Fifteen years ago, for many states, 4 years of high school math became a requirement for HS students. Some of the Algebra 2 concepts from back then are currently being introduced in the 7th grade! I.e. linear systems For the vast majority of kids, we need to slow the heck down!

🚨 Breaking Education News 🚨 A North Carolina high school student was arrested for assaulting his teacher while classmates recorded and laughed. The teenager is now charged with three misdemeanors for assaulting a government official. Unlike typical cases, the district attorney swiftly investigated the incident after the video surfaced. Forsyth County DA Jim O’Neil stated, “Both Sheriff Kimbrell and I spent the morning at Parkland High School talking with the teacher. This isn’t about race or politics; it's about sending a message of support to teachers. Law enforcement and the District Attorney’s Office stand with you and value the work you do.”

A 4-day school week for students could be a win for EVERYONE. TEACHERS could finally use the 5th day to catch up on their insane workload. STUDENTS could participate in off-campus activities, jobs, appointments, or extracurriculars without living minute-to-minute every day. And before people object because they view schools as daycares, families would adjust…just like they do for summer break, holidays, snow days, and teacher workdays.

Teachers are getting assaulted over cell phones. This is not a battle teachers should have to fight alone. Administrators or security should handle these situations. Teachers are there to teach, not constantly manage behavior crises.

In Chinese schools, innovative desks-turned-beds help kids nap in classes. Parents and teachers alike have welcomed the initiative, noting the positive changes in students' behavior and attentiveness. The initiative aims to recognise the importance of rest and relaxation in supporting cognitive growth and overall mental health of children. Educators, what do you think?

“These students do not care about substitute teachers. They barely care about teachers.” The worst part of the interaction in the video is that an administrator will likely tell the substitute teacher what they did wrong instead of giving meaningful consequences to the student.
