C = εr ε0 (A/d) This demo shows capacitive... coupling using water as a variable dielectric (εᵣ ≈ 80). The human body completes the circuit by touching the water, acting as the second conductor with its capacitance to ground. Hand/finger movement changes the effective area A and distance d, while ripples dynamically modulate C. This varying capacitance alters an oscillator’s frequency, which is converted into audio tones or MIDI in real time. Gemini (left) vs ChatGPT vs Claude (right) Prompt: Create... an interactive HTML, CSS, and JavaScript simulation of a satellite system that transmits signals to ground receivers. The simulation should show a satellite orbiting the Earth and periodically sending signals that are received by multiple ground stations. Include realistic factors such as signal delay based on distance, occasional signal loss due to obstructions or interference, and visualization of the signal path as lines or waves. The satellites’ position should be updated using simplified orbital mechanics, and the ground receivers should display received signal strength and timestamps.show more

A lot of people have seen this video and... tagged me, saying that Catholicism is full of fake and evil practices, covered up with lies and evil rituals. Some have asked, “Why are they pouring salt into the water? Are they invoking evil spirits? Isn’t this a pagan practice?” Now, I want you all to listen: this is not an invocation of evil spirits or a pagan ritual, as some of you are claiming. This is the Sacramental Blessing and Exorcism of Water and Salt. During some ceremonies, blessed and exorcised salt is added to a natural water source, such as a river or stream, as a sign of purification, spiritual protection, and blessing for the local community and its surroundings. This practice has a biblical reference in 2 Kings 2:19–22, where the prophet Elisha used salt in connection with the purification of water. In the traditional Roman Rite, salt is first exorcised and blessed before being added to water. The salt symbolizes preservation, incorruptibility, purification, and spiritual protection. This rite is therefore not simply about the physical water. It is a sacramental act of the Church, asking God to bless, purify, and protect the people and the place through prayer and the use of blessed elements.show more

👀 Water you looking at? Everglades restoration in action!... 💦 💧 Crystal clear water is flowing as part of the Biscayne Bay Coastal Wetlands Project. This major Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) Project is complete and already improving water quality in this area of Miami-Dade County. 💪 Watch the water as it flows from the C-1 Canal into a newly constructed pump station and a series of conveyance and distribution features to slowly rehydrate coastal wetlands instead of harmfully discharging it directly into Biscayne Bay. 🏅 Biscayne Bay is an iconic waterbody of enormous significance for millions of Floridians and this project greatly improves the health of this environmental treasure.show more

Who says microcontrollers are only for sensors and IoT?... One developer used an ESP32-S3 to create an entire collection of interactive generative art, proving that embedded systems can be a creative medium too. The projects use Adafruit Qualia ESP32-S3 with a 2.1" round TFT display and an IMU for motion-based interaction, while the artwork is first prototyped in JavaScript and then ported to C++ and deployed with the Arduino IDE. Along the way, you will learn about computer graphics, embedded displays, animation, IMU sensors, generative art, optimization, and real-time rendering on resource-constrained hardware.show more

In the first video, people in Donetsk are seen... greeting a water tanker. In the second video, during the rain, people try to collect at least a drop of water because the water pipeline from the Siverskyi Donets was destroyed by the Russians. When Donetsk was not occupied by Russia, the city hosted the European Football Championship, as well as concerts by Rihanna and Beyoncé. Now, there is no more running water in the city. According to the schedule, water only appears in taps once every three days, and even then it doesn’t reach every household, so water has to be delivered by tankers, with long queues forming for it. People use plastic bags as toilets, and this filth spreads everywhere. This is happening not only in Donetsk - water is supplied once every two days in a number of other cities, including Mariupol. This is how Russia 'liberated' Donbas. Why is this happening? In the past three and a half years - since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 - reservoirs in Donetsk Oblast have significantly dried up. The water supply system from the Siverskyi Donets River was destroyed. The region’s reservoirs and underground water sources are not enough to meet the needs of the population, in part due to the extensive network of coal mines. When the self-proclaimed “DPR” and “LPR” were created in 2014, Ukraine did not cut off this water channel, as it was still supplying water to Mariupol, which remained under Ukrainian control. But at the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, the situation changed: the Russian army, during its offensive, destroyed a unique hydraulic structure that had supplied the region’s largest cities with water. The Russian authorities decided to build a new canal - the Don–Donbas canal - which was supposed to begin in the Rostov-on-Don area. It soon became clear that the new water pipeline, first of all, could not provide the region with the necessary amount of water, and second, it was built with numerous violations, with a large portion of the budget embezzled during construction. Crimea is also suffering from a water shortage, and the situation is worsening. One of the reasons why Russia is striving to seize southern Ukraine is that it sees this as a way to "solve the water issue" for the occupied territories.show more

This video reveals what appears to be sewage flowing... into water on Southend seafront. The footage was captured on Sunday. The area of darker coloured water was spotted by a man in an aircraft who labelled it “disgraceful”. Mark Hutley said: “I’ve never seen anything like it. It could be seen for miles.” It was spotted between Chalkwell beach and Westcliff beach. The apparent sewage spill is close to one of Anglian Water’s ‘storm overflow’ pipes that leads into the water from the land. Latest records indicate that it was active on Sunday 8 September and emptying into the area of the Thames Estuary for a period of time. Anglian Water have a permit from the Environment Agency to operate the storm overflow pipe, which specifies conditions for controlled sewage and stormwater spills during heavy rainfall. This is in order to prevent flooding in homes and businesses when the sewer network becomes overloaded with rainwater.show more

🦿Xpeng showed a humanoid robot called IRON whose movement... looked so human that the team literally cut it open on stage to prove it is a machine. IRON uses a bionic body with a flexible spine, synthetic muscles, and soft skin so joints and torso can twist smoothly like a person. The system has 82 degrees of freedom in total with 22 in each hand for fine finger control. Compute runs on 3 custom AI chips rated at 2,250 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second), which is far above typical laptop neural accelerators, so it can handle vision and motion planning on the robot. The AI stack focuses on turning camera input directly into body movement without routing through text, which reduces lag and makes the gait look natural. Xpeng staged the cut-open demo at AI Day in Guangzhou this week, addressing rumors that a performer was inside by exposing internal actuators, wiring, and cooling. Company materials also mention a large physical-world model and a multi-brain control setup for dialogue, perception, and locomotion, hinting at a path from stage demos to service work. Production is targeted for 2026, so near-term tasks will be limited, but the hardware shows a serious step toward human-scale manipulation.show more
