Just a typical day in the 3D studio with my little assistant… seems like she’s still figuring things out… 🔌💥 Since it’s the New Year, I figured it’s time for a proper re-introduction! ✨ • I’m chacha! A Virtual Guitarist 🎸 • I work as a technician in a chemistry lab irl🧪 • I only have 2-3 hours after work for guitar and 3D⌚ • I use VR trackers for mocap💃 • I’ve been playing guitar for years, but I’m entirely self-taught for fun, so my playing isn’t that great 😅 • Before I decided to do guitar mocap, I didn’t even know what Unity was (maybe I’m actually a genius!? 🧠✨) • I live for compliments! 🥺💖 No guitar mocap video this week, but I’m making steady progress behind the scenes: ✅Carefully fine-tuned the avatar’s shaders for better lighting and shadows ✅Got a new outfit and remade all the cloth physics from scratch ✅Wrote a script for smoother movement ✅Completely rearranged the music gear in the studio ✅Finally using the new guitar Midori made for me! 🎸 ✅Re-edited and remixed one of my older tracks, so a "Remastered" version is coming soon! 🎧 ✅Also recorded a brand-new song, so stay tuned!! 🤘

I built a tool that automatically fixes finger & fretboard clipping in guitar mocap!🪄 Manually fixing one full song frame-by-frame to “pull” fingers out of fretboard used to take me ~10 hours. Now it runs automatically in ~90 minutes!🤯 And the results actually look pretty decent? First-person view in the clip 👇

【Magica Cloth 2 Showcase】 I remade all the hair and cloth physics with Magica Cloth 2 for an upcoming collab! Motion: DancerVTuber 海夏青 Outfit: MONVIE_VRC Sharing a few quick tips: ✨Simple single-layer skirts → Mesh Cloth for the smoothest, silkiest movement! ✨Complex pleats or multi-layer skirts → Bone Cloth, but if bones aren’t dense enough and leg clipping happens, switch Connection Mode to Mesh-related options. It creates mesh-like links between bones and fixes most clipping instantly. ✨For simple double-layer skirts, you can also try applying Mesh Cloth to each layer separately and enable Self-Collision ✨Small frills, ribbons, or ties without bones → slap Mesh Cloth on them too. Trust me, when these tiny details move naturally, the whole outfit feels insanely satisfying! ✨If you have a guitar on you like I do, add colliders to the guitar too! That way it presses the skirt down naturally without clipping, just like real life ✨ If you run into stubborn clipping that’s hard to fix, try using Magica Wind Zone to blow the cloth in one direction, it might work like magic!

3D Vtuber guitar solo with finger tracking! 🔥 Okay😅 Longtime followers probably know this… I used to go absolutely insane fixing every single finger animation, making sure ZERO clipping with the fretboard But now I basically don’t fix them anymore. 1. It takes FOREVER 😭 2. After fixing, the fingers always feel kinda “dead” and lose that raw captured energy So yeah, tons of clipping everywhere… but I think the raw dynamic looks not bad and more alive this way. 🤔 Tell me what do you think? 🧐
