New open-source agent harness just landed! I got early... access to TrueForge by TrueFoundry and have been running it locally for the past few days. The harness layer deserves as much attention as the model, and open source matters here because you can inspect the loop, run it on your own infrastructure, and swap to the latest or cheaper models. TrueForge handles the runtime work that makes an agent reliable. It drives the tool-calling loop, manages context, coordinates subagents, and executes code in a sandbox, with any model you choose. Every tool call re-sends the growing context to the model, so in practice the harness controls most of what an agent costs to run. A few things stood out from my testing and their published benchmarks. Vendor-Neutral by design. It runs OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google models alongside open-weight models like Kimi, GLM, and DeepSeek. Model routing is a setting, and you can send each task to the model that fits it. On a 14-task enterprise agent benchmark, it matched the accuracy of Claude Managed Agents running the same Opus 4.8 model at roughly 30% lower cost per run (3.8M tokens vs 10M for the same answers). Routing the same tasks to GLM-5.2 held accuracy and brought cost down by about 75%, around $3 per run instead of $12. Fully self-hosted and Open Source (MIT License). 🚨BREAKING: Another ICE agent has been caught on video... illegally pointing a firearm at a U.S. citizen, in Lemonwood, California. In the video, an unmarked ICE vehicle is stopped in the middle of the road… no vehicles are in front of it, and nothing is preventing them from driving forward. Instead of continuing to drive down the road, the ICE agent is blocking a pickup truck from turning, while pointing a gun, out their window, directly at the driver of that truck. The truck backs up, but the agent still keeps the firearm pointed at the driver. Only AFTER people begin honking their horns does the agent lower their weapon, and drive away. The law states that pointing a firearm at someone is considered a serious threat of deadly force. It is only justified when an officer has an objectively reasonable belief that they are facing an immediate threat of death, or serious bodily harm. It is not legally allowed to be used to control traffic, and it is not legally allowed to be used as intimidation. And that’s exactly why this video should be alarming to you. The agent is not boxed in… nothing is preventing them from driving down the street. Meanwhile, the agent is the one preventing the truck from continuing its turn. And they are doing so while pointing a gun at the driver. So, the question becomes… What immediate threat justified the ICE agent to stop their car, and point a firearm at a U.S. citizen? Because we are seeing a growing pattern, of publicly documented incidents, where ICE agents point firearms at legal observers, journalists, and bystanders during enforcement encounters… when they are not facing an immediate threat of death. That is not how public safety works. Pointing a firearm at someone is one of the most serious things an officer can do, because it instantly escalates an encounter into a potential deadly force situation. And that is exactly why the law is supposed to restrict it. Every unnecessary drawn gun increases the risk of a wrong judgment, and a fatal mistake. And when there is no accountability, for when that line gets crossed, drawing a gun because the normal for every situation. And when it becomes normal, more people’s lives are put in danger.show more

Simplicity is at the heart of great software. This... is one of the reasons why Claude Code has been sticky for me. As a builder, I love planning and brainstorming, and this is now a key focus of Claude Code. I use Shift + Tab a lot to cycle between brainstorming, planning, and execution. This functionality provides the appropriate interface for me to either be very involved or less involved as I please. This works particularly well when building out new and complex features or entire new projects. This saves a huge amount of time. It allows me to tune Claude Code to execute and build more effectively. It also builds a loop of trust, and I often (surprisingly) find Claude Code asking for clarifications when it's confused. Coding agents don't normally do that. I have shared before on the power of brainstorming with AI for longer times. Try it and you will not be disappointed. Vibe coding is fun, but pair it with intentional development cycles, and you watch how far you can take a project with coding agents today.show more

