A USAF KC-135 has crashed over Iraq, possibly after a mid air collision. Aerial refueling has its perils. Pilots and crew make it look easy, but it is anything but. When things go wrong, the consequences can be catastrophic. Here is a clip from a few years back showing a near miss. Hair raising stuff!

"The Raptor makes you feel like King Kong - you can do stuff in it that no one else can do and there is an exclusivity in the F-22 that is not shared by any other airplane in the world." - Lt. Col. David "Chip" Berke USMC. Enjoy 50 seconds of unfiltered Raptor going full Kong. Sound on.

Gone in 30 seconds! The AFRL and Eglin AFB test team demonstrating “QUICKSINK”- a modified GBU-31 JDAM to destroy a full-scale surface vessel in the Gulf of Mexico (April 22, 2022). The special kit is designed to take out static or moving maritime targets with extreme precision.

TWZ says the USMC is testing a ground-effect aircraft called the "Squire." It’s high-tech, but let’s be honest: it’s a flying potato compared to the OG Soviet KM "Caspian Sea Monster." #avgeeks, if you want to see what peak Ekranoplan engineering looks like, watch this short clip of the 500-ton beast in action. Engineering has never looked this terrifying!

Since its combat debut in 1991 Gulf War, the BGM-109 Tomahawk has heralded the start of almost every major U.S. air campaign. It’s the "first door-knocker" - the signature opening move designed to dismantle integrated air defense systems, before manned aircraft ever cross the border. From Desert Storm to Epic Fury, the "TLAM" remains the ultimate tool for high-stakes, low-risk power projection. 1/2

But retirement wasn’t the saddest part - it was the shredding 😪 Unlike other retired jets that quietly end up in museums, hundreds of early-model F-14s were systematically destroyed and ground into scrap metal. This was a strict national security measure meant to prevent spare parts from reaching Iran, the only other nation still operating the F-14. Washington feared that black-market parts from retired U.S. jets could keep the Iranian Tomcat fleet alive. So, to make sure the “Persian Cats” couldn’t keep flying indefinitely, the Pentagon decided that no American Tomcat would remain intact. 3/4

In a war already saturated with brutal moments, this stands out. New footage shows a near point-blank tank duel at a crossroads: a Ukrainian T-64 (likely) facing off against a Russian T-90/T-72 (or a variant). The exchange is brutal, but the real moment comes immediately after. The gambit tank crews run is what made this a hit for me. What do you think, guys?

The AC-130’s 105mm howitzer is the biggest gun ever mounted on an aircraft - but do you know who had the second biggest? The WWII-era B-25G Mitchell carried a 75mm M4 cannon, nearly identical to the one carried by the Sherman tank. Designed for anti-ship and ground attack roles, it turned a medium bomber into a flying artillery piece. Here’s a cool newsreel of the B-25G in action!

⚠️ WARNING – Viewer discretion advised. A chilling video circulating online shows a Ukrainian FPV drone hunting down a Russian Ka-52 “Alligator” mid-air, striking it and sending it crashing to the ground. What follows is even more interesting (and disturbing): within moments, secondary FPVs move in to target the survivors, all while a third drone loiters overhead providing overwatch, command, and coordination. A multi-million dollar apex predator, hunted down and destroyed by cheap, networker, hobbyist tech. Incredible! #avgeeks, we are witnessing a paradigm shift.

Incredible WWII gun camera footage captures a B-17G in the crosshairs of a Me 163, Luftwaffe's rocket-powered interceptor (August 16, 1944). Despite sustaining heavy damage from Me 163's powerful 30mm cannons, this B-17 miraculously managed to return to its base in Britain.

You don’t see this every day. A B-52H from Barksdale AFB suffered a drag-chute malfunction in December, deploying mid-flight and trailing over NAS JRB Fort Worth before being safely jettisoned. The BUFF returned to Barksdale without incident. Rare to witness and even rarer to catch on camera. Via KP’s Aviation Photography (FB).

Slower speeds, longer loiter times, and better visibility make helicopters ideal for hunting kamikaze drones. A fact proven by Lt. Col. Roman Bilobryukov, a Ukrainian Mi-8 pilot credited with downing 132 Russian UAVs (as of May) in just two anti-drone rotations. Technically, that makes Bilobryukov the highest-scoring flying ace of the 21st century!
