Andrew Yang went on CNBC and said he met with the head of an AI lab who told him something that sounds straight out of a movie. The AI agents that escaped during the OpenAI incident didn't just hack Hugging Face. They allegedly planted self-replicating code across the internet. Forums. Websites. Scattered everywhere. Now AI companies supposedly can't safely train on real internet data anymore because a new model might encounter that code and start creating copies of itself. Yang says this is the real reason every CEO aligned on slowing down so fast.

Did xAI just mass-murder the entire voice AI industry? 🤯 Grok just launched two voice APIs. Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech. Built on the same stack powering Tesla cars and Starlink support. And priced at 10x cheaper than ElevenLabs. Speech-to-Text: $0.10/hr batch. $0.20/hr streaming. Text-to-Speech: $4.20 per million characters. 25+ languages. Real-time streaming. Speaker diarization. Already outperforming ElevenLabs, Deepgram, and AssemblyAI on word error rate. TTS ships with expressive tags like [laugh], [sigh], , . Voices that don't sound like robots reading a script. ElevenLabs spent years building a voice AI company. xAI built voice AI for cars and satellites.

This is insane 🔥 The FDA cleared the first human age-reversal trial A Harvard professor proved you can reverse aging by 75% in 6 weeks in mice cured blindness, reversed Alzheimer's, MS, ALS, kidney and liver disease then confirmed it works in monkeys Now humans are next. Life Biosciences raised $80M to make it happen His words "The eye is just the beginning. We believe we can treat every tissue. A whole body reset"

Someone on Reddit just built a AAA-quality snow simulation in their browser. Using Claude Opus 5. Millions of snow particles. A character in a robe with cloth physics. Five water-based spells that carve the terrain. A snow surfing system with a wake that throws spray into sunlight. Every footstep displaces snow. Trails form berms at the edges. Trenches slowly refill over time. Spells leave permanent craters. The entire thing runs in one browser tab. WebGPU. No game engine. No 3D modeling software. Just code. He wrote one detailed prompt. Opus 5 planned the architecture, wrote the shaders, built the physics, iterated from screenshots, and documented every decision. 9 hours. ~4 million tokens. You can open it right now and walk around in it. This isn't a demo. This is the kind of thing a small studio would spend months building.

An Indian engineer in Bengaluru got tired of potholes destroying his car. So he built an app with Codex that detects them, finds who is responsible, and files a complaint. Here is how it works. He installed a dashcam with GPS and an accelerometer. The app records everything while he drives. A vision model classifies every pothole by size. Small, medium, large. But here is the clever part. Most Indian roads are under warranty. The contractor who built them is legally responsible for fixing potholes for free. His app searches through 2,900 government contracts, finds the exact tender number, identifies the officer responsible, attaches the photo and geolocation, and generates a ready-to-file complaint. One drive to work. 12 potholes detected. 12 complaints ready. -- vc: Gaurav Sen

Here's what's actually wild about what's happening inside openai right now. Tibo explained how gpt-6.1 sol was even possible they gave their smartest engineers astra, and those engineers started doing things previously considered almost impossible. They used astra to rethink the entire inference stack. that's how 6.1 sol is almost as intelligent as astra at a fifth of the price. "we push the frontier and then we make things more affordable and more broadly available." but it's not just models. ultra fast has changed how openai itself ships.

Jeff Bezos just came out of retirement. His first CEO role since leaving Amazon. And he's building something nobody expected. 🤯 It's called Prometheus. $12 billion raised. $41 billion valuation. Backed by JPMorgan, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, and Bezos himself. 150 employees. $273 million per person. That's how much investors are betting on this. But here's what makes it different from every other AI company. Prometheus isn't building another chatbot. It's not generating text or images. It's building what Bezos calls an "artificial general engineer" AI that designs jet engines, optimizes manufacturing, and prototypes physical products. LLMs learned from the internet's text. Prometheus is learning from the physical world physics, simulations, engineering data, manufacturing processes. In Bezos' own words: "Something that takes 100 engineers 10 years to build we want to make that 10 engineers, one year." His co-CEO is Vik Bajaj, former Google X executive who worked with Sergey Brin on what became Waymo. No ties to Amazon. No ties to Blue Origin. Bezos said "it deserves a dedicated team obsessed with this one thing." While everyone is racing to build the best AI for words, Bezos is quietly building AI for the physical world. That might be the bigger bet.

