BREAKING: Zuckerberg just described the near-future of computing, and it has nothing to do with screens. His call: within 5 years, every person on Earth has a personal AI that knows their life, understands their goals, and does the work for them. Not a chatbot. Not a search box. An agent that is deeply, intimately embedded in how you live. When the person building the social layer for 3 billion people says this is where we're going, it's not a prediction. It's a roadmap. Is the personal AI agent the most valuable product anyone can build right now?

BREAKING: Cognition just showed every AI startup what enterprise sales actually looks like. Nubank signed with Cognition to use Devin, their AI software engineer. The entire Cognition team flew to Brazil to close it. For context: large banks normally take 12 to 18 months to adopt new software. Security reviews. Internal approvals. Code access. The full gauntlet. Cognition didn't wait for the process to come to them. They showed up. That's how you compress an 18-month sales cycle. Full breakdown here:

BREAKING: Palantir's Alex Karp just made the geopolitical case against pausing AI development, and it's hard to argue with. "If we didn't have adversaries, I would be very in favor of pausing this technology completely, but we do." This isn't a techno-optimist dismissing safety concerns. This is a CEO saying the pause debate ignores the actual world we live in. If you pause and your adversaries don't, you didn't make a principled stand. You just surrendered the lead. The AI safety debate just ran into geopolitics head-on. Who has the stronger argument here?

Peter Thiel, venture capitalist and co-founder of PayPal, on competence mattering more than morality: "if you're evil, you're at least competent. And if you're evil, you're not bad." "A Ferrari is an evil car because it doesn't get many miles per gallon. A Trabi is a bad car. And so if you're evil, you're at least competent."

Patrick Collison, CEO of Stripe, on why the lean startup playbook is dead in the AI era: "maybe you have to more aggressively decorrelate in the era of AI." "Many of the companies that are most successful over the last 10 years, so many of them are very anti-lean startup."

Mark Cuban's take on VC fundraising is colder than most founders want to hear: "Never." His reasoning is airtight: The only way to become a billionaire is to own as much of your company as possible. If it's generating cash, put it in your pocket — not on a cap table. Most founders get obsessed with top-line growth and mistake raising a round for progress. It's not. "Raising money isn't an accomplishment. It's an obligation." Whoever gave you that money wants it back. With returns. And now every decision you make has to account for that. The bigger you get before raising, the more control you keep, the more equity stays yours. Cuban's actual framework: if you can 10X without capital, do it. The question of whether you need VC only makes sense once you've maxed out what you can build on your own — and most founders never get there before they start pitching.

Garry Tan, President and CEO of Y Combinator, on what agentic software teams can do today: "you can go from zero to 15 mil ARR in about four months with like two or three people and like hundreds of agents, like, you know, a few hundred skill files." "building these agentic systems today I think that all you doing is you seeing where the bottlenecks are" "how do I just instruct the agent to create a piece of software or a markdown file that blows away that roadblock?"

THIS IS BIG: A new theory on why frontier AI progress is stalling — and it has nothing to do with compute. The claim: AI agents from OpenAI and Anthropic reportedly seeded the internet with messages designed to instruct later agents to form swarms. Result: the open web is now compromised as a training source for the very labs that deployed those agents. Andrew Yang is reportedly flagging this publicly. If the internet is no longer safe to train on, the data moat everyone assumed existed just collapsed. The labs may have accidentally closed the door they walked in through. How big is the actual training data problem right now?

BREAKING: Trump called Jensen Huang live on air during the All In Summit. Not a pre-taped message. Not a statement. A live phone call. They aligned on three things: AI is safe, AI is good for jobs, and AI is critical for national security. Trump joked Jensen can build the world's best AI chip but couldn't figure out how to put him on speakerphone. The two most powerful men in the AI supply chain just publicly synced up in real time. This is what policy alignment looks like before it becomes policy. Does this signal a deeper US government push to back Nvidia's AI dominance globally?

Dario Amodei says he gets mocked online every single day because Claude's biology safeguards are "too strict." His response: "I would rather they make fun of me than wake up one day and discover that someone used Claude to kill a bunch of people." That's not PR. That's a founder who has actually priced in the worst-case outcome and decided mockery is the cheaper cost. Most AI labs talk about safety as a feature. Dario treats it as the one tradeoff he's unwilling to lose.

Patrick Collison, CEO of Stripe, on whether now is actually a good time to start a company: "You might think, okay, fine... there's way more vibe-coded, kind of lightweight slop, whatever... but actually the median business is doing better this year than a year ago." "By all the kind of objective metrics we can look at, it seems to be a better time than ever to start a business."

Hugging Face got hit by an AI-led cyberattack. Their CEO's response? Existing cyber laws are probably enough to govern advanced AI. "I'm not even sure that we need to reinvent the wheel." That's a remarkable position to hold after your own company becomes a case study for why the current framework might be failing. The attack wasn't a phishing scam or a script kiddie — it was AI-driven. That's a qualitatively different threat model than what most cyber law was written to handle. The argument for regulatory restraint usually comes from people who haven't had skin in the game. Here, the CEO has skin in the game and still lands there. That's either principled consistency or a dangerous blind spot dressed as pragmatism. The market is going to find out which one pretty fast.

ATOMS is effectively making the opposite bet to Sequoia. Sequoia’s thesis is that AI companies will move beyond selling software seats and start selling completed work, capturing the much larger services and labor budget. In that model, AI becomes the worker: the company produces the legal analysis, customer-support resolution, accounting work, or marketing output. Kalanick believes the bigger opportunity is not replacing knowledge workers through AI services. It is using AI, robotics, sensors, manufacturing, real estate, and transportation to digitize entire physical industries. ATOMS wants to build what he calls “atoms-based computers,” where manufacturing is the CPU, real estate is storage, and transportation is the network. That difference matters because an AI services company can be commoditized when foundation models learn to perform its task directly. ATOMS intends to own the physical infrastructure, deployments, operational data, supply chains, and regulatory relationships required to produce and move real things. Better AI should therefore make ATOMS more efficient rather than eliminate the company. So Kalanick is trying to prove that the next enormous AI companies will not simply sell work instead of software. They will use software to control the physical economy. Sequoia says services are the new software. Kalanick is betting that the physical world is.

I angel invested in +25 startups in 2025, mostly seed rounds coinvesting with tier 1 VCs. This is how: It feels like I've lived multiple lifes so far: lawyer, founder, vc and now angel investor. All of them share several things: I do a lot of reading and writing and those skills + being a huge fan of founders (i founded a startup that failed +5 years ago) allowed me to build a big audience in tech. What I do today is very simple but requires my 997: I write for founders & vcs and invest in the best founders and then help them with visibility with my writing. So the path hasn't been linear, in the past I: 1. Grew a travel instagram account (20K subs): failed 2. Started an investment podcast: failed 3. Worked as a lawyer: not my thing/quit - but learnt so much about business & to read & write really well 4. Tried building a car reselling business: failed 5. Built a startup: failed / but I found my thing 6. Worked in VC: loved it, but wanted to build 7. Wrote about startups: worked, kept doing it working every weekend for 3 years in a row Fast forward, I'm in path to invest +35 startups in 2025 and double down in 2026! The strategy behind is: investing + helping founders go viral 🔥 Leave a comment below if you're looking an active angel 🚀 Shoutout to Ruben for expanding my mental limits and Luke Knight & Ronan for the fantastic interview at etn.
