Bengaluru Transformer Blast Outside Amazon Office Leaves Pedestrian Injured Bengaluru A transformer box installed on a footpath outside the #Amazon office near Bagalur Cross in northeastern #Bengaluru exploded on Wednesday morning around 9:49 am, injuring a pedestrian walking along the pavement. The incident occurred outside Gate No. 3 of the office campus, coming under the jurisdiction of the Yelahanka Old Town police station. The injured person has been identified as Md Afroz. Confirming the incident, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Mithun Kumar Sated, "This is at Gate No. 3, Amazon office. One Md Afroz is injured within #Yelahanka Old Town police station limits near Bagalur Cross. He is safe and currently in the hospital." The explosion was captured on dashcam of Arun G, who witnessed the sudden blast."My dashcam captured the incident. Unidentified Gang Goes on Stabbing Spree in Bengaluru; Several Injured Bengaluru Panic gripped parts of Southwest #Bengaluru on Sunday night after a gang of unidentified men allegedly went on a stabbing spree at multiple locations in Uttarahalli, injuring several people in a series of seemingly unprovoked attacks. According to police, the incidents began around 9 pm near Maramma Circle in Hosahalli when six to seven assailants, travelling on three to four motorcycles and armed with machetes and long knives, attacked a group of four friends standing by the roadside. Two of the victims, identified as Kiran N and Kiran H, sustained cut injuries in the assault. One of them remains under treatment in hospital, while the other was discharged after receiving first aid. Minutes later, the gang allegedly moved towards Arehalli Gate on Uttarahalli Main Road and attacked customers and bystanders outside a fish stall. Two men, identified as Raju and Ravi, were injured in the attack. Ravi reportedly suffered severe injuries to his ear and hand. Personnel from Subramanyapura Police Station reached the spots soon after the attacks and later recorded statements from the victims at the hospitals. Confirming the incidents, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Dr Soumyalatha said special teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused.“Around 9 pm, miscreants arrived on bikes and attacked Kiran N and his friends near Maramma Circle without any apparent motive. Subsequently, the same group moved near the Arehalli arch, close to a fish stall, and assaulted two persons, Raju and Ravi,” she said. Karnataka FDA Cancels, Suspends Licences of 24 Pharma Traders in Fake Drug Case Bengaluru In a major regulatory crackdown following a large-scale #CounterfeitMedicine investigation, the Karnataka #FoodSafety and Drug Administration (#FDA) has cancelled the licences of 16 pharmaceutical distributors and retailers and suspended those of eight others. The penalised establishments were found to be involved in the distribution and sale of #SpuriousDrugs across the state. The regulatory action follows an August 18 raid conducted by the Drug Enforcement Wing of the #Karnataka FDA, during which enforcement officers busted an unlicensed repackaging and relabelling operation running covertly from a farmhouse in Kurubarakeranahalli, Bidadi, in #Bengaluru South district. The investigation revealed that the syndicate procured low-cost generic drugs from neighbouring states, repackaged them into vials and affixed forged labels resembling expensive life-saving medications manufactured by multinational pharmaceutical companies. The counterfeit labels also carried non-functional QR codes intended to mislead buyers. Investigators further uncovered boxes of expired pharmaceuticals that were allegedly being prepared for re-entry into the market. According to the Health Department, a stringent criminal case has been registered under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Counterfeit and fake medicines are classified as spurious drugs under Section 17B of the Act. The manufacture, sale, stocking or distribution of such drugs is treated as a grave offence under Section 27, which prescribes a punishment ranging from a minimum of 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment to life imprisonment, in addition to substantial fines. The Karnataka Health Minister U. T. Khader said that such activities will not be tolerated and that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to trace everyone involved in the scandal. The drive was aimed at enforcing the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and related licensing rules. Officials reported widespread contamination and unsafe storage practices. Fungal vegetables and expired dairy, bakery items, chicken, fish and meat were found in several kitchens. Inspections also revealed improper segregation of vegetarian and non‑vegetarian food, misbranding of products, and non‑compliance with #FSSAI labeling norms. Many kitchens were unhygienic, with poorly maintained storage areas that posed serious risks to public health. The raids led to the destruction of hundreds of kilograms of unsafe food: 1. #RadissonBlu (The Atria): 105 kg of expired food, including 50 kg chicken, 25 kg meat, 23 kg fish, and 7 kg vegetables were seized. 2. #TheLalitAshok (Annex South): 76 kg meat, 200 kg vegetables and 32 liters of expired were seized and destroyed. 3. #Taj Yeshwantpur: 72 kg of meat and fish. 4. #FourSeasons Bengaluru: 19 kg of meat was seized. 5. #ShangriLa Bengaluru: 15 kg of meat was seized. 