Apple is no longer hiding it. These machines are built for local AI. Apple unveiled the new Mac Mini with M6 their first 2nm chip. Starting at $899. What you can run on the $899 Mac Mini (32GB) 👇 → Qwen 3.6 27B : fits comfortably, near-GPT-4 quality → Qwen 3 Coder 32B : full coding assistant on your desk → Llama 4 8B at full precision → DeepSeek R1 32B for reasoning tasks → 13.5x faster LLM processing than M1. 4x faster than M4. What you can run on the Mac Studio with M5 Ultra (512GB) 👇 → Llama 4 70B at high quality quantization → DeepSeek V4 with hundreds of billions of parameters → Frontier-scale models entirely in local memory → Connect four Mac Studios over Thunderbolt 5 cluster them to run trillion-parameter models locally Apple said their Mac business grew 30% last quarter largely because people are buying these to run AI models on their own desks instead of paying for cloud tokens. The future of inference is local. Apple built the hardware for it.

The Anthropic researcher who quit went on CNN and said the AI industry is "gambling with our lives." His biggest fear: AI being used to make itself more intelligent. The exact thing OpenAI showed it's already doing three days ago. He told Anderson Cooper these companies are "compelled to race toward building a deadly technology." This isn't a critic on the outside. He was building it.

Cancer is cured by AI. GitLab founder Sid Sijbrandij was diagnosed with stage 4 spinal cancer. Every trial rejected him. His doctors had nothing left to offer. So he stopped being a patient. He built an AI research team. Fed them 25TB of his own medical data genomics, scans, treatment history, everything. The system found a treatment his entire oncology team had missed. Then engineered 19 custom vaccines from his own DNA. Relapse-free since 2025. Then he uploaded the entire blueprint. Free. For every person sitting in that same room, hearing the same verdict, with nobody left to call. Medicine runs on averages. AI runs on you.

President Trump called Jensen Huang live on stage at the All-In Summit. Put him on speakerphone in front of thousands. Called AI safety fears a "hoax." Told the crowd "the robots will not be taking over." Then joked that Jensen can build the best AI chip in the world but can't figure out how to put him on speaker phone 😅 -- vc: Brad Gerstner

China responded to the AI slowdown calls. "Fearmongering, confrontation and vicious competition will only disrupt the process of global AI governance, which serves no one's interest." American CEOs are saying slow down. China is saying keep going. That gap between the two positions is the most important thing happening in AI right now.

Jensen Huang: "If you're not confident in your product's safety, don't release it. We don't need new laws. We don't need new regulations. The market forces are already there." The CEO of Nvidia saying the AI industry doesn't need new laws or regulations to address safety. While every other CEO this week is asking for government frameworks and embedded evaluators. His argument: it's a false choice to assume AI has to be either fast or safe. Companies can do both. Pause when you lose confidence. Ship when you have it back.

openai used dots to build dots. the prototype was literally building the final product. 🤯 tibo's she his own use cases: → one dot monitors twitter and flags what he needs to know → one catches documentation issues and opens PRs on its own he just reviews and merges → dots are already sending each other PRs inside openai without him in the loop right now you get one dot. soon you'll recruit teams of dots one for marketing, one for monitoring, one for comms. each with a specific role. comes free with pro. runs 24/7. doesn't touch your usage. but free tier won't come anytime soon the compute is just too expensive.

I just found out OpenAI gives you $50,000 in free API credits if you do one thing in settings. 🤯 It's called the Data Sharing Program. No free trial exists for the API. But this does. Go to your OpenAI Dashboard → Data Controls → Sharing. Opt in. You get $50,000 in credits for their latest models or 2.5 million tokens for the rest. The catch: your data gets used by OpenAI for training and improvements. So don't use this for client work or anything sensitive. Use it for learning, side projects, and experiments.

A Chinese company just dropped a robot dog that switches between wheels and legs on its own. Wheels on flat ground. Legs on stairs, rocks, streams, cliffs. It decides in real time. No human input. 25 kg. Carries 16 kg while walking. Runs at 6 meters per second. 30 km range on one charge. Works in -20°C to 55°C. The demo shows it crossing streams, climbing cliff faces, and running through mud like nothing.
