The school management in turn banned all motorcycles and commercial buses on campus and subjected over 30,000 students to just about 50 buses and a few tricycles. OAU has one of the largest land masses of any Nigerian university, yet students are now stranded daily. Welp...FSD(V13.2.2) smacked right into a curb on the Cybertruck... today...Both wheel caps are destroyed. I have re-watched the footage many times at this point and I am still puzzled as to why FSD decided to veer to the right. Quite frankly unacceptable behavior. To be abundantly clear, there was no one around me that would make FSD want to steer out of the way, I was not distracted at all and supervising the vehicle the entire time, and there was NO time to react to avoid this incident.. Thankfully no one was injured, and there seemingly is no additional damage to the vehicle or the wheels themself. Tesla AI team (Wes too), please feel free to use my vehicle's telemetry data or any additional data to look into this to avoid this happening in the future if you so choose. (DM me if any further info is needed) This is incredibly disappointing to me. I understand this is a "supervised" software but dang, does it sting when there is nothing you could have done to avoid this (Other than not using the software at all). To be clear, I still believe in the FSD mission, but I will not be using the software until the next revision. Why Hyderabad Drowns After A 20min Rain? I may... not have a simple answer to this complex question but was in Raidurgam area yesterday and this what I saw. This is right next to the Raidurgam metro. It is like the IT hub of Hyderabad and look at the state of things here. Roads are being dug to lay drainage pipes. Locals told me it has been close to a year since they started digging. The debris is just lying on the road, existing drainage seems to be damaged and all the sewer is flowing on to the main road. To make things worse, many are parking right on the road making the congested area much more difficult to commute. There is no parking space at Raidurgam Metro. If someone wants to take the metro, they have to arrive on a separate vehicle to reach. Plus there are a million autos lined up on the road. Traffic police who hide behind trees or corner you in some random street won’t regulate traffic on the main roads. They won’t show a solution to park vehicles but will collect challans. Why are you collecting challans without any space being earmarked for parking? Do you expect people to jump off a parachute and get into a metro? We look at China, Japan with their advanced technology of laying roads in a day and will be wowed. Here governments talk about AI city, Future City and such money minting projects for the government and still get wowed. Why isn’t AI or advanced technology being used to repair roads, drainages or maintain infrastructure in the existing city??? Gated societies are not India's future. Townships are. Think... about why gated societies became so popular in the first place. It was never just about security. People wanted good roads, proper footpaths, parks, greenery, cleanliness... basically a place where they could step out without having to deal with the everyday problems outside. But even the best gated society has one problem. The moment you step outside, you're back to reality. You still have to go to work. Your kids have to go to school. You have to visit hospitals, restaurants, shopping areas and a hundred other places. And you have to navigate the bad traffic, dirty roads, potholes on roads, etc. That's where I think townships come in. I recently visited Bhartiya City in North Bangalore. It's spread across 125 acres and has residential societies, offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, parks... almost everything you need. The roads, footpaths, greenery and public spaces are all maintained by the private developer. You're no longer buying just a flat, but buying an entire environment/ecosystem. And this is happening because people have slowly stopped expecting good public infrastructure from the government. They'd rather pay a private developer to build and maintain it. First we paid extra for a gated society. Now we're paying for an entire town. Think about how crazy that is. People pay so much in taxes, yet they still feel the need to pay again for good roads, parks, footpaths, cleanliness and basic civic infrastructure because they don't expect to get it outside. People are trying to escape the problems of India... while still living in India. I genuinely think this is where Indian real estate is headed. More townships. More self-contained ecosystems. More people choosing to live inside these bubbles because that's where they find the quality of life they're looking for.show more

The most apt analogy I can think of is that Waymo is transforming the real world into an automated Amazon warehouse, with people as the goods and Waymo vehicles as the robots shuttling them around. With the advent of personal transportation becoming incredibly affordable, sending anything from point A to point B using a self-driving electric vehicle will soon be within easy reach. One of Waymo’s standout features is privacy. Riding in an Uber often means being subjected to the driver’s loud group chats on some app, making the journey neither quiet nor private. In contrast, Waymo offers a fully private experience, allowing you to have confidential phone conversations or chat freely with fellow passengers without distraction. Waymo also reimagines the concept of a car. Without the need for a driver, we can eliminate the front console, reduce weight, and remove the steering wheel. I am very confident in a widespread 6–10" snowfall for a large portion of the Tri-State area, with lower confidence closer to NYC, Long Island, and the Jersey Shore where mixing remains a concern. At this time, I am keeping some mixing in play in central NJ/Long