HTML Artifacts are a big part of how I... work with agents now. Artifacts can be more than just static files. When combined with agents, they can take action or help you take action. This unlocks all kinds of interesting ways to work with agents. This is clearly the future. Check out this writing and scheduler artifact I built in a few minutes. It uses a bit of HTML and JS. All the data is in markdown (Obsidian vaults), so the agent can access and modify it at any time. No DB needed. No sophisticated functionalities. The agent decides all that for me based on the skills, context, and memory it has access to. The best part about this simple stack is that all the important information stays with me. This has allowed me to build a recursive self-improving system and automations that can better tap into coding agents like Codex or Claude Code. I could have paid or built an entire app for scheduling posts, and there are so many of them out there. But I don't need to. I've realized a simple artifact does the job. And the simplicity of it is actually an advantage. Very little maintenance for very high returns on personalization, time, and efficiency. The other benefit of this is that I can add features as I please. That level of personalization feels magical, and we should all be pursuing more of it. All of this just keeps compounding. Of course, this example is just about writing. But I have similar artifacts for research, design, experimentation, evaluation, and so much more. And no, I didn't actually publish the post example I shared in the clip. It was just for demonstration purposes. I actually spend more time than this when writing together with agents. Lastly, having built my own agent orchestrator tool has made me realize that simplifying the tool stack is a superpower. Very pleasantly surprised to discover Cursor cloud agents can... playtest the godot game I built. See the (sped up) video below of the agent playtesting the game. As I was watching it play the game, I can see the agent slowly learn how the game works and familiarise with the game's UI. I also realised that the agent is a very 'safe' player, choosing to play very safely and retreating from battle if it foresees it can't defeat. Very interesting to see. I wonder if I could simulate different game playtester behaviours that mimic different types of real-world player archetypes. With agentic playtesting, this means that the agents are able to provide actual gameplay feedback and suggestions to improve the game, having played the game itself. This unlocks a whole lot of possibilities for AI-assisted game dev, since it closes the playtest loop. This feels like the future of recursive game development, where agents can now recursively build > playtest > improve the games they are working on. Karpathy's Agentic Engineering finally has proper tooling! (built by... Google) Karpathy defined agentic engineering as the discipline that separates production agent work from vibe coding. The core skills he listed were spec design, eval loops, and security oversight. The problem has been that practicing this still requires a different tool for every phase: - editor for code - a terminal for scaffolding - a browser for testing - a cloud console for deployment - and a separate framework for evals. Every transition is a context switch. The solution to production-grade Agentic Engineering is now actually implemented in Google’s Agents CLI. It covers the entire workflow in one place for scaffolding, evaluating, and deploying ADK agents. One setup command injects 7 ADK-specific skills into a coding agent's context, which lets it handle scaffolding, evals, deployment, and enterprise registration through natural language. I tested this end-to-end by building a RAG agent from scratch using Claude Code. It scaffolded the full project from the ADK agentic_rag template, generated 20 eval scenarios with LLM-as-judge scoring, and returned a quantitative scorecard. Finally, it also deployed everything to Agent Runtime and registered the agent to Gemini Enterprise, so the entire org can discover and use it. 🚨An ICE agent accused a U.S. citizen of “impeding”... because she refused to drive her car into another vehicle. In the video, an ICE agent yells at a woman, in her car, to move. She explains that she can’t move because she will hit another vehicle. She isn’t refusing… or trying to block them… she is trying to avoid committing a crime. “I’m not impeding. I’m trying to get out of the fucking way. You see how narrow it is.” The agent then tells her to back up. Her response… “You are endangering me. Get out of my way so I can back up. I’m going to hit this car.” And this is exactly why it is so dangerous when ICE agents claim someone was “weaponizing their vehicle.” Because we keep seeing the same problem… ICE agents create chaotic situations by blocking roads, surrounding vehicles, and giving conflicting commands. Then, when someone tries to navigate that chaos, they claim they were being attacked. When the government creates the danger, everyone else is left to deal with the consequences.show more

🧃 Introducing stereOS: a Linux based operating system hardened... and purpose built for AI agents. It's clear that agents need an ACTUAL operating system (not what people are calling an "OS") to witness the full breadth and depth of their capabilities while mitigating the blast radius of autonomous, untrusted actors. But there are so many problems with AI sandboxes today: * Going out to the apple store and buying a mac mini will never scale and is way too expensive (obviously) * Running in Docker is too restrictive (agents can't stand up their own container infrastructure, no sub virtualization, docker-in-docker is very broken) * Firecracker strips all the hardware so GPU PCIe passthrough, secure boot, FIPs, etc. is out of the question. * Native VMs are too fat and the overhead of 1 agent per VM is too much. stereOS takes a different approach: it's a full NixOS system that you boot and then kick off agent sandboxes inside with gVisor + /nix/store namespace mounting. Each agent gets their own kernel and the /nix/store is read only by nature. Even if the agent was somehow able to escape the gVisor virtual kernel, they'd land on the NixOS system as the "agent" user! Not your actual hardware!! If you want to take a defense-in-depth approach, we support "native" agents that run at the system level kicked off by our `agentd` utility. These agents, on their own, can manage and kick off other sub agents using the internal sandboxing mechanisms. LLM Knowledge Base → Slides When Andrej Karpathy shared... his LLM Knowledge Base setup, many were wondering how to generate more visual forms of the wiki. There are many options, but I think Gamma is one of the best at producing high-quality, rich presentations. To showcase this, I just built a pipeline that turns my AI papers wiki (1K+ papers across 20 AI agent topics) into polished slide presentations using Gamma. The flow: Obsidian vault → Gamma MCP → embedded preview in my dashboard. I give one command to my agent, which pulls the top papers from each topic (via the wiki), feeds them to Gamma, and renders the presentation inline. The Gamma connector for Claude is a great choice for generating beautiful and professional slides. Easy to use. Go to your Claude instance and add the official Gamma connector. That's it! Claude Code will now have access to all the necessary MCP tools for generating slides.