6. #Vivanta Whitefield: 3 kg of expired bakery products. The Commissioner of Food Safety confirmed that notices have been issued to the concerned Food Business Operators. Adjudication proceedings will follow under the provisions of the Act. Officials have warned all hotels and food businesses to ensure strict compliance, cautioning that further action will be taken once laboratory analysis of collected samples is complete. Eight Engineering Students Killed After Car Hits Illegally Parked Lorry in Keralam Thrissur, Keralam Eight engineering students from P.S.N.A. College of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul, #TamilNadu, lost their lives in a horrific accident on National Highway 66 (NH‑66) at Kaipamangalam in Thrissur district of #Keralam. The students were traveling in a Tamil Nadu-registered car that was traveling at high speed when it crashed into the rear of an illegally parked goods lorry on the right side of the highway. Bengaluru Road Accident: Bank Employee Killed in Motorcycle Collision Bengaluru A 27 year old woman lost her life after being struck by a speeding motorcycle while crossing Dr. Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar on Monday afternoon. The victim, identified as Yogeshwari, was employed with #HDFC Bank and resided in Kempegowda Layout of #Bengaluru. The accident occurred around 12:30 pm in front of the HDFC Bank branch, where she had stepped out for lunch with a colleague. While her colleague paused to let the motorcycle pass, Yogeshwari misjudged the speed of the approaching vehicle and was hit with severe impact. She was rushed to Suguna Hospital with critical injuries but succumbed to heavy internal bleeding despite medical intervention. Her body was later shifted to Victoria Hospital for post-mortem examination. The rider of the motorcycle, Deepan (22), also sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment. Bengaluru Daycare Alleges Fired Employees Staged Videos in Extortion Plot at Capgemini Campus Bengaluru Little Scholars, a childcare provider operating at the #Capgemini campus in #Bengaluru,addressed a press conference in Bengaluru alleging a coordinated extortion and defamation campaign orchestrated by disgruntled former employees. According to the company's proprietor, Ms. Ramandeep Kaur and their advocate Aditya Krishna Pandey these individuals manipulated vulnerable children to stage distressing video footage in a premeditated plot for financial blackmail and job reinstatement. The sequence of events reportedly began on Thursday, June 25, 2026, following a physical and verbal altercation during working hours between two daycare employees, Ms. Sujata and Ms. Vijaya Laxmi R. Citing a strict zero-tolerance policy for workplace misconduct, Ms. Ramandeep ordered the immediate termination of both individuals and the confiscation of their credentials. While Ms. Vijaya Laxmi complied, Ms. Sujata allegedly refused to surrender her ID, demanding her pending salary as a precondition. Despite their termination, the two women repeatedly returned to the Capgemini campus over the following days, leading to interventions by ICREST Security. Little Scholars alleges that to manufacture leverage against the company, the accused bypassed strict security protocols to sneak a prohibited mobile phone into the daycare facility. "They specifically targeted vulnerable children who could not speak, relocated them to areas outside of our comprehensive CCTV coverage, and deliberately staged acts of distress to record them on video," #LittleScholars team stated. The company asserts that this manipulated footage was the cornerstone of the extortion plot. On June 29, in an attempt to de-escalate the crisis, Ms. Ramandeep transferred the full pending salaries plus 15 days of severance pay to the terminated employees. Despite receiving proof of payment, Ms. Sujata allegedly denied receiving the funds and threatened to release the staged videos to the media.The situation further escalated through the actions of the former Centre Manager, Ms. Manjula. The press release details that Ms. Manjula introduced an individual named "Mahender," who falsely impersonated a police officer from the Electronic City Police Station. Exploiting the panic surrounding the threat of leaked videos and a purportedly filed First Information Report (FIR), Mahender successfully pressured Ms. Ramandeep into transferring ₹20,000 for "legal fees." Shortly after, he utilized both his and Ms. Manjula's phones to demand an exorbitant sum of ₹2.5 Lakhs. When Ms. Ramandeep recognized the extortionate nature of the demand and refused to pay, Mahender initiated a campaign of psychological pressure, relentlessly calling and forwarding intimidating news reports. On Tuesday, June 30, Capgemini management summoned the involved staff members. Ms. Manjula reportedly attempted to convince her colleagues to defy the corporate investigation. However, acting on direct orders from Ms. Ramandeep, four junior staff members reported to the HAL Police Station. During this inquiry, Sub-Inspector Vidya confirmed that "Mahender" was a fraudulent impostor with no ties to law enforcement. Upon learning that the deception had been uncovered by legitimate police, Ms. Manjula reportedly absconded and remains out of contact. Little Scholars emphasized that corporate client Capgemini bears no fault in the matter, clarifying that Capgemini's role in the operational arrangement is strictly limited to providing the physical premises and infrastructure.

CCTV Footage Shows BJP MLA’s Daughter Slapping Cop at Mandya Temple Mandya, Karnataka Thirteen days after the incident, CCTV footage has emerged showing Aishwarya, daughter of Tumakuru Rural #BJP MLA Suresh Gowda, allegedly slapping a woman police sub-inspector during Bhimana Amavasya celebrations at Aarathi Ukkada Temple in #Srirangapatana. The footage corroborates a complaint filed by #PSI Savitha, who accused Aishwarya of abusing, obstructing, and assaulting her while she was on duty. According to the FIR registered at Kyathanahalli Police Station, Aishwarya demanded immediate entry into the sanctum sanctorum despite heavy crowding on August 12th. When asked to wait briefly, she allegedly shouted at Savitha, invoked her father’s position and slapped her on the cheek.Savitha stated: “She wanted to get inside the sanctum sanctorum. I told her to wait for two minutes due to the rush.
