One of Europe’s largest onshore windfarms is being built in central Ukraine. We are set to build our next flagship project - 650 MW Poltavska windfarm. The total investment is expected to reach €1.2 billion. Our subsidiary dtek.renewables will install up to 100 turbines in the Poltava region, central Ukraine. Poltavska windfarm joins DTEK’s growing portfolio of renewable energy that includes the 500 MW Tyligulska windfarm and Ukraine’s largest battery energy storage project at 200 MW.

Ukraine is enduring its coldest winter in years. As temperatures drop to -15°C, russia is weaponising the freeze – targeting grids and power stations to deny heat and light to millions. The latest strikes on 8-9th and 13th January severely damaged energy grids in Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipro. Hundreds of thousands lost electricity in the depths of winter. Our response: 629 repair crews working round the clock in sub-zero conditions, under the constant threat of renewed attacks. This is what resilience looks like.

🎤 Standing inside a damaged power plant, Sviatoslav Vakarchuk sent a powerful message to the world: please keep supporting Ukraine. His visit meant a great deal to our energy workers, who continue to restore power under difficult conditions. And his words matter because they speak for so many Ukrainians today: this support saves lives and helps our country stay strong. Behind every restored megawatt are people who refuse to give up, and partners around the world who choose to stand with Ukraine. Thank you for helping us share this message and for standing with Ukraine’s energy resilience.

russia launched its largest energy attack this year as temperatures hit -21°C across Ukraine. DTEK's thermal power plants were severely damaged – the ninth major strike since October. Thousands in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Odesa lost heating and power in the coldest days of winter. Our engineers are working in sub-zero conditions to restore electricity. When winter becomes the weapon, Ukraine's energy workers stand on the frontline. Share their story.

What does it take to keep a city alive when missiles are hitting power stations and transmissions lines faster than repair crews can rebuild them? Ukraine is being forced to o run that experiment in real time this winter – and the answers matter far beyond Kyiv or Dnipro. Our CEO Maxim Timchenko was at Munich Security Conference last week, not asking for sympathy, but to warn Europe about the threat from russia to their energy systems, and to share lessons on how to defend the energy frontline. Read his editorial in The Times and The Sunday Times on what Ukraine needs now to get through the harshest winter in four years of full-scale war, and what its energy system offers Europe in return.

Front page story in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Frankfurter Allgemeine correspondent Stefan Locke visited a DTEK power plant hit by recent strikes, where workers are working in -18 degrees Celcius, clearing debris, salvaging equipment and restarting units after one of the most significant attacks in months. His reporting captures what our engineers face: restarting operations for the 60th time since the full-scale invasion began, whilst knowing the next strike could come at any moment. "We try to save what can be saved," says Volodymyr, 27 years at the plant, standing beside colleagues who've repaired the same plexiglass windows three or four times over.

Winter may be over, but for Ukraine’s energy workers, the work never stops. Roman never planned to live in Kyiv. His life was in Mariupol. After surviving more than a month under russian occupation with no food, no water, and constant shelling, he evacuated his family. The first call he received when his phone finally had signal was from his supervisor: "Are you coming?" Roman didn't hesitate. Today, he repairs high-voltage power lines across Kyiv after missile strikes. When the lights come back on, people stop him in the street to stay thank you and offer coffee and food. For Roman, this was never just a job. "It's simply your purpose in life." Watch his story.

Temperatures dropping again in Kyiv this week and thousands remain without heat or power. Speaking to CNN, our CEO Maxim Timchenko didn't mince words: "I believe it is already a sign of this humanitarian catastrophe when people are living in their apartments at 6 degrees, with children. How severe it becomes depends on the coming weeks." Watch the full interview.

Four years into russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine's energy war is far from over. Speaking live to BBC News (UK) from Kyiv's St. Sofia’s Square, our CEO Maxim Timchenko called it what it is: energy terror – a deliberate campaign to freeze civilians into submission. This winter alone, DTEK teams carried out 30 black starts and restored power in days rather than months, driven by ingenuity forged under fire. The world must recognise what is happening in the heart of Europe – and act.

Undisputed heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk addresses the world to honor Ukrainian heroes. Ukraine’s energy crews risk their lives daily to repair the power grid after russia’s terror attacks. Remember the heroes who keep the lights on. The fight for light continues!

There is no dramatic moment when a power grid comes back to life. Just a hum. Today marks four years since russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine – four years of systematic strikes on the country's energy infrastructure, designed to make the cold and the dark do what its army could not. DTEK's engineers have answered each strike the same way: by going back to work. The transformer restarts. A dispatcher reads coordinates into a radio. Somewhere across the city, a window lights up. 4 years. We simply didn't stop. Our energy powers life.

🎶The Carol of the Bells began as a Ukrainian folk song called Shchedryk (pronounced 'Shedrik'): composed over a century ago to celebrate hope and prosperity. Today its hypnotic melody is known around the world at Christmas time. But this year, from the wreckage of a Ukrainian power plant destroyed by russia, Shchedryk has become a symbol of our resilience. After a brief break to film the Svitlo Concert ('Light Concert') choir, our repair crews picked up their tools and resumed work to restore power in millions of Ukrainian homes. Please share this story and support our efforts to defend light in Ukraine this Christmas.

This #IWD2025, we honour the extraordinary women who embody true empowerment as they work to keep Ukraine's energy flowing during the most challenging times in our nation's history. In this video we hear from Tetiana, who works deep underground piloting trains through mining tunnels, continuing a family tradition that once excluded women. Today, nearly 600 women work at our mines, with 125 working underground. They manage logistics, operate equipment, and ensure that despite russia's relentless attacks on our power grid, Ukraine's lights stay on. Watch Bloomberg's video report on the women who have stepped in to keep Ukraine’s economy going, including Tetiana's story. #StandWithUkraine Bloomberg Originals