Island, but I’m not totally sold on how aggressive it becomes. While 4–6" looks like a very solid floor, several areas could easily boom to 6"+ if colder air locks in faster and holds longer than currently modeled. ZONE 1 – 6–10" OF SNOW This is the zone where cold air damming will be most prevalent, allowing snow to remain all snow for the duration of the event. Expect higher snow ratios, which could allow many areas to push toward double-digit totals, especially under any persistent banding. I could easily pull this zone into NYC and Nassau County as we see more model data. ZONE 2 – 4–6" OF SNOW This zone will likely start with heavy, wet snow, before transitioning to a lighter, fluffier snowfall as colder air works in. Some compaction is expected with lower snow ratios, but additional snow and mesoscale banding could still drive totals toward or above 6" in spots. ZONE 3 – 2–4" WITH MIXING This zone remains VERY uncertain. I could make a strong argument that cold air advection dominates, keeping this mostly snow and allowing totals to reach 4–6". However, low-level warm air transport on an easterly wind may introduce sleet, especially along the Jersey Shore (east of GSP) and into Suffolk County, which would eat into accumulations. Today I had my first demo drive in a... Tesla. It was also my first time ever sitting in one. This was the first car I’ve ever sat in the driver’s seat of where I didn’t touch the steering wheel for over 20 miles. Before I even got to the car, the people who had demoed it before me were an older married couple who were absolutely euphoric. They thought it was so cool that the car could drive itself. The Tesla employee told me this happens all the time. People come back from demo drives and tell the next test driver that they’re about to have an amazing experience. Little did I know, I’d end up carrying on the torch to the next couple demoing it after me. There was a ton of construction where I demoed the car, and FSD handled the entire drive extremely well. And yes, it can go through a drive-thru and stop at each window. The only thing I had to do was tap the pedal because it wouldn’t leave on its own, but it was still wild seeing the AI stop perfectly at the second window and wait. There are a million things I could write about why a Tesla feels like a better car and how much more it offers compared to a regular car. But for now, I’ll stick to FSD. There were only two moments that made me a little uneasy. The first was pretty minor. The car slightly hesitated going up a driveway, but quickly made up its mind. The second was more noticeable. I didn’t realize the car was nagging me. Once I touched the steering wheel, nothing happened, so I pulled it right a little harder, then let go. After that, the car turned left and crossed a double yellow on a backroad. (and yes I know you can sue the volume knob) I’m not totally sure if it was trying to pull over or what it was doing. I wanted to see how it would handle the situation, but there were cars coming, so I took over and corrected it. One of the coolest moments was when I thought FSD was glitching because it came to a complete stop in the middle of a busy road. Then I looked around and realized why. On the right side, there was a bicyclist waiting at a yellow crosswalk. The cars behind me didn’t honk, and the Tesla stopping actually incentivized another car in the right lane to stop and let him pass. The car is almost too nice to pedestrians, because 99.999% of humans would’ve blown through that, especially with no flashing light. For 99.9% of the drive, the car navigated confidently and smoothly. It was a real “feel the AGI” moment. Please do not let the media, the general public, or anyone else convince you that this technology is just some kind of auto assist or glorified cruise control. This is undoubtedly getting extremely close to feeling superhuman. You still have to pay attention to the road, but after experiencing it myself, I’d be shocked if HW4 Teslas aren’t unsupervised within the next couple years. The car was extremely smooth. There was no harsh braking, and it even avoided something in the road that I didn’t see. Driving with FSD made me realize I probably wasn’t driving as well as I could be. Hopefully, eventually, everyone’s car can be as mindful as a Tesla. I’ve never seen a brand so far removed from the public’s sentiment. I’m so happy I ordered one.show more

He is pursuing a combined BCA and MCA degree. He is deeply interested in the automotive domain. His father has worked in the automotive field for several years, including time in Saudi. Growing up around that environment, Khaleel always felt that he should do something meaningful in this space. Last year, he came across news about an accident near Amarnath. A bus carrying pilgrims met with an accident due to brake failure. Several people were affected. That incident stayed with him. He and his father started thinking seriously about whether something could be done to address this problem. They began experimenting on their own. Over time, they designed, fabricated, mounted, and tested an apparatus that could act as a fail safe braking mechanism. They developed a system that could be mounted onto the rear axle shaft. In case of brake failure, the driver can press a button placed near the driver’s seat. Once activated, the vehicle comes to a gradual halt within about 10 to 12 seconds. There is no jerk. The stopping is smooth, ensuring the vehicle does not topple or lose control. The system also automatically switches on the hazard lights, alerting other vehicles that something is wrong. To test this properly, they even bought an old Tata Ace truck using their own money. They modified it to install the apparatus and tested it under multiple conditions, both with and without load. The Tata Ace normally carries about 750 kg, but they also tested it with close to 1 tonne of load. The system worked