Three planes flew through the middle of Hurricane Isaias overnight. The pressure dropped from 973 to 962 in five hours while they were in there. Lower means stronger, and it's now 1 mph short of a Category 3.

A full day after landfall, what's left of Isaias did this. The red streak is the storm's rotation on radar, the blue dots are WeatherWise storm chasers, and a tornado was confirmed along it again and again for three and a half hours.

One hurricane did all of this. 57 tornado warnings in three days, and the last ones were about 600 miles from where it came ashore.

103 million birds crossed Wisconsin last night. This is what that looks like on radar. Those rings are not rain. They are birds, lifting off after dark and peaking just before midnight. Tonight the wave moves east. 270 million on the move, the heaviest over Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and western New York. Lights out dusk to dawn. Lights pull them off course.

44 million birds crossed Kentucky last night. Another 42 million crossed Tennessee. A lot of y’all said those radar blooms couldn’t be birds. They were. Radar sends out two signals, one horizontal and one vertical. Rain reflects them almost the same. Birds don’t. That’s why storms in South Dakota showed up purple, while the birds over Kentucky showed up orange. And the reason the blooms hug the radar sites? The beam gets higher the farther it travels. Most migrating birds are only a couple thousand feet up, so radar sees them best nearby.

Dodge City and central Ford County, Kansas, this is as catastrophic as flash flooding gets right now. 3 to 6 inches have already fallen with 3 to 5 more possible, and emergency management says it's already happening. Climb up, stay up, and stay off the roads until this runs out at 5:30pm CDT.

The Pacific Ocean is going absolutely nuts right now. There are currently SIX named tropical cyclones spinning across the basin at the same time. Meanwhile, over in the Atlantic, we can barely get one storm to organize. El Niño has entered the chat.

TIRED OF SNOW? Well... I was poking through some longer range data today and noticed a slight severe weather signal about 3 weeks out. Total long shot at this range, but would you welcome the warmup that comes with storms?

This is crazy I don't think I've ever seen the National Weather Service warning system fail like this during a live event. Please spread the word to anyone in eastern Kentucky to seek shelter.

Please do not do this. Parking under an overpass does not protect you from a tornado, and it blocks the entire highway for everyone behind you. It is incredibly dangerous for everyone involved.
