Good morning from The Hague! 🇳🇱 Earlier this year,... I had an unexpected financial windfall and decided to invest that amount in power stations for the front line in Ukraine. 🇺🇦 After consulting with Alex Bond about the right type and power output, I ordered 10 power stations of 1800W seven weeks ago. These were recently delivered in Frankfurt 🇩🇪, and by now one has already reached Ukraine. ❤️‍🔥💪🏼 The rest will also go straight from Frankfurt to the front. Alex and Irishka are coordinating between themselves to determine which units need them most right now. One power station will go to a SOF unit that Alex supports, where equipment was recently destroyed.😔 I know how incredibly busy all the Ukrainian volunteers are. They are operating at the very edge of what is humanly possible. Nashville Supercross 🤠 I booked a suite and watched... the races with old and new friends last night. Throughout the night dozens of people stopped by to watch - the Dirt Bike Depot team, Joan Cros and his mechanic Michael, and @SouthernPuddles and @RealMrPuddles. At one point, I counted over 20 people in the 18-person suite 😄 it was an awesome environment to watch the night show! I got to listen in on the DBD team headset during Linville’s LCQ ride. What a great ride from him, especially in an East West showdown. 👏 I took very few pictures yesterday and don’t really care 😂 I was too busy enjoying myself lol.show more

We've analysed the #TreasurersDebate on the ABC last night,... hosted by Snarky herself, Sarah Ferguson. This is Clip #1 – short clip – of a series where we point out a few interesting things. This isn’t the biggest deal in the scheme of things, but you’ll notice two things straight off: 1️⃣ Ferguson addresses Dr Jim Chalmers with "we’ll start with you", but immediately shifts tone and calls Angus Taylor simply “Angus.” Subtle difference, but it sets the tone. And in our view? Biased as fuck. 2️⃣ When she introduces Dr Jim Chalmers – and yes, he has a PhD – she follows up his point with: “I hope everybody at home heard that clearly.” What’s alarming is what she’s reinforcing isn’t the full context. Dr Chalmers clearly addresses it right after: “...but what that analysis ignores is that our government has engineered the biggest ever single-term improvement in a budget in our history – more than $200 billion. Once he opened it, it turned out he had personally put together a character profile of Luan Nian, along with his own understanding of the role. “He broke down the character with the main creative team as if he were presenting a ppt. At that moment, I thought: He is literally Luan Nian himself.” After reading the script, Jing Boran had a very deep understanding of his character. He also took the initiative to suggest that this idol drama should have its own distinctive aesthetic and visual identity. He actively discussed Luan Nian’s outfits and even the interior design and decor of his home with the team. He was extremely meticulous when it came to the styling. Before filming even started, he sent truckload after truckload of his own clothes to the set. in the original novel, Shang Zhitao is from Harbin and is 172cm tall, a height that Sun Qian herself perfectly matches. During their first meeting in person, Sun Qian directly expressed her deep admiration for the character of Shang Zhitao. “Qianqian told me that she herself had been a migrant worker in Beijing and had to bear everything on her own, ” Gao Xiaoxian said “Later she even asked me if we would film in Harbin”. Sun Qian was especially happy to learn that the series would be filmed in both Beijing and Harbin. She herself has a cheerful and genuine personality, which is highly consistent with the character’s background "On the day of the costume fitting, Jing Boran and Sun Qianyi changed clothes in turn, probably dozens of outfits. Ethiopian elders in white netela shawls chatting with Russian-speaking olim. Arab women in hijabs heading to work or university, American tourists clutching their maps. Soldiers with M-16s slung over their shoulders dozing off after a long shift. Everyone somehow coexisting in that cramped, swaying metal box. You’ll hear Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, Amharic, French, English, and Yiddish all overlapping at once. Someone’s always eating falafel or burekas, someone else is arguing with the driver about exact change, and half the bus is staring at their phones while the other half is staring out the window at the ancient stones whizzing by. Grief impacts each orphan differently. For some, rescued within... days or hours of birth with little memory of their lost mother or herd, it is fleeting. Instinctually, they follow any figure bigger than themselves, grateful for comfort. Others, rescued at an older age, with deeper memories, feel it more acutely. They retreat from the world and need lots of patience as they slowly begin to trust and come out of their shells. We rescued Alia last October. She arrived at our Nairobi Nursery deeply withdrawn after losing her mother and family. For months, she kept to herself and watched the other orphans play from a distance. This April, the Keepers noticed something change. She climbed into the mud wallow with the herd. She even invited Arthi to play. China Successfully Tests New Hypersonic Missile with 8,000 km... Range The Chinese have successfully tested a variant of a hypersonic missile, which is actually a glide vehicle: the DF-27A. The average speed was Mach 8.6, and it covered 2,100 km in 12 minutes. This is just one more in a series of several Chinese anti-ship missiles. While much of the West treats military service as an economic activity, the Chinese are preparing for a real war. There is no room there for playing around with a new class of battleships or listening to the lobby for expensive energy. China has a national industrial and military project that Western nations currently can only dream of achieving. Of course, it's part of the Western style to live life differently. But there is a serious missile gap, with China far ahead of the West. An 8,000 km range means hitting a ship in Hawaii without leaving mainland China. And there are other missile models with ranges of 3,000–4,000 km. Intercepting these hypersonic missiles once launched is extremely difficult, but what can be done is to prevent them from having precise guidance capability. Just as land doctrines are being redesigned, so is naval warfare, by hypersonic missiles and aerial and underwater drones. Projects are now underway for drones capable of bypassing protective nets. Today, the Chinese have more missiles in stock than the Soviets had at their peak. And I won't even mention drones, as the numbers are almost unimaginable. Only a major reform could improve the West’s position. The West is currently developing some missile systems that should be available around 2030, but a doctrinal reform is also necessary. Countries cannot fight in 2025 the same way wars were fought decades ago; a complete reform is required. This reminds me of Ukrainian soldiers who, after being trained in the West and then facing the reality of the battlefield, said that the training was completely inadequate for the kind of war they were actually fighting. Watched all four episodes of The #MabasoFamilyReunion on Netflix,... and I enjoyed it! This is definitely another dope local comedy-drama done so well. The entire cast was absolutely brilliant, and the storyline was relatable and hilarious. Black Brain Pictures did a fantastic job with this show, and they had me laughing at most of the scenes. All the lead actors delivered brilliant performances. This was a good family-friendly, hilarious, and relatable comedy-drama series. I’m rating it 7.5/10. I wanted to give it an 8, but honestly, four episodes were not enough! 😂 To be honest, I want to see more comedy/comedy-drama shows produced by Black Brain Pictures on Netflix. They really redeemed themselves after Piano Love.show more
