Bengaluru Development Minister @KrishnaByreGowda directed Municipal Commissioners to issue notices to govt departments that fail to clear waste from their premises under the 'Freedom from Waste' campaign. Between August 1 and 6, authorities cleared 10,056 metric tonnes of construction and demolition (C&D) waste from 453 locations. So far, 3,022 illegal dumping sites.containing an estimated 59,823 metric tonnes of waste have been identified. The campaign now deploys 54 tipper trucks and 18 JCBs, with more machinery to be added.

Advocate S Nataraja Sharma has filed a complaint with Karnataka's Transport Dept seeking an independent probe into alleged monthly bribe collection from Kerala-registered tourist bus operators by certain RTO officials, The complaint alleges payments of Rs 16,000-30,000 per bus to facilitate movement across Karnataka, with operators reportedly facing harassment & vehicle detention for non-payment. It cites WhatsApp messages, payment screenshots and audio recordings as evidence & seeks examination of UPI transactions, vehicle records and officials’ postings. Sharma has urged ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ,Transport Department Karnataka to refer the matter to Lokayukta/anti-corruption authorities & initiate legal action if the allegations are substantiated. Bengaluru: Five people have been taken into police custody after a group allegedly attacked GBA officials during Safe Footpath campaign in Shivaji Nagar. Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said alleged main instigator, Basavaraj Pudukote, will be arrested soon. Police will invoke Section 307 (attempt to murder) against all those involved. The minister said the attackers were "anti-social elements" & warned that strict action would be taken against anyone assaulting public servants on duty.

Responding to Surya’s opposition to the tunnel road project, Shivakumar said, "Who is he to say no? If senior leaders from his party like R. Ashoka , Dr. C.N. Jet Patcher technology is suited for repairing smaller potholes without disrupting traffic, Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said. The technology was demonstrated on the Vidhana Soudha-MS Building road as part of a Rs 2-crore pilot by Central City Corporation. The machine uses cold-mix technology to repair potholes up to 50 mm deep by cleaning the damaged area, applying bitumen and wet mix, and compacting it. Traffic can resume within about 10 minutes, reducing the need for night-time repairs. If successful, the technology will be deployed across all five city corporations. The minister said different technologies would be used based on pothole depth & road damage.

The bus was travelling from Virajpet to Bengaluru when driver noticed flames from a tyre after the brakes jammed & stopped. All passengers were evacuated safely. The bus was destroyed in the blaze. Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said that viability should follow a detailed study of demand and usage patterns. He suggested that people using tunnel systems should be able to access multiple points across the city, not just end-to-end routes. For example, commuters heading to areas like Rajajinagar or locations beyond Basavanagudi should have flexible connectivity options. He added that improving such multi-destination access would help attract more users and ensure optimal capacity utilisation of the tunnel system.
