Alright, now that we know *what* an agent is,... how does it actually work? When you ask for help on a task, the agent plans a series of steps and executes them directly in the application on your behalf, using the tools it has access to. Say you are booking a local service or trying to organize your inbox (which typically takes multiple steps): the AI model first plans how to achieve the task using its existing knowledge and then interacts with your inbox to execute the task. The agent will continue until it is confident the task has been successfully completed.show more

Meta told 6,500 engineers to report to a new... AI unit The message arrived by surprise email. The options were: join or leave the company Their assigned work: handwriting puzzles and coding problems to train Meta's AI models Employees called it "literally the gulag." Most described the work as soul-crushing 1,600 employees signed a petition against keystroke monitoring. An engineer hijacked an internal livestream in protest Zuckerberg sent a memo admitting Meta had "made mistakes." He promised no further layoffs for the rest of 2026. He did not commit to changing the unit's mandate The reason this is happening: synthetic AI training data has hit a quality ceiling When the model gets good enough, AI-generated puzzles stop making it better Only human judgment does Meta spent $14.3 billion acquiring Scale AI to solve this problem It didn't solve it So they drafted their own engineers instead Good timesshow more

The issue with Karen Read's expert is he went... against the Cardinal rule for experts! Instead of doing his own work and seeing what his conclusions would be, he merely looked at the CW's reports and relied on their work and calculations. Experts do their own experiments and calculations and reach their own conclusions. They don't rely on the work of the opposing expert. They aren't in the business of debunking a theory without doing their own work. Also, it seems clear he had never done this type of work: comparing timing car data with cell timing data. Nice fellow and well-accomplished, just not in his lane. The defense didn't want to pay to have this work done right. Cutting corners is never a good plan. P.S. On a side note, this is not a tennis singles match. Such an odd comment. #KarenRead #KarenReadTrial2 #KarenReadRetrialshow more

"Either way, if you build an app for something you're passionate about and solves your problem, you've won no matter what. Because you've solved your problem." Being sore all the time is not a badge.... It means: - Your volume is too high - Your recovery is in deficit - Your next session is compromised - Your nervous system is still cleaning up the last one - Your growth is being throttled by accumulated damage Soreness is a sign you did something. It is not a sign you did the right thing. A trained muscle in a sensible programme should rarely be sore at all. The first few weeks of a new stimulus, yes. After that, your body adapts. The soreness fades. The growth carries on without it. People treat this as a problem to solve. They add drop sets. They add finishers. They chase the burn. They want that next-day ache back because the ache feels like proof. It is not proof. It is damage your body now has to repair before it can build anything new. The lifters making the most progress walk out of the gym feeling worked but not wrecked. They train the same muscle again 72 hours later because they can. The sore-every-day brigade train it again in a week and call it advanced programming. It's just bad arithmetic.show more
