I use Instagram like once every two weeks and this was the first thing I saw today 😭

All time classic.

In NewDark 1.29 for Thief, now you can open a door halfway and hide under the dynamically created shadow (you can also enable guards to notice the player's shadow).

I've been thinking about this decision of "DEATHLOOP" every now and then. It's quite ironic people say it has no replay value, because it was designed to be a game that players "replay" so much in a focused period of time, and it'll be okay if they never come back. 🧵

It's hard to find footage on the internet so I recorded my own. Prey is still my favorite immersive sim.

I don't know what to think anymore.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (2006) Arkane's most janky yet fun physics-based action game. I tried to squeeze in as many gameplay elements as possible in this short video. I hope you all enjoy it. 🧵

"DEATHLOOP" (2021) Arkane Lyon's latest game, a first-person action shooter set in the same universe as and years after Dishonored. It's a mechanical immersive sim, and arguably the most misunderstood game from Arkane. Anyways, here are 4 ways to enter Egor's nullifier room.

Rewatching SAC and laughed hard at this scene. Motoko took the rooftop window, Togusa came out of a vent, Batou struck from "the space behind the walls". They're in an immersive sim alright.

Ken Levine talks about how Ghost Story Games uses Gemini to help with: - summarizing scripts - finding root cause in bug logs - analyzing the player’s telemetry data - building queryable design document database He’s skeptical on the generative side of Al: (1/2)

Prey (2017) Arkane Austin's magnum opus, released 9 years ago today. If someone asks what an immersive sim is, show them this.

Okay I dig this.

Arx Fatalis (2002) Arkane Studios' first game, an Ultima Underworld-inspired dungeon crawler RPG with a novel magic system. The immersive sim DNA was already strong. In example, let's brew a magic potion using Yellow Tulip Tavern's cauldron without permission, for Lord Inut.

Dishonored 2 (2016) In this video, I'll showcase the following: - how to choke air - how to break Jindosh's arm - how to jump over Jindosh's bottom - how to store electricity using ceiling lamps - how to observe the launching of a science rocket

If I can only put ONE game on Thief fans' radars, it will be Noirmancer. It's a noir, supernatural, stealth immersive sim where you use powers like the ability to shrink, erase memories, turn to mist, swim in the air to infiltrate dirty business.

Odd Town, a bite-sized open world immersive sim set in a small (F R E N C H) town, had a new trailer earlier this month and is getting published by Hyperstrange. I somehow totally missed this news!

Can't stop won't stop? I finally tried the pain train build in Deathloop.

DEFICIT, an action immersive sim that focuses on chunky punchy close quarters battle and environmental havoc, new demo available now!

Dark Messiah-inspired The Adventures of Sir Kicksalot is OUT NOW! Explore a handcrafted campaign filled with unique levels, absurd situations, and a princess rescue story that quickly goes very, very wrong.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire

I was expelled from the Party. "Every comrade saw you jumping there, it was embarrasing!", they said.

Thick As Thieves first impressions: 🧵

Project Shadowglass aims to be the first Thief-inspired immersive sim RPG to feature raytraced audio reflections, along with dynamic shadows, physics-based interactions, and day/night cycle. It seems to be still at prototype stage, but a demo is promised to be coming this year.
