I didn’t know of this guy, Jeffree Star, before a few days ago. Why would I? I’m not on TikTok & I don’t use cosmetics. But he’s an incredibly popular makeup influencer with over 8 million followers (6 million here on X, 13.3 MILLION on Instagram!!!) He’s made several videos speaking out about this recently, which has, predictably, caused carnage in TikTok land. But the importance of someone like him stating common sense & the bleeding obvious cannot be underestimated. In fact, it’s huge. You CAN be gender non-conforming & STILL be grounded in reality. 👏🏻

In 1994, I was playing a part in Graham Linehan ‘s sitcom, “Paris”, an OTT satire on the Paris art/philosophical scene, playing Belunaire, a rotter. I was a young actor, 4 years out of RADA, & Graham was so kind to me. I’ve never forgotten the way he made me feel 100% a part of it.
