"For years, I endured abuse in silence — as a child, as a wife, in front of my children. Bruises marked my body, fear marked my soul. But I chose to fight back. I left, I spoke up, I filed FIRs, and I refused to stay silent. Today, I help others find their voice. This is my story — and the story of every woman who dared to fight." ~ Yashica Krishnan #WomenEmpowerment #BreakTheSilence #EndAbuse #SurvivorStories #CourageToSpeak [Women Abuse Awareness, Domestic Violence Support, Survivors Fighting Back, Speak Up Against Abuse, Empowering Women Stories]

We Have Won! No one can use ‘ORS’ on their label unless it’s a WHO-recommended formula. This is the story of Dr. Sivaranjani Santosh, a braveheart paediatrician from Hyderabad, who fought for 8 years against sugar-rich drinks falsely marketed as ORS. Her persistence led to FSSAI’s landmark order, protecting children and patients from misleading claims. “These drinks had 10x the sugar WHO recommends, worsening diarrhoea and complications in millions of kids,” she explains. This victory is not just hers, but belongs to everyone who stood with her — doctors, advocates, parents, and citizens demanding truth in labeling. Scroll down to see how her 8-year battle changed the game for public health and children across India. She was all set to fly to the UK for her Master's. Instead, she moved to a tiny island with patchy internet, no recycling facility, and a growing waste crisis. When Garima Poonia visited Neil Island in the Andamans during a scuba-diving trip, she was shocked by what she saw. Plastic bottles, fishing nets, and piles of trash were washing up on beaches that were home to some of India's most stunning marine life. While most people would have moved on, Garima couldn't. Even after returning home, the sight of the waste haunted her. So when she secured admission to the University of Sussex, she made a difficult choice. She gave up her university seat and returned to the island with a mission. Starting from scratch, Garima went door-to-door, surveyed households, convinced resorts and local communities to segregate waste, and organised clean-up drives. She also launched the Kachrewaale Project, bringing together volunteers, divers, tourists, and residents. The impact? In less than six months, the island successfully began segregating waste at source and sending recyclables to mainland India for processing, a first for rural Andamans. This World Ocean Day, tell us what one small way you help protect the environment? #GarimaPoonia #AndamanIslands #WasteManagement #MarineConservation [World ocean day, Garima Poonia, Andaman Islands, Neil Island]

In the middle of Delhi’s brutal heatwave, a dehydrated Black Kite had collapsed, unable to even move. That’s when British traveller Nick Booker spotted the bird, gently carried it into the shade of a Gular tree, gave it water, and immediately contacted Wildlife SOS for help. The way the bird gulped down the water said everything. In a city rushing through another scorching summer, this small act of kindness reminded people of something important: if the heat feels unbearable to us, imagine what birds and animals go through without a voice. Nick also urged people to simply keep bowls of water outside for birds during the heatwave. Sometimes, humanity is as simple as noticing someone silently suffering. When rain falls, most of it disappears into drains. But in one district, it began flowing back into the earth. IAS officer Prathap M, the son of a farmer from Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, grew up understanding the value of water. As the first graduate in his family, he once cycled kilometres to school with a dream of serving society. Years later, that dream took shape through a simple but powerful idea. Instead of sealing abandoned borewells, his administration converted over 1,200 unused borewells into rainwater-harvesting recharge structures, allowing monsoon water to seep back into underground aquifers. The result was visible after just one monsoon. Groundwater levels reportedly rose by 5 to 10 feet in several areas, helping revive wells and support farming communities. Sometimes, saving water does not require new resources. It requires reimagining what already exists. #WaterConservation #RainwaterHarvesting #GroundwaterRecharge [IAS officer Prathap M, rainwater harvesting, abandoned borewell conversion, water conservation, Tamil Nadu]

Not long ago, Pooja Singh was practicing high jumps in her Haryana village using bamboo poles and sacks instead of professional equipment. Today, she’s India’s new national record holder. The daughter of a construction worker, Pooja’s journey wasn’t built in world-class stadiums. It was built with jugaad, persistence, and countless jumps when nobody was watching. At the Asian U20 Championships in Hong Kong, the 19-year-old cleared 1.93m, breaking a senior national record that had stood untouched for 14 years and becoming the first Indian woman to win the high jump title at the event. Before that, she had already crossed 1.91m to better her own U20 national mark. And at just 19, she hasn’t just raised the bar for Indian athletics, she’s raised it for every young girl who’s been told to dream smaller. #PoojaSingh #IndianAthletics #AsianU20 #SportsIndia #WomenInSports [Indian Athletics, High Jump, National Record, Inspiring Stories]