well in all scenarios. Within about 8-9 months, Khaleel and his father took this from idea to a working prototype. With the help of KLETU, Khaleel has applied for a patent. The EIR hearing is already done, and he is hopeful about the next steps. What made me really happy was not just the technical achievement. Khaleel told me that he got the confidence to reach out to me only because of the Hubballi meetup. Because everything was discussed in Kannada, he felt that a small town boy like him could also think big. He felt that his ideas were valid and worth pursuing. He reached out to seek help in connecting with OEMs and others who could support him in commercialising this idea and taking it further through professional testing and industry adoption. If this idea eventually gets adopted at scale, it could make heavy commercial vehicles and buses more fail safe, reduce emissions, and possibly save lives. Hills I will die on as an elementary school... teacher, who just wrapped up my 32nd year teaching! 1. If you are not PASSIONATE about blessing, serving, and empowering those you are blessed to teach, this profession is not for you. 2. Our students are not “ours”. They are their families, and we need to understand the magnitude of the calling, and responsibility we have to meet them where they are, and to help them to get to a place that they never thought possible. 3. As important as the curriculum is (and it IS important), the children in our classroom are what matter most. It’s our JOB to teach the curriculum to SERVE our students, NOT to use our students to push any sort of agenda. 4. Just as we teach our students to “leave things better than they found them”, we need to leave our students better than they were when they first entered into our classroom. Never let a day pass without pouring into each and every child. 5. We should not teach our children WHAT to think, but HOW to think, and how to use that knowledge to bless and serve not only themselves, but the world around them. 6. Our words carry little (or NO value), if we do not practice what we preach. 7. If we don’t make learning fun, children will view learning as a chore, and we we will be creating a generation of children who grow up to be young adults who don’t see the joy in learning new things. 8. The child that may be “difficult to reach/teach” (the one who may get on your last nerve more than you could ever imagine), is someone’s EVERYTHING. Get to know them as human beings, find out what motivates them, and do everything you can to help them to thrive. 9. Never tell a child they “can’t” do something. God has blessed each of them with far more strengths and talents than we may know, and it’s not our job to tell them what they can’t do, but to help them to realize all the things they CAN do. 10. Just weeks ago I considered this to be a... map of Superchargers. The foundation that made EV’s a going concern for the first time. But it’s not. These dots represent fully permitted and built power stations in an era where every AI player is trying to figure out how to get power for compute. A reporter recently asked what we might see in... China that would really surprise people — something we wouldn’t find in the U.S. Across most of the technologies we looked at — quantum, eVTOL, EVs, AI applications — I wouldn’t say there’s anything entirely unique to China. There’s usually a counterpart in the U.S., whether in a lab, a startup, or a pilot. The real difference is scale — how quickly things move from concept to implementation. If I had to point to one example that captures this difference, that you might actually see on a trip to China in the next year or two, it would be autonomous deliveries. At the Logistics Expo in Shenzhen last month, at the new Automation exhibition hall, we met teams from autonomous logistics vehicle providers such as Neolix, ZelosTech, Meituan, and $JD. Neolix had just reached 10,000 vehicles, roughly ten times what it had a year earlier, and ZelosTech had hit the same milestone. In contrast, U.S. companies such as Nuro have been developing similar systems for years (9 to be exact) and have raised over US $2.3 billion, but their operations still seem to be “pre-scale” and "upcoming." (Correct me if I'm wrong.) It's probably a confluence of reasons but I'm sure it helps that the government is so hands on with the rollout in China. In my Deep Tech Trip Takeaways, I wrote that what stood out most in China wasn’t any single company or product, but the structure that tied them together, enabled by the government's strategic policies and services. Shenzhen’s rollout of autonomous delivery fits that description well. The city just published a report on “functional autonomous vehicles,” giving rare visibility into real-world activity. The August 2025 report — released in time for the Expo — summarized the following: - 764 vehicles operating across the city, including delivery, sanitation, and inspection units - 3,185 km of public roads open to autonomous operations - 230,000 km traveled and about 900,000 deliveries completed in one month (750,000 express parcels, 150,000 fresh goods) - SF Express (a big client of Neolix) led with 504,000 orders, followed by Meituan with 152,000 - Each vehicle averaged roughly 200 deliveries per hour, about twice a traditional courier van - Cost per delivery was around ¥0.1 (≈ 1 U.S. cent) lower than human delivery — not a major saving by any means, but important because new tech is often loss making in the beginnning - Accident rate: 0.04 per 10,000 km; manual intervention: 0.016 per km; public complaints: 23 cases citywide - And of course, I should highlight that Shenzhen isn't the only city working on this, it's just the most advanced that I found It’s not yet a profit story, but it does show that autonomous logistics in China has reached a level of operational maturity and regulatory acceptance that’s still emerging elsewhere.
