounters a stationary car which was waiting to supercharge. The wheel is twitching to go around the car. I believe this is to slowly inch to the left to gain more context and visibility to proceed, rather than diving straight in as 14.3.x would have. Ensuring the road is clear prevents the need to reverse in the event of a car coming from the opposite side. Exactly what I would have done. The acceleration and braking behavior of the model are much better than v14. It is MUCH better at predicting the following distance from the car in front. I experienced no brake stabs at all. The turn signal behavior is exactly where I would like it. Not too early, but not too late as to alarm the driver behind of a last minute turn. Unlike 14.3.x, it gets into the lane that it needs to much earlier in order to avoid messing up the flow of traffic later. In the middle of the drive, I noticed we were slowing down in the middle of the road. Not abruptly, but a calm deceleration. Turns out it was waiting for 2 ducks to pass! Great job on that. The ducks didn't get startled because the car saw them earlier on and reacted accordingly. Instantly as the duck gets on the curb, it continues. No hesitation. It also avoids a pothole that Robotaxi and my personal car always used to hit. It drives by people on the sidewalk without jitteriness or sudden movements. v14.3.x sometimes gives too much space between the car and pedestrian causing it to cross in the adjacent lane. At a red light, the lane that the Robotaxi was in had more cars in front of it, so it turned from a speed of 0 to get into the shorter lane. This smart behavior allowed it to make the green light as the cars it passed got stuck when the light turned red. FSD performs U-turns flawlessly without slowing down or extensive checking for clearance. Lane changes don't seem sudden as they do in v14.3.x. The initial turn of the wheel is smooth. The gold path on the Robotaxi's screen smoothly changes lanes, making the car perform a smoother transition. Overall, the whole ride was executed EXACTLY as I would have done it. For this ride, I give it a 10/10. There was no point where I was confused in why Robotaxi made the decision it did. The model is more confident, assertive and humanlike. I did not get to observe yellow light behavior or school zones in this ride, but I am sure the car handles them well. All of the little things this ride exhibited make the car blend in really well in Houston traffic during rush hour. Outstanding job on Robotaxi Self-Driving v15 Tesla AI, Ashok Elluswamy, and Elon Musk 👏 This video highlights the best parts. Complete raw video is in the comments.
