3/4 of fear, or 6/4 of doom... (shrug) I had these few bars of a grim waltz beat with 3 anvil hits at the end of each phrase. Had it scribbled at the back of my head for a few years, until there was a chance to create a carousel theme. What makes music scary? A sudden banging on the door in your ear might work the first time 😉 - but not in looping tracks. For me, church organs have a herri fyi ng sound and huge potential. The medieval recall, the tone, the low frequencies - it's rad... In “Unstrung and Unhinged,” notice the tempo the bassline follows. It’s not triplets. It actually took me a while to figure it out and build the track around it. Of course, there are other elements too, like non-standard percussion, which you’ll often hear in a lot of FNAF soundtracks. The “Back to the Iron Lung” beat concept was born from a heavy metal appliance slam sound that had a surprisingly interesting rhythm. #fnaf #SOTM #gameost #gameaudio #horrorgames #videogamecomposer #nineeighths
