The people of Awdal are not people who support secession. They are patriotic citizens who want to keep their country, Somalia, united and refuse the division of the nation. Since 1991, they have been suffering and dying because militias calling themselves Somaliland have carried out violence against them simply because they stand for Somali unity and reject separation. Where is the Somali government? If Somali unity truly means something, then stand with Awdal. The people of Awdal are shedding their blood for Somali unity and the preservation of Somalia.🇸🇴

This young girl and her mother are in Libya, being held by human traffickers who torture them day and night. It is truly a very painful situation. They are being held for ransom, the money that traffickers usually demand from migrants. The girl say that her mother is the sister of the Somaliland Minister of Aviation, and she added that their family refused to pay the ransom money. This is truly a tragedy. The dark day of 4 February 1991 is a day I will never forget. It is the day when the SNM, together with the TPLF-led regime, massacred the Gadabuursi people in Borama, Saylac, Lughaya, and Baki. It is a black day, a day that the community should remember together for the atrocities committed against our people. They killed 1,000 people within 24 hours the SNM, which is now called ‘Somaliland,’ together with the TPLF-led regime of Ethiopia. They also inflicted severe injuries on many people. An estimated 2,500 civilians mostly women and children were wounded. They displaced 500,000 people and turned them into refugees. When they were supposed to be held accountable, they hid the truth because they were under the protection and power of Ethiopia, which is why the current system was built on that massacre. This system that calls itself ‘Somaliland’ is still continuing the massacres and the oppression of civilians. Evidence of this is that in December 2025, they killed peaceful civilians who were demonstrating they shot 35 young people, and many others were wounded, with around 250 young people still in hospital. Our people have still not received justice, but we hope that peace-loving nations will investigate these incidents and the ongoing killings. Hon. Reports from the town of Arabsiyo indicate that armed forces loyal to the Garxajis-dominated regime have allegedly killed several civilians from the Habar Awal clan this morning. The attack has intensified fears of a wider civil conflict within the enclave, which has long been plagued by clan-based rivalries and disputed claims to authority. Sources suggest that the violence stems from deep-rooted political and territorial grievances among dominant Isaaq sub-clans.

This man in Saylac, who is explaining things to visiting Somalis as if he owns the place, is an Ethiopian Oromo. It’s shocking how he speaks as if the land belongs to him. I believe he is an Ethiopian spy. He must be deported from Saylac immediately. It’s outrageous that he wants to claim our land as his own!

The people of Awdal possess history, land, and a strong national conscience, and they will not accept their homeland being turned into a base for foreign interests. Any attempt to advance foreign interests in the Bab-ul-Mandab through division, clan politics, or a breakaway administration constitutes a violation of Somalia’s sovereignty. The security of the Bab-ul-Mandab can only be ensured through the stability of Somalia, particularly in strategic regions such as Awdal.
