These people from Kashmir are pounding and mincing the boneless meat for Kashmiri cuisine. Since it is a long a tedious task, they introduced some singing in it. Waza (chef) singers of Kashmir are singing about life, sufi poems, or for blessings on host family in weddings. The rhythm of song is matched with mallets and it is such a sight to see these people work. I hope we do take care of our non-vegetarian heritage when guests visit us in state functions. The culinary traditions preserved for centuries, the creativity and stories behind every such dish, the histories of people following a path.

This dehati behaviour is just too irritating. Cannot imagine to encounter such a family travelling with 2 days of ration & chopping onions tomatoes while discussing what they will eat next. 🤦🏻♂️ But, at the same point I cannot totally blame them due to food quality everywhere.

Do they even understand how dangerous this is? Putting this much amount on alcohol in your system so quickly can lead to lethal alcohol poisoning. You can aspirate. Beer can go into your lungs & you won’t even have time to give stop signal as hands are behind your back. How is this even allowed I don’t know. But don’t do these low IQ activities.

China finished Gaokao yesterday. It is the exam 13 million students take for admission in Universities. Here they are touching the number 985 & 211 for good luck. Policemen with badges & cars of those numbers & especially standing to rub the luck on students. 985- number of elite universities 211- China’s top universities How happy kids and policemen are. No checking, no paper leaks, no unnecessary extra stress on students before exam. And btw, Indian paper leaks made global news & China too knows about it. In some posts they have started to mention how they conduct such large examinations.

Indian middle class sending kids to these real colleges is saving this country. These kids gonna face about 100 exams and 80 practicals in 4-5 years. Will face pressure to complete thesis, projects, & assignments. In hostels, they will learn to live with someone who has totally different life trajectories & socioeconomic backgrounds than them. They will learn how many languages this country speaks & how women are equally competent in professional lives. They will make & amend friendships. They will challenge their own prejudices. They will go through heartbreaks & stress to get a decent job. Many will break the chains of poverty for their families. They will have lifelong alumni support. In all that, sure they will have some vices and have some fun. They deserve it. The life lessons, economics of solo survival, politics & realities of country, everything will be taught in those years. Wish all kids could have a hostel life in this country. We could be less dehati in mindset.

How unchecked “investment in property” is fuelling a housing crisis in India. This famous YouTuber bought a plot next to his house even when he did not need it. He bought it “jabardasti” as 150 flats were being made there. Now 150 families cannot shift here because he can buy this plot. Those 150 families are forced now either shift to a bad location or to live on rent. The rent will be higher as there is shortage of houses at good locations due to investment like these. This is just an example & at least he has a visible tax paid income (I assume). Now imagine all those people with black money & how they are making it impossible for new middle class to live in cities & in good localities.

Bhai I try hard to control myself but there is no limit to dehatism & if you allow a bit, it gets out of control. My self mission is to make people at least a bit ashamed of their activities. This is not your house, this is public space. But, the same selfish people that we are! Have no regards for mannerism. All the preaching is for others & “we are right because we paid” mindset.

She is an Airbnb host in India. She shares how guests leave her property and how most Indians consider Airbnb as just a party place and leave unbelievable mess sometimes. “We are paying cleaning charges na”. True. I judge people on how they leave behind hotel rooms too. Why? Because a robot won’t clean up behind you. It will be a human being with dignity who should not be the one picking up your filth behind you. At least the part which you could dispose of responsibly. But, some people just don’t get it and laugh on you for keeping your hotel rooms & Airbnb tidy.

Forest Department in Madhya Pradesh issued notification for 8 posts of forest guards for candidates belonging to three tribes (Baiga, Bharia, & Saharia). After checking eligibility, 26 were called for physical. Only 1 came for it. She completed 15 km walk alone & got the job. 7 posts gone vacant. Now the Govt & NGOs are wondering if these scheduled tribes are such backward that they did not have even 8 such candidates for these posts? But, there is a lesson here. I see so many people miss interviews & exams thinking there are too many people applying for posts too few. Don’t do that. Luck is a factor even science hasn’t fully discarded in any equation. You have almost no control on it. So, try your best with optimism. Congratulations to this girl for showing up.
